Emburse Nexonia was the first real expense tracking platform we used, so it was still a huge improvement. However, we finally switched to a much better platform 2 years later and realized Nexonia was missing many standard quality-of-life features you can expect to get with most other modern platforms. Pros It does have some modern features like a mobile app for tracking expenses and receipts on the go. This is definitely an improved experience over not having anything at all. Cons The setup was quite cumbersome to finally get going. Even though a mobile app was included for tracking receipts, the experience of using felt very dated compared to most other modern solutions. You could upload receipts and submit expenses while traveling, BUT there was no OCR functionality that actually read the receipts. You had to attach them AND still fill out every field manually. Cons I switched over to automatic billing with Emburse Nexonia when they set up their new billing platform in May. They triple charged me and I have been trying to get in touch with them since then to resolve this issue. The only way to get in touch is through a billing form- which I have submitted several times. When I speak to someone from customer service, they cant' give me any billing info and haven't been able to get me in touch with anyone to review these charges from 4 months ago. This is unacceptable that I can't get the money back that was overcharged - especially since we are a small non-profit where every amount counts when we are trying to do good programs. While there were occasional performance issues and room for improvement in customer support, my overall experience with Nexonia Expenses was satisfactory. I have been trying to resolve a billing issue for 6 months where they overcharged us. You CANNOT speak to a human being. No one has responded to me. Pros The product is fine but their non-existent customer service more than offsets that benefit. Cons Customer service in response to over charging. They still have not responded to query and resolution of overcharging that occurred six months ago. At best its terrible customer service, at worst its fraudulent. In hindsight, I would have sooner undergone dealing with integration of SAP concur than having to try to resolve a billing issue with Nexonia, which has still not been responded to in over 6 months. We started with Nexonia around April 2021 and were off by May 2022.There are just so many better options out there for a similar price. We switched to Concur. Although not perfect, it is a thousand times better than Nexonia. Pros Not really anything positive to say about this software. Everything we hoped it would be, it wasn't. Customer service was OK. Corporate credit card sync seemed to work fine. Cons BEWARE: They do not really have true OCR. This is the biggest downside. Typically, an OCR with expense reporting like Concur or Expensify finds key information and automatically matches this information (vendor, amount) with a corporate transaction. In Nexonia, you need to manually match every...single... transaction. Our users hated it!It took me an hour or more to do an expense report in Nexonia that is 5 minutes in Concur. The matching was totally manual and requires a refresh (with pinwheel!) every time you match a single transaction.The administration menu is clunky and difficult to navigate. The cash reimbursement, which was not set up by the implementation team, is through a third party, Western Union, and does not work great.BEWARE: When you leave, you are required to have a "maintenance" contract to access your data. Again, unlike other expense reporting platforms. I had to manually extract reports with receipts in order to ever leave Nexonia. This was extremely tedious and time consuming.
