Overall one of the easiest platforms we've tried...and we've tried a lot!

Pros

Expenses are always tricky, and making sure people get them in on time and in the proper format for filing... but I've found that Certify, from the app to the optionality, has made it easiest for our teams to expense quickly and correctly.

Cons

It does require ample employee training due to the complexity of billing but the platform makes the process as intuitive as possible for tracking time, processing expenses and generating client invoices.

Saving time is the biggest benefit I see. Being able to enter receipts on the go and have them sync up and then auto-populate my expense report is one HUGE thing I can check off my long list of "to do's".

Pros

I love how easy and convenient this software is to use and because of this I rarely if ever "forget" to upload a receipt. I use the mobile app "on the spot" as I wait for my catering order or before I start my car to drive to the next office. It's great!

Cons

It is hard to come up with any major cons. I guess if I had to pick something it would be to have fewer categories on the mobile app in the section where you enter the expense description. However, this is not a big deal at all.

I find it quite helpful to manage expenses especially if you need to control your team expenses. You and set it to send reports to you and approve them or not. It's really user-friendly. App's design is not the best but it fills your needs.

Pros

It's really easy to submit your expenses with your phone through certify's app without needing the internet. You can just add your full day expenses and at the end of the day with just one button send it all to the software in your computer and from there you can create reports and send them directly to your manager. The person at your company controlling the software has the ability to choose which categories appear in your app, so it can fit every business and every person.

Cons

The invoice recognition doesn't quite work. So just stick to the fill up the blanks yourself.

A huge business problem that certify has to help me to fix, is cutting unnecessary cost in our company. With its easy to use software, I was able to see what cost I could cut, therefore saving our company more money!

Pros

This software is really great. I provide all the snacks, office supplies, and other employee-related equipment to my team of about 120 employees. Therefore I use Certify a lot and its extremely easy to use. I love how I can just snap a photo an upload my receipt right after purchase to keep things in order. It also gives you tips and tricks if you mess up an expense. I would highly recommend this software to any companies that have company credit cards. It's very easy to learn and very easy to use!

Cons

There really is not a lot of things I dislike about Certfity. I use it every day and I find it a very easy product to use.!

It's not the best, but it's not horrible either. The mobile app works well. Auto-expenses are not reliable though. Rarely gets 'auto-fill' correct and most of the time have to manually enter everything (no big deal, still a time saver). Web app, however, has a serious problem: linking uploaded receipts to existing expenses. If I create a new expense, upload a .pdf receipt (scanned in image of phone bill for example) and then try to link the two...it invariably creates havoc. Looks fine on my end, but as soon as I submit it for approval the links get broken (no joke, the expense shows receipts from a few months ago or other random flakiness). This, of course, results in more time to fix things. Which, as a field guy, means more time waiting to get paid. I have a work around for that but it's still a bug...and it was annoying ;>). The other thing I don't like about Certify: reimbursement. Yes, they do direct deposit into bank account. That's nice. However....and this is where I have an issue...they say 'up to 5 business days'. Skip the 'up to' bit. It is 5 business days on the button every single time. So, for example...if our manager doesn't get around to approving the expenses for whatever reason...there could be (and is) a significantly delay in payment (keep in mind, business days...weekends don't count). The odd bit is Certify takes the money out as soon as approval is submitted...but takes 5 business days to pay out. Sorry, it should be a simple take -> pay process. Not take -> hold -> pay. There clearly is inefficiency somewhere on there side. Our office manager could do a transfer that day (takes all of two minutes). Overall, I am sure the bean counters like it. But as a field guy...I am not thoroughly impressed. Some flakiness in the software, the delays involved in reimbursement, and so on. Really hasn't made my life easier. There are much better apps out there for expense management.

Much easier than the old ways of dealing with receipts.

Pros

Easy to edit. Easy to understand. I mostly used it for mileage, so the mapping was easy to understand. I also used it for purchases, which was a little more difficult.

Cons

I enjoyed the software, but I was a little confused with the uploading. It was a little tedious, but other than that, it was pretty easy. If I had a long receipt it made it a little difficult. Looking for an easier way to upload.

My overall experience with Certify Expense has been great. It has helped our company cut costs and survive in a harsh economic climate. We're in the Casino industry which has been hit hard during this time and we've still managed to stay afloat because of Certify Expense.

Pros

My favorite thing about Certify Expense is how simple it is to approve or deny expenses and we can add notes to explain the reasons for our decision. We handle several projects at once and Certify has helped us cut costs on travel, reduce spending on projects and we've reduced our finance department drastically which helped us save on labor expenses as well. Employees can manage their own travel plan and expenses but adhere to the limits set by management.

Cons

Customer service has been slow to respond to our requests and we often end up solving the issues on our own.

It has been very positive. I will continue to recommend fellow business owners to use it for their employees. It saves time and you do not have to keep a paper trail it is all done in the software.

Pros

I really enjoy this software, I travel with my job and I am able to log how many miles I drive and then I am able to use the software and send my mileage over to my management and then they are able to reimburse me. It is a very easy program to use and I would recommend this to any business owners.

Cons

I have not found anything that I do not like about this software. I think it is simple and easy to use and I will continue to use it.

Pros

Mobile app is robust enough that as an end user i never have to acutally use the web interface. Handles taking pics of receipts and generating reports to be approved

Cons

Image recognition is poor for automatic filling. Often doesn't tell you what is a required field. App sometimes errors in odd ways, such as moving right from taking a picture of a recipt to returning you back to the main scree, without letting you fill in details.

Pros

Pre-loading (actually, it's just keeping them once they're in) addresses makes it easier to track mileage.

Cons

If you have more than one trip segment that is the same distance as another one, Certify likes to create an error message. This seems like something that would be eliminated by having the Bot look at the destinations and realize that just because you have two or more trips of the same length, they aren't the same trip.

Cons

The thing I like least about Certify is that sometimes there will be double entries for an expense and you have to figure out which is the correct expense entry to tie it to.

This platform has completely transformed the way I manage my spending and travel. From the moment I signed up, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to set up my account and start using all the features.

Pros

From the moment I started using it I was impressed this platform makes it very easy to navigate through all the features.

Cons

I would like the platform to have an option to track refunds in real time. Currently, when I submit an expense report, there is no clear way to know when reimbursement will be made. It would be great to have functionality that would allow me to track the status of the refund and receive real-time updates.

Overall, I think it's pretty amazing, gets the job done.

Pros

\- Mobile receipts are real life-savers when on the move - The onboarding experience for first-time users is great for getting you up to speed on the product - Great user interface and layout, really intuitive to use

\- Some of the labelling can be a bit confusing, for example, the decision to decide if I need to generate an expense or receipt can be a task - If there were a more explanatory category description, it would help reduce ambiguity, maybe a little button popup with a short-to-mid length description

Overall Despite lack of features for time saving ability I prefer Certify and it seems that I will continue using it.

Pros

My most liked feature of Certify is mobile application. It is a very handy when you need to upload receipts. It automatically extracts data from receipt photos and saves me from extra effort. It recognizes receipt data and fills required fields automatically. I enjoy this feature.

Cons

What I don’t like about Certify it is lack of some features. In the next versions of Certify Travel & Expense Management I would like to see online invoicing feature.

It's a cost effective solution to credit card expense management. They can be mostly flexible in integration design to fit the needs of your company. The mobile app and website are user friendly for new users. The reports function is helpful to dig into expenses. There are a lot of reports to use, but the best reports are for an additional fee.

Pros

It's relatively user friendly and easy to pick up after a few expense reports.

Cons

The customer service and billing team does not respond or resolve issues timely.

Easy to use purchasing reconciliation

Pros

The auto-import from my purchasing card is very useful. I also enjoy the mapping system for calculating my mileage. Compiling reports is quick and easy. I like the simple user interface and no nonsense page setups.

Cons

While the auto-import is great; I have experienced purchases that have been placed on reports but will not be deleted. I can't delete these values and they have accrued over my 2 years of using certify. This makes me worried when I have a report due and still have extra values located in my history. Scanning in receipts and matching receipts to my purchases could be a little easier too. Another concern with matching receipts to purchases is when a tip is applied to a purchase there is no way to identify that. There should be a TIP option on restaurant purchases that would solve discrepancies between official purchases and money spent.

Overall, it’s been pretty good. The customer support has been good. I believe once we get up and running to a full roll out it will be beneficial for our team.

Pros

I like the wallet and how credit card expenses and receipts merge in the wallet. I also like the flexibility that is in the tool for our situation. Many of these tools are set up as self install, and they do provide support, which I really liked.

Cons

The credit card linking tool for visa is tenuous at best. We could not get ours to work so we had to default to manually uploading our credit card transactions.

Pros

What I like the most about Certify is the fact that I can easily submit my expense reports through the app or I can login to the computer. In the past we used to use spreadsheets and had to scan receipts, now it's so much easier just take a picture of the receipt and it even fills it in for you and submit and you're done.

Cons

There's nothing I dislike about Certify I haven't had any issues with it and I use it on a weekly basis. I love the simplicity and how quick I can take care of my expense reports.

Overall great experience. Would recommend.

Pros

I loved being able to snap a photo of my receipts while traveling. Certify even reads the receipts and helps to fill in the blanks for your Travel & Expense report as well. I found it overall easy to use. I had used spreadsheets and Concur to track travel and expense at previous companies and this was a big improvement.

Cons

It didn't have as many options and features as Concur offered and the feature that read the receipts to fill in the report wasn't always intuitive and didn't get the information right as often as I would have liked. Also, the overall look and feel of the software is a little outdated, in my opinion.

Cons

wish you could add splits before you compile reports. Wish auto fill worked better. Every once in a while this do not show up after syncing

The digital processing of T&E reports is by far more efficient than having employees submitting them on paper through snail mail.

Pros

Ease of use for employees to track and submit expenses. The ability to track their expenses on their mobile devices.

Cons

the delay/processing time for employees who have a large number of items to process in one report is a huge time eater. And, moving between items they feel is cumbersome.

Very pleased with the software overall!

Pros

It's great how Emburse integrates with so many other software platforms to automatically import your receipts and spending. For example, I sync Emburse with my Uber Business account, and the receipts are automatically imported, making it easy to do expense reports. Also like how you can easily email receipts (or snap photos of them with the app) to the platform and it creates the expense.

Cons

Sometimes filling out the expenses is tricky, because there are a lot of rules and if you don't get it all right, it doesn't allow the expense.
