Cons The finding of additional users that were in the meetings is not intuitive there should be a highlight on how to add them. From upgrading our subscription without notifying us and overcharging us behind our back, to never replying to my requests for help and our site specialist being consistently unreliable... and it gets worse. They wouldn't even let us CLOSE the account without going back and forth. There's also no phone support and Concierge is automated and deliberately sends back generic, frustrating messages that have NOTHING to do with what you are asking. Seriously, save yourself the headache and don't even try this platform unless you want annoying emails several times a month and charges with no explanation. Pros Nothing- it was a nightmare to try and use. Don't use it if you can avoid it. Cons \- they overcharged us multiple times - the platform is designed to be confusing so they keep overcharging you for different features without telling you - even closing the account is a nightmare Alternatives considered [Brex](https://www.capterra.com/p/182054/Brex/) Reason for choosing Expensify It seemed cheaper. January 20, 2026 5.0 Fantastic service, great interface, easy to use, and minimize the amount of time it takes me to complete even complex expense reports. My reimbursements are quick and painless. I used to dread sitting down for long, drawn out session of submitting expenses, but with the seamless expense tracking and useful functionality, it takes me no time at all to get things square away. Pros User Interface and Ease of Use are huge factors in why Expensify is so good. It's simple, intuitive, and gets the job done without a ton of overhead. Cons I haven't found any con's yet! It's been the most reliable system I have used over my 30 year career. I have seen zero bugs or issues at all. March 5, 2026 5.0 Great experience, would absolutely recommend to companies to keep your expenses clean. The interface is also really simple and it makes me less likely to put off the task of getting it done. Pros Expensing is incredibly easy with Expensify. Any troubles I had (which were few) were immediately resolved. I also love the opportunities to win fun prizes or send them to my coworkers. Cons Sometimes I would have trouble with coding expenses, but I think that was mostly user error to begin with. With updates it became much more intuitive. Tracking and forecasting as well as budgeting has never been easier -- the analytics are super helpful and very appreciated. Pros A one stop destination/platform that helps me track and do annual budgets for my IT department, It offers clear tracking, and tools/graphs to help me budget and maintain, it also helps me by tracking expenses which assists with my inventorying process as well Cons That's tough because on the whole the platform works extremely well. The occasional login issues, and I think the submitting expenses could be streamline and made more efficient. Runs smoothly on my older phone as well as an older laptop, and it works well with brand new tech as well. This helps me with my tax and bookkeeping clients in keeping receipts and tracking expenses in an efficient manner. Helps avoid any doubled up tasks that can sometimes occur. Pros Expensify is easy to use and a great value for the price. It makes it simple to attach receipts and track expenses for multiple businesses and users. I have never had to reach out to customer service, so I have little to say in regards to that. I see that as a plus since the software is easy to use and I have not experienced any issues in my time using it. The reports are easy to find, to generate, and to review. I appreciate that the receipts are linked through the reports as well, allowing me to verify expenses if and when needed. Cons My main issue was years ago and involved a third-party. The integration into Quick Books Online had some bugs and issues at first, but that also could have been due to some of the users at the accounting firm. Review Source Jared W. Aside from reading my mind it takes care of everything. The few times it can't read a receipt or mischaracterize things are limited. Pros I really like that I can send a receipt via email or text and it auto fills most of the information. I like the auto fill from a photo as well. Doing expenses is as easy as point shoot save. Cons It doesn't read my mind very well. I think setting up an AI learning module instead of setting rules would be the next step in progression. I've used it for a variety of expenses but my typical use is for travel/transportation costs and I have approvals every week - it's so quick and easy I barely have to think about it. Pros Extremely simple to use and intuitive. Clean user interface. I approve travel expenses weekly and its so quick and easy I barely have to think about it. Cons I genuinely can't think of anything. The biggest complaints I've heard from my team were just down to the selections available in drop-downs and those aren't an expensify issue but rather a config issue. Uploading receipts, generating mileage claims, and creating expense reports is very easy, and having the app on my phone reduces friction with capturing and reporting expenses. It's also nice to have the insights generated by Expensify to consult when developing budgets. Pros User-friendly - very easy to upload receipts, generate mileage claims, create expense reports. Before having Expensify, I missed items regularly and forgot to claim them back. I also use it to track my reports and validate I get the correct reimbursement. I have recommended this to work colleagues, and they now also use it. Pros The ability to capture receipts on the go and allocate to specific reports and then reconcile with my work expenses system. It's easy to use, and I especially love that I can take a picture of a receipt with my phone and have the system fill out the majority of the fields in the expense report, or forward an email receipt (like a hotel or airline receipt) directly to Expensify to add the expense. Pros Taking receipt photos in the app, uploading photos of receipts, and email forwarding receipts all allow expense entry with less typing.
