It has a minor learning curve at the beginning, but it becomes highly intuitive after a few uses. The mobile app is especially convenient for submitting expenses without needing a computer. That said, it is ideal for small to medium upfront costs (meals, books, tickets), but less suited for very large expenses like flights, where out-of-pocket payment isn't ideal. And I have monthly call with accountant, Expensify is the essential tool to manage expense data and show it to my accountant in a timely manner and with accuracy Pros The ease of use, I had frequent trip to Korea, China, and Taiwan few years back. Currency conversion from local currency to Japanese Yen is automatic in Expensify, It saved tons of time for small company owner. Cons Localization ~ Japanese In Japan, company tax id is in every receipts and need to enter that to record. unfortunately, Expensify does not have capability to detect it and save that to record. Usually airfare come first, and expenses related to the trip come in other reports. Not common sense. Pros It facilitates the management of expenses from a Finance department point of view. Somehow helps track expenses. Cons It is not very friendly and coherent from a user point of view. Email updates and notification reminders Pros So easy to use especially on the mobile App. Scanning receipts auto pre fill populating information compatible to PC. Best expense system used in last 30 years! Cons Occasionally it logs you out of the system and you have to log in again which is a little annoying! But no huge issue really! The interface is clean, and with a simple picture from the invoice, I can start and submit reports anywhere. The OCR is quite good to capture most of the information contained on the invoice and help avoiding manual entry. Even when you put some data wrong manually, the system, based on the scanned receipt, helps identify where you did something wrong Pros I have been using Expensify since my Day 1 at my company and I have no complains and just good feedback to say about this trustworthy platform. All my reimbursements and other travel and expenses is solely provided and a reported under Expensify. I can say that everyone should at least have a try and note how important a dedicated platform like Expensify is important for small, medium and large companies. Cons As described before, Expensify is a very trustworthy platform that helps small, medium and large companies to organize their travel and expenses, reimbursements, reports integrated with other finance systems and provides a comprehensive and reliable way so that finance can have enough control over employee's expenses. Easy to set up, easy to train people and easy to use. Pros Expensify is very user friendly - it's extremely easy to upload receipts, add purchase details and find the appropriate coding for your company's GL/charge categories for your particular expense. On the company/employer side, it is an easy system to set up and rollout and is also great for auditing and reviewing employees' expenses and generating reports. Cons It's a great expense reimbursement system. I do have a mobile app so I can take pictures of my receipts and upload them easier. Pros Fairly easy once I set it up and I get reimbursed really quickly. I can upload receipts and put in my information for mileage reimbursement quickly. Cons A little confusing how to get a receipt uploaded. Easier to do on my phone then on desktop, but easier to request and manipulate on the desktop.
