We transitioned from a big-name donor database platform to DonorSnap 2 years ago and haven't looked back. The DonorSnap team provided hands-on service for the transition process and such personalized continued service that I know everyone by their first names. I always recommend DonorSnap to my peers in the Senior Care community and would recommend it to all philanthropic professionals at small to mid-sized nonprofits.

Pros

DonorSnap is a user-friendly online database that allows our medium-sized nonprofit to easily track donors, acknowledge donations, email donor contacts, assign and record interactions and pull customized reports. Unlike larger, more expensive databases, DonorSnap has a transparent interface which allows real-time customization at every level - for an extremely reasonable price. Not only is it easy to use, but if we ever have a question, online trainings are easy to find in their Help section, live trainings are given regularly, and customer support responds almost immediately.

Cons

The outgoing mass email function is a little clunky, so we usually export contacts to a CRM platform for more customizable email appeals and communications.

If you’re looking for a donor management database that’s effective, budget-friendly, and backed by a fantastic support team, I can’t recommend DonorSnap enough!

Pros

I’ve been using DonorSnap for nearly 10 years, and it has been an incredible tool for managing donor relationships. The platform is user-friendly, reliable, and packed with features that make tracking and engaging with donors a breeze. One of the standout aspects is its affordability—it offers great value for organizations of all sizes. What truly sets DonorSnap apart is its excellent customer service. Anytime I’ve had a question or needed assistance, their team has been responsive, helpful, and genuinely invested in making sure I succeed. Over the years, I’ve recommended DonorSnap to several organizations, and they’ve all had positive experiences as well.

Cons

If there’s one thing I’d love to see improved, it’s their presence at fundraising conferences. These events are where I connect with the largest audience of nonprofit professionals, and I think DonorSnap could make a big impact by being more visible in those spaces. It would be great to see them there more often!

### "Great basics, but communucation tools lacking or are too generic"

Sales, data transfer, and workshops have been good. I feel like the staff does its best to fully answer questions and solve problems. But with the overall limitations of the communications functions, there's only so much they can do.

Pros

The client database is straightforward and easy to use. The fields are intuitive and you can adapt or add per your own needs. Screen layout when searching can be tough because of long rows but pulling up individual contacts is easy. I love that you can copy data right from the viewing screen without having to open the editable contact. The help features are user friendly and usually address the most common problems. I like that there are videos as well as written materials on various topics.

Cons

The communication tools are sorely lacking. Email, letters, and forms are way too basic and challenging to edit. There does not seem to be a feature allowing you to change line spacing within a form or in the Automated Task Manager. In addition, I had to keep canceling the project and restarting because after one attempt to edit an ATM task, the system won't let you make additional edits. You have to start over. The emails come out looking like you emailed directly from your email provider. You are limited to one image insert, they are hard to edit, and you cannot add a form directly into the email. I have yet to send out an email from DonorSnap because it looks so pedestrian and ... boring. We are still using MailChimp for its visual features, which of course defeats the purpose. The forms are "okay" but come out looking like a child made them. Totally lackluster, but functional. I'll be honest: I am embarrassed to send out communications and put the forms on our website. If we leave DonorSnap for another product, it will because of the generic communication tools. The query tools used in creating tasks are not intuitive. If it weren't for the help videos I would never be able to implement these.

With some html experience or a third party html email template builder, you can build the same types of emails in DonorSnap. In the future we hope to add similar template builders as well. Our eleven year commitment to Donorsnap speaks to our satisfaction for the whole package! We believe it contributes to clean reords and donor communication.

Pros

We, as an organization, have used Donosnap for 11 years now. We like the complete data it imports and the ease of putting in manual checks. The best part is the online input is as easy as 2 clicks and all the info is pulled in under the donor in a second! love that! It is also so easy to create specific reports & donor gifts if they want a quick update. The system, as a whole, is a great value for the cost.

Cons

The thing i like least is probably using email for support as I am a verbal customer & prefer phone calls

DonorSnap is such an improvement over other CRM's that I have tried. I have recommended it to my web developer, and he has passed on my recommendations to other clients of his, and they have started using DonorSnap also.

Pros

Donor Snap is so much easier to use, than two other CRM's that I had used previously. Easy to learn, and they have excellent training videos, which is where I am able to get the majority of my questions answered. When I can't find the answer on their Help/Training site, I will send an email off to the support team, and typically get a response with an answer within 30 minutes. A previous CRM product could take 2-3 weeks for an answer. There reporting options are also very easy to use. So much easier than those other guys. If you are proficient with Microsoft Office products you should have no issues.

Cons

The weakest link I would say is with the ability to send emails that are heavy on graphics. It is also possible that I have not tried enough, or asked the correct questions.

DonorSnap has been great in helping us take our non-profit to the next level with our supporters. It was easy to set up, easy to migrate old information from another system, and easy to run. We are moving into a bright future with the help of DonorSnap.

Pros

Donor Snap customer service is great! They have a wealth of educational videos, and if those don't answer your question, their customer service team is quick to respond to any emails (usually within an hour)!

Cons

A few of the options take some time and additional knowledge (like doing HTML for emails), but even then the DonorSnap staff are willing to help with whatever you need.

I have been a customer for many years and while I look from time to time at other products, I always come back to DS because it is accomplishing what I need and at a good price point. Believe it or not, there are some features I never used and just this year in 2025 I started to use them and see the benefits to our Development and Business Office. I also added EventSnap and AuctionSnap which also have limitations, but I look forward to them getting further developed. Overall, I am a happy DonorSnap customer and look forwarding to a continually developing product.

Pros

Good Value Intuitive technology Support accessibilty from \[sensitive content hidden\] The integration with Stripe The add-ons of Auction and EventSnap (although too early to tell) Data all in one place

Cons

Some limitations Support is not as frequent as I always need I don't use some features and I always wonder best practices

We love DonorSnap. It helps us thank our donors every time we receive a donation. It is also very helpful with reporting and emailing all donors at once. The customer support is also better than most programs. They actually have people that will help.

Pros

The ease of use and the reports are very useful for grant writing. It also allows us to generate thank you letters for all donors.

Building queries seems like a bit of a hassle until you learn the process, then its very simple and helpful

Pros

The customer service/help department is quick to respond and always provides resolution. Donation logging and profile creation is simple and straightforward.

Cons

I struggle some with creating reports in data miner gold and platinum. Pledge tracking and reporting is also difficult.

The process of moving our data from Raisers' Edge to DonorSnap was completely painless and seamless. The DonorSnap team worked with us to get everything up and running practically overnight. The cost is reasonable and provides us with everything that we need to do our jobs efficiently.

Pros

The screens are easy to use; the reports are easy to compile; and the team is always quick to respond to any questions that I may have. It's also great that you provide free training sessions!

Cons

The only con is that reports can't have a customizable header that specifies exactly what the report contains --- it would be nice to see at a glance what the report is by a title listed on the top.

I absolutely love DonorSnap, I use this program every day for my work. I also love that anytime I need help with anything, I get help right away and everyone has been very friendly and helpful.

Pros

I love how user-friendly it is! I also love that every time I need help I can find a video to watch and if I still need help, customer service is amazing.

Cons

I don't really have anything to complain about. If I run into a problem, there is always a way to get the help I need.

Donor Snap is very user friendly and the support staff are outstanding. I also appreciate the complimentary training sessions. Having been in Development for 30+ years, I was challenged to use Raisers' Edge and Tessitura and have been so pleased with the ease of using DonorSnap.

So far, I have no objections nor is there anything I like least about it.

We are still only accessing a fraction of the options with DonorSnap but the amount of time we have saved by using the system on completing donor management and business tasks is already very high. The responsive forms have also allowed us to add additional revenue streams by offering a simplified way of collecting a variety of data as well as payments.

Pros

We have a some unique events and revenue streams and DonorSnap has allowed me to customize whatever was needed to get the data we needed. Excellent customer service! They respond quickly and are always helpful in brainstorming as well when I am trying to tweak something to fit our specific needs. Many DonorSnap features have either simplified tasks I was already doing or led me to new ideas that were very helpful. The tutorials are excellent and I use those often when training new staff. Another big Pro is the ability to have separate users with different permissions if needed. The excel import function is another great feature.

Cons

Split donations and acknowledgement letters sometimes require work arounds but overall has not been a significant issue. Many settings such as screen layouts you can format and keep, would be nice if you could have a default on lines per page you could view instead of having to click to change that.

Customization features biggest reason. Separate user login abilities and price point fit our budget better too.

We are a small non profit raising funds for St. Vincent's School for disabled children in Haiti and a medical clinic that serves their needs and those of the community in Port au Prince. Before DonorSnap, our records were very unorganized, and our record keeping not 100% accurate. We needed a program that was user friendly, affordable and could get our affairs in order so that we could better research our donors, increase our donor base and raise more money. That has happened since we started using DonorSnap. When I have had an issue I couldn't resolve myself, customer service has always been responsive and helpful. I have enjoyed learning new features, customizing reports and being able to provide our Board with the information they need for budgeting and fundraising. Because our acknowledgement system is now streamlined, with annual contribution reports, I believe our fundraising has been more successful even in these challenging times. I would highly recommend this software to anyone looking to increase their fundraising capabilities.

Pros

The software is very versatile, user friendly and intuitive even for someone with very little experience managing a donor database. We love the different reports that help you analyze appeals, trends, donor activity, etc. Adding new donations or information about a donor is very easy. The training webinars are an invaluable resource. I have referred to them countless times when I need help with queries and management issues. The interface with GoEmerchant is seem less and since we switched from PayPal, our online donations have increased and our acknowledgement process is more efficient and our record keeping far more accurate.

Cons

My biggest challenge is writing queries but that is not the fault of the software but my own inexperience. I think the program is able to handle the most complicated queries on a much larger scale than we need

I use donorsnap every single day at the office. It makes my job so much easier. I LOVE donorsnap and they are also the best price around.

Pros

DonorSnap has been the PERFECT database for us! We are able to track our donors, our client's interactions, even our volunteer hours! It literally does everything!! We can build and send our newsletters out right from donorsnap! Its been so amazing.

Cons

The auction software (which isn't even really donorsnap) did not do what the salesperson said it would. Also the texting feature attached to donorsnap (which again, isnt even really donorsnap) was not easy to use.

We have had the BEST experiences with customer service! If I need a specific report and am not sure how to go about it, within minutes I get a video tutorial or an email helping me with questions or suggestions on how I am using the program. The program itself is easy to use and intuitive, but it's the customer service that really puts it over the top for me.

The various ways we can report on and manipulate the data.

Cons

Sometimes it is slow to load when we have multiple users in the database at the same time.

DonorSnap gave our organization a way to reach out to current, past, and potential donors without wasting time, money, or effort on fruitless ventures. They have maximized the return on our advertising dollars. By following their platform, we have been able to make the same investment into advertising that we have over the past several years while getting a much better return on our investment.

Pros

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that relies on donations to be able to operate, we have come to rely on DonorSnap to maintain contact with our donors, to alert them to new fundraising initiatives, and to track where donations are coming from. In the short time we have used it, we have already seen a spike in donations from this quarter last year to this quarter this year. The part I like most about DonorSnap is that our donors do not feel as though they are being hassled for money. Instead, because of the professional setup that DonorSnap allows us utilize, our donors feel more connected to both our organization and our mission.

Cons

The initial setup fee seemed steep at first, especially when we did not know whether we would see a return on our investment. However, now that we have had it up and running for several months, it has paid for itself and for the initial fees.

As a new Executive Director for our non-profit organization, I have been thrilled with all of the trainings that Donorsnap offers. I have attended many virtual sessions, all of which have been so helpful. If I have a question, I am almost always able to find an answer (and usually a recorded training) on Donorsnap's help page. This has been a life-saver for me, and I now feel very confident with Donorsnap's features. I use Donorsnap for just about everything: online forms, database management, emails, address labels, reports, etc. I seriously do not know what I would do without it. Their customer service team is excellent--if I ever have a question, I hear back promptly from an actual real, live person (no recorded message or bot!)! 10/10 I highly recommend Donorsnap!

Great. The customer service team is very responsive. It meets all of our needs. Though I do still wish event services were more flexible with better options and connectivity to social media platforms.

Pros

The Customer Service truly stands out. It is also a fairly user friendly service for someone without a lot of experience with tech or other software.

Cons

I do wish there were more features for event management, registrations, etc.

Pros

I like how easy it is to use. We were leery about changing databases, but the DonorSnap team made the conversion process a very easy experience. We had someone working with us every step of the way and it was a quick and easy process.

Cons

The only Con is DonorSnap can do more than I thought it could so trying to learn everything take a little time.

### "Powerful Software for Powerful Fundraisers"

Pros

DonorSnap is the most customizable donor relationship management software that I have ever used. As the first paid fundraising staff for my small non-profit, I have appreciated how easy it was for me to learn the software with the free tutorials and the quick customer service. I also really like that I can update large amounts of data with the Excel import tool. This makes record-keeping easy and lets me get back to spending time on the phone with my donors. The more functions of this database that I incorporate into my workflow, the more insights we get about our donors, and the better positioned I am to make strategic decisions to raise us more money.

Cons

This software requires a firm grasp of relational databases, it is not for the novice. I have spent a fair amount of time using it, so it makes sense to me. But my teammates require some pretty specific direction and documentation about how to use it. So, it's not totally intuitive, at least the way we have it set up right now.

### "Easy to Use and Great for a Small Non-Profit"

Pros

We were looking for a new donor database that would be easy to learn and would not require our small non-profit to hire a developer every time we needed to set up something new or keep up with the various changes and upgrades with Salesforce. Donor Snap is affordable and has most of the same features as the big guys. The online forms make getting donation info into the system "a snap," and while its basic fields are enough to get started it allows for plenty of customization. The reporting features are robust (though you do need to know Excel and understand query strings to get the most out of it) The support team is excellent and responds quickly.

Cons

The UI feels dated and everything exported works best with MS Office. We don't really use communication tools outside of the acknowledgment letters because the design options are basic and clunky compared to the other platforms we use for this. I wish that the forms could use logic and that a donor could send a tribute card directly from the system but in general, we are very pleased with the decision to switch to Donor Snap.
