They are outdated, they are not user friendly, they might try to help but nothing ever gets resolved. We used the software for 10 years and had nothing but problems, some of which made us shut down our clinic while we fixed it. Every time we tried to call to get it resolved nothing really got resolved. We are trying to get out of the contract now and are being penalized a gigantic amount of money, in my opinion it is highway robbery. We have no choice because they hold the software and we have to be able to access records and they know this. They have not tried to work with us at all they have not been the least bit flexible, if I could literally wipe cat poop all over the dollar bills that I gave them I would do that, but unfortunately it will be an electronic payment. If you are considering this company for your software, please do not do it there are so many other better options out there. Pros It was available when we needed it. If we had done more research we probably wouldn't have used it, although 10 years ago it was probably what was available. Cons Customer support is terrible, the support of non-tech people is terrible, if you don't understand their product good luck to you. There are glitches in the system that were never fixed over 10 years, there were times when we actually had to shut the clinic down because the software wasn't working. Reasons for choosing Animal Intelligence It was available at the time. We probably should have done more research but we were just buying a clinic and there was a lot of chaos at the time. It makes referrals, client communications & treatments so much easier. Helps everyone stay on the same page & understanding. Pros The thing I like most about AI is that it streamlines everything for you. Cons There isn't anything I like least about it. Pros We never implemented the software, so in all fairness, I can't rate the functionality of the software. It seemed like it was going to be a good fit for our organization. Cons After spending a lot of time reviewing and working with the software we decided that we were going to move forward. Then we received a contract and read the fine print. They wanted us to sign a 3 year contract at a set monthly rate. If we cancelled at any time during the contract we would be charge 50% of the full 3 year contract. There was also a personal guarantee clause, were they wanted someone to individually guarantee payment if the corporate entity failed to make payment. That set off some serious red flags and we refused the contract. Any company that has this type of language in their contract has probably had several cancellations. So we did not move forward. The company response was that this was "Industry Standard" which is not true. They also charge a set up fee that was close to $1000.00, so there was no justification for trying to bill out for 3 years if a customer decided to cancel early. Reasons for choosing Animal Intelligence Even though AI does not have a web facing form to capture client lead data, they were willing to implement an excel import function that would have allowed us to import potential client data from our own web facing form. And even this was going to be a manual process that they were going to have to perform on their end 2 times a week. It amazes me in this day and age how hard it is to find a software package that has a web form integration that allows the capture of potential new clients. Pros What I like most about animal intelligence was that it was very user-friendly and allowed for our practice to manage our clients data and offer excellent feedback. Cons Well I like least about the software was that at times it could be a little difficult to find certain tabs but once you got the hang of it it was very user-friendly. He is just strapped to an obsolete software system. Cons Cannot download labs into medical record, must manually load all vaccine serial numbers and expirations into the medical record, cannot send accurate vaccine reminders, no communication software, no text or email options Switched from [Cornerstone Software](https://www.capterra.com/p/99976/Cornerstone-Practice-Management/) It was cloud based. But we had to keep cornerstone to send our vaccine reminders. We have added another software, Evet practice, wow what a difference. Still not perfect but usable and up to date. Easy to separate billing for different companies under the same roof. Able to upload files in order to go paperless. Easy to set up doctor schedules for appointment scheduling. Can easily be made to animal hospital specifications and needs. Cons Not the easiest to upload or find the dates when uploaded. If the clients have the same name, sometimes can be difficult in detecting who is whom. Completely reliant on server. I don't have any other positive comments but need a 100 word minimum so I am typing this sentence. Cons There are so many glitches with this software. Every new release brings more bugs. Every patch to fix said bugs, creates more bugs. I purchased a module to integrate our lab results with our reference lab and it never worked correctly. Animal Intelligence blamed the reference lab and the reference lab blamed Animal Intelligence. After months of trying to work through this problem I finally gave up and requested our money back as the product was faulty. I was denied a refund despite the fact that the module never worked properly. Not once. After 17 years with Animal Intelligence I was floored they would not offer a refund. I threatened to find a new software and bid me farewell! I was appalled. We ended up switching softwares and am so happy we did. Another clinic nearby was using Animal Intelligence and also purchased the lab module to have the same issues we did. They also requested their money back and were also denied. 10 years ago the software was great and customer service was awesome.
