Also, that you can assign policies to send more frequent alerts for critical equipment vs other non-mission critical equipment. Cons The text alerts can be misleading because they don't include entire message. Example would be that you receive text alert about a switch, but you don't know if the switch is down or just a port is down. You have go and then check the e-mail to see the entire message. Or when something is getting close to causing you headaches. Don't be in the dark or find out on a Friday night that your server crashed when you could easily avoid it with proper notifications. Cons Interface is not intuitive and could use a redesign. Once you figure out it your ok but takes some googeling to find functionality. Custom notifications windows could use a serious rework. When analyzing network traffic, the ability to filter down to a specific devices' traffic has allowed me to identify networking issues on multiple occasions. Cons Challenges working with web interface, sometimes there are issues with certain browsers not being able to perform certain functions. Free tools now will do the same thing with the same amount of work. Pros It was the ease of use, but that's going away. The ability to use a single service monitor to monitor multiple devices. Too bad thats going away. Cons It's gotten cumbersome to use and now the monitors all need to be scripted vs a generic monitor you can use for multiple devices.
