Pros It works as it is supposed to, but my most liked feature is the customer service. The app/tool can be great 99% of the time, but that one time you need help, you want that support ASAP, and Aweber delivers this in spades. Cons The recent cost increase. Even though it was the first major increase in a very, very long time, still, anytime you have to rework your budget to keep the tools you have used as much as Aweber, it is a hassle. But, without the increase in cost, how can we, as customers, expect Aweber to keep up with technology with their spending? Publisher Publishing Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "A Little Too Much for a Lot Too Little" December 30, 2024 3.0 I joined AWeber on the advice of more than a few people in my circles, with the strongest accolade being about the superb customer support. Indeed, the service and support were, for the most part, excellent. They have good people at AWeber. My stay with AWeber lasted until recently (December 2024) when they decided to increase their prices while not really updating their services. The services at AWeber are at this point more than a touch behind other email service providers. The WYSIWYG email builder is wonky; the form generator is ancient; the templates are at are best not-bad and at worst atrocious; and the overall interface is lagging behind other companies, especially at the new price point. So, this combined with the new pricing made me look elsewhere -- and, believe me, I am glad that I did, because I found a couple other companies that are much better. One aspect of AWeber that was fantastic was their allowance of using multiple lists. That made sending emails for different businesses easy. But there is one down note about their customer service: when I emailed them about the massive price increase as well as a tacked-on fee, the response was what one would best call "glib." In their email they asserted how infrequently they increase prices and that what they're offering is more than worth the money and that if I wanted to decrease my costs all I had to do was delete some contacts and . . . You get the idea. It was the tone of the email, though, that made it somewhat condescending. AWeber overall is a good company, which is fine. The problem is that we're in a world in which a company has to be better than good. AWeber stumbled at this and didn't make my job easier. I wish them well, though I am happy they forced me to look elsewhere because I definitely found better -- and at a much lower price point. Pros AWeber is known for its fantastic customer service and support -- and deservedly so. The service and support personnel at AWeber are second-to-none: they are quick, knowledgable, open, and personable. Cons The issue that made me leave AWeber was primarily pricing, although to state that it was pricing alone would be incorrect. It would be correctly stated as well as be what I disliked most about AWeber was the price-to-quality ratio. Simply put, they decided to charge too much for too little. The problem I encountered was when transferring an email list over from another provider. Not everyone clicked the link to resubscribe and I lost thousands from their software. I couldn't send them another email from there. I understand the requirement to resubscribe but this was an existing list from another provider. I also lost clients and friends from my list who were confused as to why they no longer received emails. They had to go to my website and sign up again. I couldn't contact others to do the same - because I couldn't email them! Years of building a list was gone. Pros Aweber is straightforward and has a good interface and a no-nonsense approach to email marketing. Their pricing is fair and you pay more as your list grows giving you the chance to get started without an inflated cost. Cons I found them to be really restrictive with my email list and I lost a lot of subscribers. It was always user friendly and never created any frustrating days. I’d definitely recommend it to someone. Pros I liked that it guaranteed the deliverability of emails. I like how you don’t have to have people opt in to get them on your email list and rather customize it there. I liked that it would integrate with a lot of software. Cons I think the price compared to how many people you can have in the campaign isn’t very good. It’s too high for what you get. It's inexpensive and includes a landing page builder. The program gives you the option of allowing people to subscribe to your email list via single or double opt-in. Aweber has several integrations with reliable third-party tools and apps. All of their email templates are mobile-friendly. Cons There are less expensive choices available that offer significantly more capabilities in the marketing automation field. Also, while sending an e-newsletter, you can't include or exclude several segments. The RSS to email templates are inadequate, and they aren't editable with Aweber's regular drag-and-drop email builder. August 7, 2021 5.0 Aweber is great, it has benefited me in many ways with my email campaigns. I know exactly who is opening my emails and clicking on referral links or sales pages in my automations. That way I can create accurate reports for non-interacting people or buyers and etc... This is a big help to increase your sales, because you can focus a strong campaign on the right people, just by looking at the reports generated by the tool. I have an excellent relationship with aweber, the first 3 months were tense, but she helped me to get the necessary results to continue in the fight. Pros An extremely fantastic tool when it comes to email delivery. Incredible accuracy of my automations. Without a doubt it's one of the best I've ever used. A great help for those who are just starting out and don't have much capital to invest. Because aweber allows you to use and learn about the tool for free for 3 months. In addition to the company's integrity in providing knowledge to its customers and users, they fill their inbox with hundreds of emails almost daily, but it's just to inform about the tool and its features, free courses and lectures for better performance. aweber support is very good and fast, prompt service, they always solved problems for me immediately. Also, I used several free Landing Pages templates with fantastic layouts and almost automatic. I just needed to choose the model and just type a call to action. For everything, I recommend aweber, an outstanding service. Cons Negative points about this tool, I don't have. But just an addendum, for those outside the US and needing to use the tool, it's a great idea while using the free months. But if you're setting up and collecting leads in your campaigns, no results. You may get frustrated, as the payment will be a little expensive, taking into account the dollar's value in relation to other countries. But on the whole, I have no criticisms about this software. Over the years competition has been improving a lot and cutting down the price while Aweber stayed the same while raising prices. I was also disappointed when I realized I was charged multiple times for one email address (for each list), and also for unsubscribes. Have to get in touch with support for them to delete in batches. Good support, that being said. Over the years I got frustrated by using the software and how much I was paying for it. Pros Deliverability to subscribers inbox. Aweber is a reference and well known so email do get in people's inbox. However that has changed in recent years in my country (France). I enjoyed the drip sequence (emails are sent in order over days), but that feature is now available in competitors for cheaper, sometimes better. Customer support has been great, very fast, friendly and responsive. Cons Templates are quite dated and the general interface is a bit limited. For example, you can only delete 100 subscribers at a time... even if you are charged for the unsubscribed users. Pricing is quite high considering the features. Too high for the money I make with the list. Languages : some part of the software are "hardcoded" in English which is problematic for foreign subscribers. I'd been a loyal customer for several years, but when things went wrong they did so so disastrously and caused real damage to our business. When you're emailing thousands of people, technical glitches are not OK, especially if they can't be explained. Ironically, it's only been moving to another provider that has really served to highlight how dated Aweber is. Pros AWeber was my first email marketing system and I was happy with it for several years. It's fairly easy to use despite having a rather clunky and old-fashioned interface. Email deliverability is reasonably good and the support team responds quickly. It's also staffed with people and not bots. Cons Sadly, Aweber completely destroyed an email campaign and lost me money. I had set up a sequence of emails and twice been on to support so they could confirm it was done correctly. When the time came, the emails went out in the wrong order, annoying customers I'd spent years building up and making our company look very unprofessional.
