This is of course very nice but when using prorgamama the first time I panicked because there are too many possibilities. This can be improved for example to basis libraries and as the extras other libraries. Integrating 3D objects did not work Pros I liked that many models were available on cloud as an additional resource. Also with questions that team was ready for you immediately Cons However, I had to switch programs. Anylogic was not able to work with objects created in autocad in a .dae format. I got interested with the use-cases, and looked into cloud library. Then I started creating some real scenarios in the tool to learn modeling and simulation. Proud to say that I made a small transportation simulation that replicates local transport system of my town. Every possible and required options are available in the software. Cons I learned AnyLogic on my own, by going through guide book and videos. I created the model but it was difficult to operate. I felt that UX can be improved. When I zoom in or zoom out or scroll, it was not intuitive. Since there are different versions (free, paid), it is not clear which programming library will work and which not. I honestly couldn't find any other software that does the job like this one, it's honestly the most helpful tool out there, and certainly, super fun to use too. Pros I love how easy it is to use compared to other simulation software. Programming is also extremely efficient. The 3d engine works like a charm and I honestly couldn't be happier with it. It has all of the necessary guides online to easily get started, so you can learn the basics in less than an hour. Customer support is extremely helpful, their answer times are short and they treat you really well. Security wise, I didn't have any issues at all. It also seems extremely worth it, specially when you work at a company. Cons The only issue I had was the amount of tools locked behind a paywall. Some of this would be helpful in the student edition (like the git feature and having the limitation to not be able to use web sockets). Its usefull because im using the SD and AB at the same time to simulate the water flow, and the water demand from people. The tutorials were also very great, which as a student, I really appreciate! Cons I found that the UI was at first difficult to learn. But with the help of the tutorials I managed to overcome the difficulties. I was becoming jaded in academia until I was sent on a training to learn to use it and it's just so versatile that it makes me have faith in academia again because we don't all have to use one hammer and make everything a nail. It allows me to be creative and artistic in ways other packages don't, but it could use more ways for sure (such as in aligning text or objects more easily or better graphics). Pros It's the most versatile of the software packages for systems modeling by a landslide. From the methods that can be implemented to the ability to connect or interface with other programs and tools, it is the complete package. Most others only focus on one tool or maybe two (such as most system dynamics software). Cons Learning to code is very hard for it and they need better examples and more support. They also could really work on the graphics or at least ability for users to connect to make their own graphics. The price is so high that it's very hard for me as a junior academic to get someone to fund even the university edition and has always been an issue. I would absolutely love to be getting to use this tool more but the costs and time it takes for me to code as someone that's not trained in the field are costly. Cons Not easy to use, expert in technical relevant field is not enough, you have to adopt and learn the basic or terms of Anylogic which it is using, data graphs and visuals are not available fo big data, same there is no any option to work on it with live data or existing erp to simulate the scenarios based on actual data.
