### "Quality Software for Plastic Surgery"

I have used a number of EMR systems in the past and reviewed almost all of the packages available for plastic surgery. PatientNow is, in my mind, the clear winner for value, functionality, CRM, ease of use and reporting.

Pros

Great for automation of patient reminders and thus retention. Relatively simple to use as compared to other packages I have reviewed. Good support.

Cons

It is Windows based and thus the new cloud functionality is not as clean as if it was an IOS app but it is getting better with every update.

It is a great way to communicate with our patient base. Its easy to use, and a great way to keep track of appointments, communications, and the ability to see how happy our patients are with our office. Would recommend to another practice any day.

Pros

This software makes scheduling appointments easy and quick for our office and our patients. A good part of our patients love the ease in communicating with our office via text/email.

Cons

There aren't very many bad things to say about this software. Its great all around.

### "Great for note taking"

Although the support staff responds quickly, normally bugs and enhancements are put on a waiting list which never gets worked on.

Pros

The providers love the ability to write SOAP notes.

Cons

The financial reports are weak. It is a nightmare every month to pull out the numbers for our accountants. Also, when we write notes, the data on the notes sometimes disappears even after saving the document. This has always occurred, and PN has never figured out why saving does not always work.

Not using paper has been great. Communication between users has been helpful. Easy to pull reports and collect data on patients, marketing, etc. Glitchy online portal and some basic note templates has been frustrating.

Pros

Designed towards cosmetic practices. Reports help track patients, referrals, and marketing efforts well. Relatively quick to complete charts.

Cons

Online patient portal is very glitchy. Some basic changes to templates should be easier to change. Billing software is difficult to use.

We bought the program hoping to speed up our work . We have not but instead we have slowed down. We constantly have software issues. Functions that worked before do not work after. The system is not compatible with multiple locations and hospital computers. Basic functions as scanning and faxing are tedious because of poor design. Server option is very slow certain times every day.

Pros

Everything in in one platform and that would ideally make it a great solution for the office.

Cons

It would be nice if it worked effectively

It's pretty straight forward and easy to learn

Pros

Customer support is amazing. They answer in a timely manner. They explain how to use the feature that I am asking about and if they are not sure, they let me know that they will find out for me. They then follow up in a timely manner with an answer

Not as many features as what I am used to with other EMRs

Total crooks. Won’t refund or deliver.

Pros

Some functions and resorting are better than most EMRs out there, which is not saying a lot. Unfortunately this company is a complete disaster. Between the poor customer service, the turn around in fixing issues, the disorganized way that this software is taught, and the lack of action to make right issues that have arisen are a few examples of why you should be VERY leery to work with this company.

Cons

the company is a complete nightmare to work with and the software has many holes

Amazing experience overall and one that I would recommend to anyone!

Pros

This system is great for a smaller business like mine or larger surgical practices like my husband's. The actual software is easy to use and easily learned by even new employees.

Cons

The constant updates can be frustrating as there are times that updates do not go through completely and then you have the system that is not running at peak speeds.

When we integrated the PN merchant credit card processing, we have a few problems with card readers not working properly. It took several weeks to get the problems resolved.

I utilize customer support quite often, overall pretty decent.

Pros

I like how Patient Now bridges the gap between medical practice software and aesthetic treatments. It's user friendly and the addition of ramp and pulse has helped on the managerial side.

Cons

There are many features "in the works" and it's a small team.

Reason for choosing PatientNow

We used it in the past and the ramp/pulse/cloud based upgrades were everything we were looking for in the price range we needed.

I feel we didn't get enough training for the whole staff. we have to go through too many steps to accomplish one thing. we are a busy practice we don't have time to take 10 minutes to check people out while 5-6 people are waiting.

Easily adaptable to individual practice.

Produces an Excel version of the reports

Cons

Inability to produce more than one Service Type on an Invoice. Inability to acquire ALL data across the date and type ranges as needed. Requests for help take an average of over 2 weeks to be addressed.

This is a new program to me and I have no other prior Patient Record Management software to compare to except that used in larger hospital settings which do no apply to the niche that PatientNow is covering. Overall, this seems to be a software that despite it's qwirks will be able to be made functional for the business and can be worked with.

Pros

This appears to be a graphical user interface overlayed onto a database which makes a database easier to use. There seem to be a lot of options in place to customize the program and tailor it to your specific business.

Cons

Some of the features that allow customization also are restrictive in how customizable it can be. There seem to be formatting issues with how document templates are merged together to create a final document. Also certain tabs are not customizable even though they seem they should be.

Reason for choosing PatientNow

At the recommendation of other practioners in the same industry who HAVE had experience with other similar software in our industry.

It has been just ok. The start up was slow with the person we had assigend to us. Once we were assigend to a different representative, we got better service. We still don't know all there is to know with this program which is disappointing

Pros

The software scheduling is easy to learn but we need more help with everything else there is to offer

Cons

It can be slow at times and technical support is not available 24/7. So if you go down, you are at the mercy of their hours for help.

So far it's been good, with some minor issues that have been resolvable by the customer service team.

Pros

Its straightforward and easy to use for a computer savvy person like me.

Cons

Creating Templates can be cumbersome and some of the typical font features are not available. For example the spacing was off on a document and I had no way of correcting the spacing (as in the paragraph parameters feature).

Pros

The automatic email/text appointment reminders to patients.

Cons

Upgrades are always buggy. Be prepared to call support the day after an upgrade. We purchased the escript plug-in 2 weeks ago and it still hasn't been installed. Numerous calls to Patient Now and we're still waiting. Very frustrating.

The set up was a disaster. Maybe that's because it's 2020 so we had to do the build with no help on site. But we also found implementation staff to be unfamiliar with the system. Incomplete and incorrect information have been very costly to our practice needing to redo many aspects of the initial build. There were also a lot of problems when we went live.

Pros

The pathways have the greatest impact to practice/ patient communication. They can be an amazing tool when used properly.

Cons

The way the system is organized makes it very difficult to find certain functionalities and ensure accuracy within the system. There is a lot of room for improvement.

I have used patient now in several different offices. It is good patient management software and makes daily transactions easy. I really like the ability to customize our documents. the scheduler is easy to use. The ability to communicate with patients by text message is a huge time saver.

Pros

The patient data base and storage capacity. Being able to have a cloud server has been a good upgrade.

Cons

The reporting is frustrating. Often the report I want is not available to extract with the data I want to look at.

Pros

Good overall system. I feel that the software allows many different venues to track patient care and treatments. It has built in steps to help providers complete charts.

Cons

Unable to drill down when running reports. Example: Need products for one manufacturer but not able to select manufacturer or unable to view comment when running the discount report.

Some features are considered add-ons and cost a lot of money. These are not really economical for a small practice to purchase.
