### "So user friendly even a grandma can navigate "

January 31, 2026

5.0

It was a smoother transition switching from another popular payroll app which i am greatful for. Not a headache at all. The app is easy to navigate and has a lot more features than the other. 100% i like it.

Pros

I am a grandma i didnt have computer class i had typewriter class so i am not tech savvy at all. I was nervous having to use a new app. However to my surprise navigation of the app is simple. I love that you can clock in and out on the app and can look at your hours with ease and if there is a discrepancy you are able to put in a request to have it changed to the hours on the clock you know to be true like if you forget to punch in or out. It gets fixed so fast. Keeping your work hours accurate for the pay period.

Cons

Putting in for PTO on an emergency and then having it approved only to have it denied right before payday. I wish it would send a notification text saying this was the case so i wasnt shocked at my paycheck. Some of us depend on a certain amount of money on payday and when its 400 dollars short it is a shocker and stresser.

### "Best Multi-Use HRIS Platform"

February 12, 2026

5.0

Great experience with an all-in-one platform that continues to provide more value and access to information for our employees.

Pros

Separate Modules. You can start small with Time & Labor and HR & Payroll and then later add on modules like Recognition & Rewards or Performance. Peak Articles: Helpful AI and Articles that can provide assistance without having to reach out to a representative.

Cons

There is a learning curve. Once the Paylocity language is learned, it makes it so much easier to explain what the issue is that you are experiencing when you have to chat with a customer service representative.

### "Paylocity for all of your hiring and HR needs!"

February 13, 2026

5.0

It has been easy to learn and we had a great support team helping us set up and learn everything from the Custom Fields to the Events we launch in the Onboarding.

Pros

I love that we can go from the initial application to an active employee. I love that we can store everything within the employee profile. Even with each employee having their own profile, it is easy to pull reports on basically all of the things we need.

Cons

I don't like that when there are major changes that the issues are not worked out before doing so. An example would be the latest I-9 roll out. The process is now 100 percent better, but there were quite a few errors along the way.

### "3 Stars: Okay, Not Great"

February 19, 2026

3.0

Frustrating, but good enough. It's unfortunate to give such a lukewarm review, especially when the platform has so much potential, but as-is, it's really just not excellent.

Pros

Overall it's pretty customizable, so we can create different access levels for all relevant contributors and paylocity doesn't limit the number of contributors you can have. Additionally, some of the modules (performance, recognition, etc.) are pretty intuitive!

Cons

Customer support is extremely hit-or-miss, and honestly mostly miss in our experience. Additionally, there are a ton of limitations that really haven't been addressed in the 3 years since our company switched to paylocity.

### "impressive functionality & continuous improvement"

January 29, 2026

5.0

Overall, Paylocity’s software is powerful, intuitive, and designed to support modern, paperless workflows.

Pros

Paylocity is a powerful and easy-to-use payroll platform with impressive functionality. The software includes thoughtful features like built-in payroll notes that make it easy to stay completely paperless and keep all documentation in one place. The seamless integration from recruiting and onboarding through payroll was a key reason we chose Paylocity, and it truly delivers an efficient, all-in-one experience.

Cons

Keeping a good payroll account manager. Whenever we've had a good one assigned, they get promoted or leave the company. On the positive side we've had great luck with the random service rep you get when you call in for help.

### "All in one game changer!"

February 26, 2026

5.0

We have continually added features in Paylocity and grown the system to our needs. Payroll is great, but also having expense reimbursement, spending account management, recruiting capabilities and COBRA all in one place as been a game changer for us!

Pros

Paylocity can handle and streamline all of our company's needs in one place. From recruiting, to training and through offboarding, Paylocity has supported our needs in every way.

Cons

During Benefits open enrollment the last two years, I have worked with a person (2) who has very little experience and it's been frustrating and time consuming.

### "Neutral Satisfaction"

February 26, 2026

3.0

Neutral. With separate systems and teams, it takes more effort than expected to resolve issues involving more than one system or team. It feels as if Paylocity's system has plateaued in dashboards, benefits, reporting and overall system functionality. I'm starting to feel that other platforms can offer a more dynamic and supportive option with easier interfaces, insights and reporting.

Pros

Consolidating all services into one integrated platform. We use Recruiting, Onboarding, HRIS, Benefits (Bswift) to COBRA (WEX), including Section 125 spending accounts, and Compensation modules.

Cons

Annual Benefits process for Open Enrollment. The experience with a new team for our 2026 OE was the most challenging of my career, with multiple errors, workflow issues, incomplete work and many phone calls and emails to reach a resolution. I have no recourse to elevate issues above the team that is problematic. Reporting is challenging. There are many options but not always the ones we need. The report writer to create customer reports is also challenging to use unless you watch training courses. Account and sales managers change without advance notice. It is rare that an account manager will reach out to check in and offer support. Outreach is either reactive to an issue submitted, or to pitch a new offering.

### "A VERY Satisfied Customer!!"

February 26, 2026

5.0

I have used 3 other HR Platforms prior to finding Paylocity and I will NEVER use another. Their customer service is A++, very knowledgeable with prompt attention to any matter. One important aspect of having a company like Paylocity is "trust", I have a lot of trust in the company as a whole. They stand behind their product. I have been with Paylocity for 5 years and continue to be a satisfied customer. They continue to add features across all areas ie: Payroll, HR, Community etc. I would highly recommend Paylocity!

Pros

Paylocity's customer service is excellent. All representatives are very knowledgeable and well trained. If I call with a question or send an email it is promptly addressed. I love their new streamlined Payroll process. It is user friendly and they have a variety of integrations available. Paylocity also has a wide range of reports that you can run or customize. Time and Labor serves our 3 office locations well and is easy to use and integrate into Payroll.

Cons

I am 100% satisfied with the features I use though Paylocity. I do not have the need to utilize some of the modules like workflows, performance or recruiting, so I cannot give an intelligible review on those modules. Personally, I do not have any cons to list for what I use Paylocity for, they meet all of our needs and more!

Initially, I never LOVED the product of Complete Payroll, it was always lacking on HR end. BUT what made me really leave BambooHR was that THEY made an error when they put us on a monthly tax schedule vs bi weekly and it cost us $10k in penalties. They did not take ownership of their mistake even though their representatives initials were logged as having entered the information. At that point, I lost confidence and trust in them. We did stay with them for some time, but that experience soured how I felt about working with them.

### "Paylocity is a good choice."

February 26, 2026

4.0

Paylocity is easy to use for both the employees and administrators. Their representatives are friendly and the cost fits within our budget.

Pros

Paylocity provides the same services as ADP which we used for decades and is much less expensive which works for us as we have under 50 employees.

Cons

We are a small group (under 50 employees). When I call Paylocity for help I'm given a team member that at least half the time cannot answer my question and they have to put in a service ticket for help. It can sometimes take months to resolve an issue especially if it is related to any tax issue.

### "Three Times In, and Paylocity Still Impresses"

February 26, 2026

5.0

This is my third time working with Paylocity, and I continue to bring it to every organization I join because it delivers the right balance: powerful enough for HR and Payroll, yet intuitive, simple, and accessible for everyone else. Paylocity also consistently enhances its platform in meaningful ways. Most importantly, I’ve always experienced a genuine ‘people‑first’ culture in how you support and care for your employees.

Pros

I love the philosophy behind everything you do about your product and services. It aligns well with ours. It's designed to support human decisions, not just process transactions. It's usable and intuitive. And it's agile to the changing needs of the clients.

Cons

While I’m very satisfied overall, I do wish the Performance and Compensation modules were more robust.

From our rushed implementation we needed to our end employees interactions with the app and system. We have been very happy with our team, the service and our everyday tasks. I would highly recommend anyone using Paylocity as it checks all the boxes for price, usability and available products included with the system.

Pros

It is extremely easy to use. The cost is extremely competitive compared to other products. The staff is very knowledgeable and very helpful. The system is very efficient and simple to navigate.

Cons

### "Value vs Results Can't be Beat"

February 2, 2026

4.0

Every system has its pros and cons but with Paylocity the pros far outweigh the cons. They are also continually developing the system in positive ways which makes me optomistic that they will develop into an even better system over time.

Pros

As an HR Consultant who uses all the HR systems out there, Paylocity is the one I recommend the most. The functionality for its price point can't be beat and can be used as a true "all in one" system without the need for supplemental systems. It is also relatively user-friendly.

Cons

I wish they offered more functionality in the employee app (ex. ability to update direct deposit and sign off on reviews). I also wish the format of the reports was more friendly to filtering and pivot tables.

### "Paylocity HR & Payroll removes the stress from single person department!"

February 12, 2026

4.0

Moving the department into 20th century has been excellent. The department as a whole is enjoying the platform and ease of use. Administration enjoys the reporting capability and the information that can be gathered so quickly.

Pros

After a full year using Payloicity, my role as one person HR department is easier. Customer support is excellent. Being able to answer employees questions regarding pay and leave is easier than using the old spreadsheet and DOS based payroll system. All the reports which have been set-up and the new options which I'm discovering make the job easier and more pleasant. Had been looking forward to retirement; but, may stay a few more years now. Thanks Paylocity!

Cons

Starting the process, as a one person department it was demanding to get regular task completed and give attention to needs of Paylocity team. I felt rushed and unheard. Now in year two, we are having to make corrections - not ideal; but, working the process. Set-up team was not as knowledgeable in governmental projects as we needed them to be - this did get corrected as we went along.

### "Responsive Customer Support & Robust Features Offsets Learning Curve and UI Challenges"

January 16, 2026

4.0

This vendor / product works very well, is reliable, robust, customizable, and has excellent customer support (better than competitors that we've worked with). We use the product for time & labor tracking, PTO balance tracking, and running payroll - it also offers features for HR document storage and employee performance reviews, but we haven't used those much yet. Due to the robust features and customizability offered, implementation was quite involved, and the UI isn't always intuitive; however, whenever I call customer support, they're very responsive, knowledgeable, and effective. I've been an admin for this product for multiple years, are there are still things I don't understand about pay types, cost centers, export matrices, PTO accruals, etc. The only real headache I've had with this product is the inability to change certain, specific things from my end. For example, editing PTO rules / accrual rates has been difficult in the past - they make me fill out a form with tons of questions (some don't even apply to our usage), and whenever I do that, I feel uncertain whether my responses will result in the effect I hope for. I've heard they're building a client-facing accruals team, which I'm sure will help bridge that gap. All that being said, this product has been very successful for us, and we plan to continue using it for the foreseeable future.

Pros

Customizability is definitely a huge win for this product - editing pay types, earnings, deductions, taxability, PTO accruals - it's really easy once you get past the learning curve. All the settings go quite deep and could be implemented in a vast array of use cases. Customer service - it's easy to get in touch with support, and the team has always been very responsive, knowledgeable, and effective. Time card approvals, time off requests, and manager / supervisor roles work very well. Managing teams is quick and easy (again, once you bridge the learning curve), allowing you to edit supervisors for time off requests, etc. Departmental mapping has been a win for us. Paylocity also seems to release frequent product updates, so they're definitely investing in the product's future with innovations. I love the "check calculator" feature, which allows us to input checks into payroll that we print outside of the software.

Cons

The inability to edit our own PTO accrual settings (or, at least, easily) was a pain point for us, and took quite a while to sort out through multiple attempts and form submissions. I dislike how often I have to switch between the "Time & Labor" section and the "HR & Payroll" section. I wish those two were a bit more seamless, as they work together closely - I often open two tabs at the same time so I can have one page open on each tab, just to reference info or accomplish a task. Lastly, I dislike how complex and vast the UI is. It serves its purpose well and can be highly tailored to any use, but I often find myself clicking around trying to find that "one page with the little setting on it." If I need a feature or setting changed, I often call support, as that seems to work more quickly than navigating the UI.

### "Where Paylocity Shines—and Where It Stumbles"

January 29, 2026

3.0

Overall, it has been a learning experience with Paylocity. It has it's ups an downs like most systems. They are expanding but are still in the early stages of the program, but Paylocity has come a long way since we first joined.

Pros

Friendly account managers that are willing to go above and beyond to help. The updates that are rolling in are addressing the issues that we had been having.

Cons

The integrations between modules are not as seamless as they should be. Examples are Time & Labor does not interact very well with time off in HR& Payroll. Recruiting module has its downfalls, such as not being able to extract all candidate data to a csv or xls file where the employer can better filter for candidates.

There was a reduction in cost because we let go of all the additional reports & analytics that ADP provided.

### "Paylocity is a wonderful program"

November 21, 2025

5.0

Paylocity is a very user-friendly program that makes it very easy to process payroll and manage employees and their benefits. The ability to create so many different types of reports is a vast improvement over previous programs. The community section is nice so employees can chat and share messages and announcements.

Pros

The customer service is top notch. When our company was transitioning from Paycom to Paylocity their customer support team went above and beyond to make sure our team had everything we needed every step of the way during the transition. And since we've been using Paylocity whenever we have a question the customer support team is excellent about answering our questions and assisting our employees get the help they need to do their jobs.

Cons

Sometimes changes to the layout of the dashboard can be a little confusing at first but once you take a look around you get acclimated pretty quickly.

### "Great Product and Service for the Price"

November 21, 2025

4.0

Overall I had a very positive experience with Paylocity and it's a system I would recommend to others. No system is perfect, but I think they provide a really great product and service for the price. Not only that, they are always looking for ways to enhance the products and stay ahead of the evolving technology.

Pros

Paylocity is extremely user-friendly, and I appreciate that when I'm not sure how to do something I can easily refer to the Knowledge Base which has answers to most of my questions. If I still can't figure something out, I can call the Service Center and usually get an answer. They are also quite prompt at responding to email tickets, even if it's just to acknowledge they've received the ticket and it will take a little more digging in to.

Cons

The implementation process was a little bumpy for us. The account manager assigned to our implementation was transitioning to a new role which unfortunately left us falling behind from the very start as he wasn't as engaged as he needed to be. Our new account manager was great, but because of the tighter timeframe, we weren't able to implement the Benefits piece at the same time as the other system go-lives which was disappointing.

Reason for choosing Paylocity

Pricing was more reasonable for our size company.

### "Great service, great product! "

February 12, 2026

5.0

Best customer service and a great value, unlike ADP that charges for every little thing. Paylocity's customer service team are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

Pros

The platform is extremely easy to use. Reporting doesn't require and IT background, it is very simple to use. Our employees find the mobile app to be user friendly and reliable.

Cons

Sometimes the system seems to glitch while processing payroll. Not a huge deal, because I process well before my cut off time. I have found logging out and back in fixes it.

### "Employee centered Platform "

February 26, 2026

5.0

From a payroll leadership perspective, I appreciate the system’s integration between payroll, HR, and time & labor. That connectivity reduces manual processes, improves data accuracy, and strengthens audit controls, which are critical at scale. The platform is also user-friendly, which is excellent for staff at different levels.

Pros

I am especially impressed by how the Paylocity platform integrates payroll with HR, benefits, and workforce management. From a director-level perspective, that level of integration allows for stronger data integrity, better reporting, and more strategic insights for clients. There is also great customer support and ease of use.

Cons

One area that could be improved in Paylocity is the customization of reporting. Sometimes generating highly specific reports requires extra steps or workarounds. That said, it helped me develop stronger problem-solving skills.

### "Review of Paylocity for Multi-State Operations"

November 20, 2025

4.0

Overall, Paylocity offers a strong platform with great features. However, our business operates across multiple states, which adds complexity and creates challenges on the back end.

Pros

It’s easy to use and intuitive, with a wide variety of articles available. The AI Assist feature is especially helpful, providing guidance and suggesting relevant articles for further support.

Cons

We have experienced several challenges with Paylocity, including occasional inaccuracies in time-off accruals and balance transfers, incompatibility with employees in American Samoa which requires manual work, and improperly configured EDI. Additionally, customer support could be improved, as resolution times are often long even with a dedicated manager, and frequent changes in account managers (at least three times a year) create inconsistencies. The AI handbook feature is not suitable for us since we have 2 handbooks, California and Multi-State.

### "Reliable System With Strong Support"

November 21, 2025

4.0

My overall experience has been very positive. The support team is consistently helpful and easy to collaborate with, and the Paylocity newsletters are a great resource. They provide clear updates on upcoming enhancements and new features, which helps us stay ahead of changes and plan accordingly.

Pros

First of all, I appreciate the way the system is designed — not because it’s “pretty,” but because it’s truly easy on the eyes. For someone who spends a significant amount of time working in the program, that matters. The clean, intuitive layout also makes navigation easier for employees, which is a big plus. I also like that the system is customizable. Being able to tailor features to our specific billing processes and organizational needs has been incredibly helpful and saves a lot of time. Customer service is in my top three priorities. I really value having a dedicated and knowledgeable service team that understands our account setup. The team has also been consistently responsive, which makes a huge difference in our day-to-day work.

Cons

The primary issues we’ve experienced are related to technical glitches. Employees often mention having to enter their login information twice in a row, which can be frustrating. We’ve also seen instances in the Performance module where pasted text doesn’t always save correctly. These aren’t constant issues, but when they happen, they interrupt workflow and create confusion for users.

### "Paylocity is easy enough, I'd recommend it."

January 30, 2026

4.0

Overall, for day to day use I like it. It's a lot better than some platforms other places I have worked used. It sends you a lot of notifications, so you'll know when you've missed a punch, or if you have a W2 ready.

Pros

It's very easy to use to clock in and out. Also, you can find you're company's calendar in it to stay updated on events. You can easily access your time sheet, or check stubs.

Cons

It uses your location to allow you to clock in. I don't mind that but it's a little wonky sometimes. For instance, I may be in the office trying to clock out but it says, I'm trying to clock out from an unauthorized location. Then I have to keep refreshing the app or walking around. Also, it's a little hard to navigate to certain information on the app compared to the website.
