Pros Shopify have irresistible offer for new users for first three months where they provide one dollar per month charges .so it's number one option for startups to choose Shopify .the user interface is simple and beginner friendly. Cons The Shopify payment is not available in countries like India which makes it difficult to receive payments although there are other third party payment providers like paypal ,razorpay and others which integrate very well .but I hope that Shopify payment will be made available in india as well . I also really appreciate the 24/7 chat and call support; they are usually very quick to resolve technical hiccups. There was also little customer support and long queues. Pros I enjoyed the easy user interface, combined marketplace selling feature such as via social media, through third party apps, or even in person/point of sale, as well as the high performance levels of the app and its affiliates. Cons However, what I disliked about Shopify is the charges, fees, limited usage with other apps, and the "gamey" nature of the app, in that it sometimes feels more like a reward system than an ecosystem. February 13, 2026 4.0 It has allowed our website to be more than it once was and because of that we have seen increased sales through switching platforms. Pros It is something we use everyday. It hosts our website as well as allows customers to place orders through it. They pay for their order through it either via paypal or debit/ credit card. We use outside IT support to help run the website. It is more complicated to learn the back end of the website than our past website host but it has allowed us more functionality at the front end, which was our goal in switching. Cons It has a lot to learn when you switch over to it. We have had to purchase/ pay for add on's to get the functionality we need. However, there are fewer issues and more functionality with 2.0 themes. I have yet to switch to the latest block-based themes and hope to maintain a stable 2.0 for a bit longer. Pros I was able to quickly create a professional e-commerce store with a free template, and there are many options for customization. Shopify continues to add functionality. Cons Shopify relies heavily on paid apps for functionality. Stacking subscriptions for what could be considered basic functionality can be expensive. Also, this requires additional time to research; the apps can slow down the site and conflict with each other. However the cons will be constant pain in the neck that will be impossible to solve. Example complex checout rules have rely on multiple external apps and are very difficult to manage and maintain. Pros Shopify takes care of many things for you such as hosting, platform and payments and wallets. Shopify offers an extensive variety of apps to help you extend its functionality Cons You are bound by shopify’s rules and it can be extremely difficult to ad bespoke functionality. It's reasonably priced and has great abilities to integrate. Its ability to be customized is getting better over the years. So far, it's one of the best options out there for e-commerce. Pros The out-of-the-box e-commerce solution is stellar, and it's relatively easy for people with a base understanding of CMS to thrive quickly. It integrates with so many other platforms, whether you're selling your own physical product or starting into Print on Demand. The base website and free templates are easy to set up and adjust and the paid templates give you great flexibility. Cons Their billing Cycle. They run on a 30-day cycle, meaning that nearly every two months, you need to adjust your Bill Pay, or they'll try to bill, and your budget won't be aligned. I tried contacting support to see if there are any other options, and unfortunately, there are not. Cons I find the themes are difficult. - purchased. There are some that I don't think shopify should have listed. I purchased an expensive one that had no customer service, to email or call. I went from manually typing in orders on behalf of customers, to orders being automatically ingested, which frees up my time immensely. Pros I love that Shopify can easily integrate into our companies POS system. As a 3PL, it is important that we can easily ingest orders and get them out the door as quickly as possible for our clients. Cons I really don't have any complaints about Shopify. I will say it does take a bit of a tech-savvy user to use it, so maybe if anything, it could be slightly more user friendly.
