Overall, my experience with MatrixCare Home Health & Hospice was very positive. The software is intuitive, reliable, and makes clinical documentation feel streamlined rather than overwhelming. It supported my workflow, reduced duplicate charting, and helped me stay organized both in the field and in the office. While there are areas that could benefit from more customization, MatrixCare consistently provided a smooth, efficient charting experience and ultimately made my day-to-day work easier and more consistent.

Pros

What I liked most about MatrixCare Home Health & Hospice was how truly user-friendly it is. The software made day-to-day workflow feel seamless, reducing extra steps and helping me stay efficient in the field. It’s genuinely the best charting system I’ve used—intuitive, organized, and designed in a way that supports clinicians rather than slowing them down.

Cons

One drawback I experienced with MatrixCare Home Health & Hospice was that certain features lacked customization, which sometimes made it difficult to tailor documentation to unique patient needs. While the system is overall very efficient, a bit more flexibility in templates and workflows would make it even stronger.

I have been very happy with program. I've gotten tired of one program doing one type of task very well but being limited when it comes to other functions.

Pros

Finally a program that can help with multiple issues such as scheduling, keeping employee information and client information and actually doing all things well.

Cons

As with all new programs it does take a while to learn all the ends and outs of each desired component.

I have said numerous times, "It is appropriately named." Mostly because it is "Matrix" like due to how expansive it is.

Pros

User friendly. Easy layout. Easy to train with. Has a plethora of options. Will actually do more than I need it to.

Cons

Had no choice in choosing this platform. But, overall it helps us accomplish all we need to for patient care.

overall poor i would suggest PCC always as this is the most popular and user friendly EMR.

Generally their help desk staff are very helpful. Sometimes they too are limited at what can be done. It seems that at least most things that are not able to be fixed at the current moment, do end up on their future update list.It would be great, if Agencies were able to have more options and have better control of what we need to have or would like to be able to make mandatory or not. Or to be able to include different groups/types/selections of things to pick from.

Pros

Syncing - it takes seconds to a minute to complete. Staff can sync their ipads as often as they want/need and information flows back and forth instantly. Software has it's own billing module within the same program. - You do not have to transfer files back and forth using a third party billing software. Chatting with Support - As long as they are available (they are not always available though).

Cons

Clinical App vs Live Version - It is basically like having two different software systems. While they both contain the same info; certain things can only be done on the live version and certain things can only be done on the mobile app. - This is probably our biggest frustration. It make it harder to help out staff when they have issues because after implementation if you change your processes it's hard for office staff to stay up-to-date with new processes and updates that have happened . Charting/Scheduling/etc. - Some of the ways things need to be fixed or the only way they can be fixed is sometimes greatly time consuming. Customizable - The system is not as customizable as lead to believe. There are quite a few things that we are not able to change to customize for our agency. Speech to text - Doesn't really work for our staff. We ended up buying Bluetooth keyboards for the iPad to make charting a little easier. Admissions still take a long time.. It's not possible to be done in less then 6 hours.Medication list - importing and entering in meds is not as easy as it should be.

Pros

This EMR system has a nice swipe through method. Many questions making it very thorough and reliable system.

Cons

The system has long notes and documentation. For some evaluations, there are questions not meant for the specific discipline making it long for all therapists to complete. There are more therapist friendly EMR systems out there.

MatrixCare allows all of our home health care documentation from patient care to back office administration, managing employees and billing prep to take place in one system. The amount of time spent documenting has decreased, lower the stress and increasing work/home life balance for my clinicians.

Pros

Ease of navigation with documentation designed for point of service documentation . Customer service is responsive and knowledgable.

Cons

The cost is definately something to consider. With each new added feature there comes an associated cost. Training new staff or refreshing existing staff also has an associated cost. The jump in price from 99 patient - >100 patients was shocking.

Pros

\*To start, this review is coming from a CNA. Nurses use MatrixCare and there experience might differ from mine. As a CNA, I think Matrix is great. It's easy to chart on a patient using a kiosk on the floor, on a desktop computer, or by using an IPad. You can view the electronic health record easily for each patient. Once you chart on something, the red outline that indicates that it's due goes away.

Cons

Matrix is not the best software to document positioning, which is why many facilities will create their own paper charts.
