Pros Planning Center was made for churches and by people who work in churches. It is super easy, user friendly, and works well with a variety of different things that are essential in church software. The value of money is great. It is affordable and customer service is awesome! Cons For me personally, there’s not a lot of cons when it comes to Planning Center. I think one of the cons is that you have to be specific when looking something up in the Help form for any of the apps within Planning Center. I sometimes wish there was more videos about each app within but it does a good job. Review Source IS Isaac S. Reliable software for managing members. Pros Helps us track our attendees, schedule volunteers and service positions, and allows us to safely and effectively sign-in children and students in-lieu of a headcount. Cons Price is significantly higher than it ought to be, simply because they can get away with it. There isn't a ton of high-quality competition in this space, so P.C. can get away with charging what it does. We never experience error issues; there's always support to help us navigate any questions we have. There's also integration of vital functions like background checks. Planning Center helps keep all our teams communicating and unified. Pros Planning Center is the most vital tool we use for our non-profit. Through it we manage our teams, income, contacts, registrations, calendar, and service order development. It keeps us moving and on track to accomplish our ministry goals. It's extremely effective in helping to organize your teams and help them prepare each week. They've continued to add more features over the years, and it's only gotten better with each new release. Pros It's extremely effective in scheduling volunteers for Sunday mornings and for equipping them with the resources they need to prepare the week before. Cons While it's a very capable and powerful platform, this can also be a little overwhelming for a first time user in regards to choice fatigue. Review Source RB Robert B. Product it the best. The value for what you get with Planning Center is very good! Pros Planning Center offers so much and it all works together. They are the best out there. Service planning, giving, small groups, registrations, church calendar, church app, people, child check in... all working together, amazing! Cons Not much, amazing product. We did move to Worship Tools for service planning because it automatically makes our slides in Presenter. But other than that Planning Center is the best! It is indispensable for church management. Pros It is comprehensive. It incorporates people management, giving, attendance, events, calendar, facilities, everything into one platform that works together. Cons There are times where Planning Center Services is not as user friendly as I would like. Alternatives considered [Tithe.ly](https://www.capterra.com/p/154664/Tithe-ly-Church-Giving/) Reason for choosing Planning Center Planning Center Giving is natively connected to all of the other Planning Center products, which gives it a huge advantage over other giving platforms. Switched from [Pushpay](https://www.capterra.com/p/142580/Pushpay/) Planning Center Giving is far cheaper AND more user-friendly than PushPay; we had switched to PushPay for the Mobile App and got locked into a contract. This product allows our church to successful run ministries, track member engagement, steward relationships and connection with people, among many other capabilities. Pros The organized convenience of having almost every form of information about church members using features like groups, checkin, registrations, services, etc. is highly valuable. I do enjoy the customization opportunities to use specific church language, as well as the ability to use other supported platforms in combination. Cons I don't enjoy the updated group chat feature as much as I did the functionality of it before. I wouldn't consider using any other software. Pros The extent of features when it comes to organizing and scheduling teams is fantastic. I find it very helpful that Planning Center tells me how long it has been since a particular volunteer has been scheduled, regardless of what role they were serving. Additionally, the level of functionality on the side of the volunteer is great. They can add blackout dates and respond to serving requests directly within an email. Cons At times, the menus can be a little clunky, and I find myself having to hunt for specific features. Planning Center's help section is fairly comprehensive though, so this usually fixes the issue for me. This gives a chance to test and use before full implementation. The best part of these products is the full integration between all the different apps. Cons Sometimes the updates happen a bit to frequently on particular apps. This is normally not a problem, but for a setup and take down church, it proves to be difficult as the new workflow needs to be figured out day off. It’s a great app that makes things much easier in life!! Pros It’s very helpful for our church worship band! We have loved how it helps us manage schedules and team organization! Even just simply for just to have songs on planning center is helpful! Cons Probably how inconsistent song edits can be. If I want to change a key of a song, it is sometimes more of a hassle to even try. Maybe it’s improved lately but last I used it, it would just not update my changes. Pros Planning center is always adapting and changing to needs of the client. They take input very well and help problem solve when needed. Their customer service is incredible. Cons There really isn’t anything that I or any of my colleagues dislike about planning center. Typically if there’s an issue, it’s easily resolved by a call to customer service. Even if you don't have any experience with building sign ups it takes a minimal amount of time to learn. The products are low maintenance and it's a great way to track volunteers for a non-profit. Cons Pulling people off waitlists is a little tedious, but otherwise, we really love this product. All four are key to making us “make Sunday happen.” Pros We are a bilingual congregation. So, ease of use and implementation are key for our team. We need to train, build, and use the application in our bilingual environment. Cons File management is a challenge. There is no easy way to log into Planning Center and delete multiple, old files in the system. May 30, 2024 5.0 Pros By far the best and most comprehensive church software out there, simply for the fact that everything is integrated together! I can give my volunteers everything they need, and plan out months of music at a time, work with all our other volunteers, sync our app for small groups, sync our calendar, sync our online giving, and more. I wouldn't recommend any other worship planning software! Cons The only con I have is that I wish, like some other church software, you could make your own app that's fully branded for you, including the name. To download our app, you have to search Church Center and then find your church. Not that big of a deal, but it's the only con I have.
