Customer service, helpdesk support and continual improvement of the system again add the the great value this tool brings. Pros I like how efficient it makes the proposal preparation process for our business. Having proposal templates, key sections/standard content etc. ready prepared in the system which we can rapidly duplicate to meet quick turn around submissions is great. Cons The cost is high but in my opinion, it is worth every penny considering the time saved and quality of outputs generated. Its saves time as multiple users can work on a document simultaneously, reducing the need for back-and-forth communication. Pros I like that it's very user friendly and easy to use for everyone from any background . Also it automatically formats and lays out documents which is my favourite feature so far . I have used XaitPorter for many years through the service company I worked in. I also use XaitPorter in my current position for studies, projects and other document construction or to get information. Pros All information of a tender, technical proposal and other documents collected in one place. Everyone being part of a e.g. a submission or proposal has access to all information. High value that everyone gets updates in real time as documents are produced or updated. Enables a simple way to build technical documents that can be copied for multiple purposes. Cons Updating a table - in earlier versions it was difficult to change content easily due to lack of marking and cut/paste whole rows/columns. Adding a section with split text or columns - might have been changes in latest version? Same issue with respect to easily placing pictures exactly where you want them - might also have been changed. Cons The editing feature is probably the most challenging aspect of XaitPorter, particularly for those more familiar with a Microsoft Word style word processor. You don't need to worry too much on the format since the software does it for you. Pros The feature that it works as a database. It is easy to go and visit previous proposals for reference. Cons The preview function. I still prefer to print the section document, to watch how the pdf will look like. XaitPorter support is very helpful, usually answers quickly and what's also highly important this service is free of charge (as a rule of thumb). It's really easy to set up a structure for a proposal or report and protect it from uncontrolled changes which can be done by other users. The workflow feature is also really useful that allows to assign reviewers and approvers and automatically send them notifications. Cons The main challenge for us as users is that when we discover a lack of features and reach out to Xait support, they don't give us any information if this lacking feature will be implemented in the future and if so then when. In presentation mode is not possible to see the real size of images. So, we have to export a document to PDF, check how it looks in reality, make adjustments, repeat again. There is no option to send several sections to reviewer (approver) by one click. It has to be done section by section. Understanding of using the library is a bit tricky. I couldn't find an easy way how to detect unused pictures and unclutter the library. Review Source MA Mahmood A. The repository can take a while to set up depending on your product lines and the amount of detail you want to include in your responses. However once it is set up and you are able to use the software as it was designed, you can save yourself a lot of time. Customer service has been very quick regardless of the issues. Support is knowledgeable on the software and is able to answer any questions that arise. Package has some limitations in working with excel files. Majority of all other document types are compatible.
