Not very easy to use, but the scaling and accuracy is impressive. Not very easy to receive support from Sage Intacct. Long waiting times to get answers for questions or help with, for example, importing data, even thorugh very high rates are charged for this support.

Pros

I appreciate Sage Intacct's ability to process large volumes of data, which is crucial as our company grows and our revenue increases. The consistent accuracy in billing our members from around the world is reassuring.

Cons

I find Sage Intacct not very user-friendly. It feels like only a Sage expert can use it effectively. For example, using printed document templates for invoices is challenging. You have to find the correct merge field to use in Word documents, and there's no way to see how the invoice will look until you send out a test invoice. The initial setup was also terribly difficult, and we are still struggling with it.

Intacct is a capable platform and a real step up from entry-level accounting tools, especially for reporting and multi-entity work. That said, the experience comes with a constant asterisk: almost every feature worth having is a separate add-on, and the price tag keeps growing as Sage rolls out new capabilities. You sign for one number and end up evaluating add-on quotes every renewal. Once you accept that pricing reality and get past the implementation learning curve, the core system does its job well — but go in with eyes open about the true long-term cost.

Pros

The dimensions-based reporting is the biggest win for us. We can slice financials by department, location, and project without creating a bloated chart of accounts. Building custom reports and dashboards is straightforward once you learn the report writer, and everything updates in real time instead of waiting on an Excel export. Support has always been able to solve my issues.

Cons

The biggest frustration is that nearly every meaningful feature is a paid add-on. Basic project tracking is included, but the published capabilities you actually want? Add-on. AI features? Add-on. General journal auto-reconciliation? Add-on. Closing automation? Add-on. Every improvement or new capability they roll out and market seems to come with a separate SKU and another line on the invoice, so the "all-in" cost keeps creeping up well past what you signed for. On top of that, the learning curve is steeper than the sales process suggests, the UI feels dated in places, and support response times can vary depending on who picks up your ticket.

Sage is very easy to use. Offers classes to sharpen your knowledge, and makes sure to support you along the way.

Cons

It can’t cover some areas, but makes sure to offer marketplace solutions in such cases. Sage has a base of multiple vendors in their marketplace.

There are so many tools with in sage that are useful. I look forward to continue to find ways to use it.

There are excellent learning opportunities. Sage university gives a lot of detailed classes to learn how to use Sage.

Cons

All the additional add ons seem to come at premiun costs. I wish the close co pilot was included in normal subscription.

Not being able to make changes once it’s submitted for approval. Invoice has to be declined to make modifications.

I like the drill down aspect of Sage. I also love the reclassify button as it helps speed up reclasses.

Cons

Currently everything is very new to me so if there are any cons I have yet to experience them. So none so far

Overall, I enjoy using sage intacct. Creating manual bills is super easy and being able to mark as paid is a breeze

Pros

Invoice management and ease to locate invoices. Love the option to create multiple different views under each module and being able to access platform readily

Cons

Biggest concern is the customer service feature. We use a third party provider (baker Tilly). They are helpful, but would be better to have a live agent sometimes

Overall, Sage Intacct has been an efficient and reliable system for managing our financial operations. It has helped us stay organized, improved transparency with leadership and the board, and made audit preparation more manageable. It’s a strong platform for organizations that value control, visibility, and integration—especially if you’re willing to invest a bit of time in optimizing reporting.

Pros

Sage Intacct has significantly improved financial visibility across our organization. Our entire executive team can easily access real-time financial statements and dashboards, which keeps everyone aligned on performance throughout the fiscal year. The accounts payable workflow is especially strong—routing invoices for department-level approval is straightforward and has streamlined our internal controls. We’ve also reduced paper usage dramatically, which has been a meaningful operational win. Perhaps most valuable is the integration with our CRM, allowing for real-time record keeping and better coordination between finance and revenue functions.

Cons

The interface is starting to feel a bit dated compared to newer platforms, even though it remains clean and functional. Some reporting and filtering capabilities still require extra effort to fine-tune, and we occasionally rely on our consultant to get reports exactly where we need them. That said, this has also created opportunities for cross-team collaboration and deeper understanding of our data.

I would never implement Sage at another company. There are many cheaper options available that are functionally superior, especially as it pertains to reporting.

Pros

The only module in Sage that I find useful is the contracts module for deferred revenue recognition. I'm not sure how the competition compares, so that may not be saying much.

Cons

Sage reporting is terrible. If you add an account it does not automatically add to your reports. Quickbooks is preferable, which is laughable given the price of this software. Its also extremely difficult to learn how to create and manipulate reports. Who wants to spend weeks in classes? Its not user friendly. Also, the invoices don't include billing periods which should be standard for any accounting software. We have to pay for an add on from Armanino which is not ideal.

My overall experience with Sage Intacct has been very positive. It has significantly improved efficiency in financial management and reporting. The system provides strong visibility into financial data and supports multi-entity and multi-dimensional reporting, which is extremely valuable. While there is a learning curve at the beginning, once established, it becomes an essential tool for day-to-day accounting operations. I would highly recommend it to organizations looking for a robust and scalable accounting solution.

Pros

Sage Intacct is a powerful and reliable accounting platform. Its reporting capabilities are excellent, allowing for detailed, customizable financial reports that support better decision-making. The system is user-friendly once implemented, and the cloud-based access makes it easy to work from anywhere. I also appreciate the strong audit trails and controls, which are critical for maintaining accuracy and compliance. Overall, it streamlines processes like invoicing, general ledger management, and financial analysis very effectively

Cons

The initial setup and implementation can be time-consuming and may require outside support, especially for more complex organizations. Some modules and features can feel less intuitive at first, and occasional system glitches or delays can occur. Additionally, certain customizations and integrations may require technical expertise or additional cost.
