I find it is reasonably priced but wouldn't suggest any significant increases as I would question my other options. Pros Very easy to use so an easy learning curve, two factor authentication ensures security, excellent timetracking and project job costing, I use this for billing and integrates with Xero accounting software. I haven't come across any bugs and/or issues and never had to contact customer support. I can increase or reduce my team numbers at any stage and my costs are instantly amended. Cons I manage payments via Xero and these do not flow through to Harvest. I find the reporting is limited as I would like to see the discounts I provide clients and do a little more reporting on clients billings etc. Review Source SL Stephanie L. Easy to learn right away with a simple and clean user interface and able to easily edit time so it is not rigid or if you accidentally forget it on you can go back and fix it. Cons I don't like that it does not send you the "did you leave your timer on" towards the end of my work day as a reminder to turn it off. Instead I get it at odd hours or the next morning and I have to figure out when I actually stopped working because the clock just keeps going. It's also setup to be integrated with Helpdesk ticketing systems. Pros Time tracking, project management/collaboration and integration. I like the ability to have it integrated with Zendesk. Cons The different tabs for adding/editing time for certain projects can be buggy. Sometimes manually adding time does not save and it requires you to go back and add the time again. Having worked in a previous organization that required time tracking, yet didn’t have a tool implemented, it was so cumbersome to maintain my time on a spreadsheet. I also appreciate the ability to make changes—if I forget to switch my timer between clients, or if I attend an event not in front of my computer (where I didn’t start a time on my phone). Cons Nothing—gets the job done well for my use case! It could be nice if using the PTO code would sync with PTO tracking in our HRIS, but it’s possible that’s a setting our team hadn’t enabled. Pros The most simple time tracking software i've ever used! Easy to understand and very good at time tracking and project timesheets. For a newbie, it is a good time tracking program but still need more advanced functionality. Pros The platform is simple and accurate. It offers integration with many other project management tools including Asana and Google Calender. Setting up time tracking for individual projects is easy and flexible. You can anytime edit start and end date for any project without any issues. Project invoice generation is flawless and easy. Cons It doesn't offer automatic time tracking and we have to manually enter the values for each project. They offer limited features for free plan which I don't think is a big limitation. Easy to use and easy to maintain. A daily or weekly timetable is available to everyone working on the project. Simple to use and simple to keep up to date. Pros It's simple to keep track of harvest time. Multiple projects and tasks can be created and assigned to various members of your team. It is possible to keep track of the time spent by each individual and compare it to the total number of hours allotted for the project. Cons An outdated and unfriendly user interface. That would be a great and eye-catching interface to view, in my opinion. As a result, it would be the same as receiving a service or conducting research! It's exporting to our Quickbooks is excellent, and I'd recommend it to any small business as the cost is totally worth it. Pros We were able to implement Harvest within an hour and train all staff within another hour. The ease of use is excellent, and reoccurring invoicing has been super helpful. Cons We've had a few issues with numbered invoices going from 100 to 400 (example) and support wasn't the easiest to work with. It automates your invoice and tracks payments, so handy. And I love that it also has an app and you can track time live or go back and change as needed. As someone with ADHD, this works really well for time tracking. Pros I love the ease in which this works and the organization of it, I have recommended to folks. November 27, 2024 4.0 Pros I like the most that its easy to setup and use. UI is getting but old but its simple and intuitive. Cons Their app constantly bugs out and starts using 20% of the processor. Are they running mining operation!? If you forget you timer over night time cannot be auto corrected. Even when app clearly shows that you have not used computer for 14h ours. When you press button to stop and remove those hours suddenly app forgets what's happening and states that no timer is running. At this point I consider this as a crypto miner and most likely I pay more a month for this sucker electrical bills than a subscription. They stopped development on the app and most likely whole operation. Reason for choosing Harvest Ease of use. Pros I like that it's fairly intuitive. The user interface is clean and friendly. It integrates well with Google Chrome. I find it easy to set up projects and track time. Cons I wish on an individual time card you could see what time (clock time) was logged instead of total time. I.e. see that 10 minutes was logged from 9:00-9:10 instead of just 10 minutes total. August 3, 2024 5.0 I've been using Harvest for well over a decade now, and I have no plans to switch. It's been with me through my first steps testing the waters of freelancing to going freelance full time. I make heavy use of the macOS app, which makes it easy for me to track my time throughout the day. And I rely on its invoicing and reporting features to get paid quickly and easily. What's not to love? Pros Harvest is easy to use, streamlined, with just the features I need and none of the features I don't. I primarily use it for time tracking and invoicing for my freelance business. There are enough configuration options for me to customize my time tracker and invoices for every client, and it takes just a minute or two to set up clients and send invoices. Cons Recently I've moved toward a monthly invoicing cycle, and there is no way for Harvest to automatically generate an invoice on the first of the month for all of the time tracked in the previous month. I tried many productivity apps but then again it is overhead to use multiple apps to increase productivity. Instead, I would recommend Harvest for effective time management. Pros I liked Harvest's time tracking software. I was finding it difficult to manage time for my project. I tried many time tracking software but could not find any satisfactory software. As I was using ClickUp for taking notes, I saw there was a third-party integration option with other productivity apps like Harvest. I immediately integrated with Harvest and it made my life easy. I downloaded Harvest on all my devices. Now I can use time very effectively. I'd recommend Harvest to all people who are freelancers, software engineers, and students as it is a great productivity tool. I think the UX leaves room for improvement, already. But I find it useful and we use it steadily. Pros The integration with Asana saves us much time: Harvest recognises the project, task type and name of the task and introduces them on the tracking for you. Cons I’m using Mac and this doesn’t work on Safari (it does in Chrome, however). Pros Sometimes its the simple software that provides the most value. In this case, while Harvest does provide some features that we do not use, it is incredibly simple to understand and use on a daily basis. We feel that we are really utilizing the software to the fullest extent even though we only use it to track time for internal purposes. We don't feel like we are wasting money paying for a software that is only partially utilized. Cons I am sure that for some companies the simplicity may not be practical. We use it on a daily basis and we don't have any problems to track our time and report that to our customers. Pros The possibility to have different task rates for our customers. Uninvoiced report is very usefull if you have correctly configured billiable and non billiable hours. Cons I believe they should include the possibility to have different cost rates to tracks. For example, we have different rates to the customer according to the task involved, but you cannot replicate that on the cost view. You can only set one rate per team member.
