Pros The price was the best part. It was pretty easy to learn as well and teach others the program. Cons This needs improvement in many areas. For a small nonprofit that is just starting, it works well. We have grown to a place where we needed more features that it simply does not offer. Our intended market is small to mid-sized non-profits, so we are certainly not trying to have all of the features that larger organizations, or ones that either want a full-featured church management program or major fundraising program, would have. We are happy to hear that your organization has grown sufficiently to need a larger program! Cons We only stopped using it because we got very large and needed to interface with Planning Center. Alternatives considered [Planning Center](https://www.capterra.com/p/76708/Planning-Center/) [QuickBooks Desktop](https://www.capterra.com/p/212058/QuickBooks-Desktop-Pro/) Reasons for choosing DONATION At the time, we needed something cost effective and that was meant for donation tracking and receipting. We were smaller and didn't like the interface of planning center and the ease of use wasn't there with using QuickBooks Desktop Premier (which we were using for finances). In the end we only stopped using Donation because we needed to integrate with Planning Center and at the time that was not an option. Pros At the time the Software was the least expensive option for the needs of the church. For simple giving and donation reporting it works well. Every feature it offers is reliable, updates are smooth. Outstanding customer service and support. Pros Donation is a user friendly, intuitive DMS. I have used a variety of DMS and have never wished Donation had a feature I needed. In fact, I enjoy that it is basic without a bunch of complicated stuff I don't need. It has all the reporting features I need and comes with outstanding customer support. I have already recommended Donation to another non-profit, which they ultimately transitioned to. Cons Maybe just add some auto formatting in the Postal Code and Phone number fields but not a big deal. Reasons for choosing DONATION Donation was already in place at the organization I came to work in. I have used other DMS software at other non-profits. I am very happy with the pricing, functionality and support from Donation, in fact I referred another non-profit I worked at to this product and they ultimately purchased it. There is already auto-reformatting of phone numbers when saving donors. For instance, any of "123-456-7890", "123 456 7890" or even "1234567890" are reformatted to "(123) 456-7890". JM John M. Having the proper IRS statement for charitable deductions is a critical step for Donors. Pros Having an easy template for Donor receipts and year end statements is wonderful. Being able to print mailing labels saves time each reporting period. I use this program for all of my non-profit clients. Cons My first year was a learning curve obviously. I did have a bit of problem adding the Entity logos to the template. One client's template came out better than another. Operator error most likely. Reasons for choosing DONATION Previously I was using a manual method through MS Office Word. Software4 Nonprofits is much cleaner, faster and efficient!
