And in my field time is money. And one thing you can't get back is lost time. Pros Everything you would need in one place in terms of writing perposals or submitting job bids on previous completed jobs. Cons The fact that you have to manually delete the previous search or it compiles your next search in with the previous one. No major issues though. September 7, 2025 4.0 I really like it. There's no way we'd be able to keep track of all of our images without it! It's quick and efficient Pros It really helps us to organize and find photos and other images/visuals for our thousands of projects. I find the AI search really helpful, because it helps find images that weren't tagged with certain keywords. I also really like that I can select images, and keep looking for more in other projects, but the ones I selected stay in my "cart", rather than reset each time I change projects. Cons Sometimes the plugin for InDesign has some issues, but they're nothing major. I also wish the searching was a little more intuitive. I have been using it for 6 months, and am still trying to get the searches just right. I don't love the resume builder portion. There seems to be some issue with the export, because sometimes we get duplicate information pulled into InDesign. I don't know if it's from OpenAsset, or it's connection with Deltek, but it's frustrating to not be able to rely on it to export correctly all the time. Review Source MB Michail B. As already mentioned OpenAsset has transformed the way we work and has been 100% worth the investment. Pros OpenAsset is fantastic, it is the software solution we were looking for and has transformed the way we work with our digital assets. We are now able to access our image library from anywhere, which is fully tagged and searchable, saving time and giving the results we need. One of the best features is the integration with InDesign for drag and drop images and the creation of project sheets and CV's from templates. It really is an all-in-one content management system. Cons All the fantastic features that come with OpenAsset does mean that it come at a cost, this could put some people off, but now we are on board, we couldn't image working without it. I use it almost every day and the ease of dragging and dropping images into InDesign is great!!! No more searching for images in folders on our marketing drive. This saves so much time and keeps everything organized. Pros OpenAsset is very easy to use and houses all my images in one place. I can also pull resumes from it. June 27, 2025 4.0 Very helpful. I cannot imagine trying to find images and photos in our massive collection without it! Pros It's great for finding photos and images (and even PDFs and videos!) when we have so many. The AI search feature seems to work fairly well, finding images that match what I'm looking for even if they're not actually tagged that way. I also like that I can select multiple items across multiple searches--it doesn't just reset every time I search something new. This is really helpful when trying to create a collection of images that I'll want to compare. Cons I really wish my search settings would save. I always want to see the newest/most recently uploaded images first, and instead I have to go and reset the filters every single time. Also, the drag-and-drop option isn't as smooth as I'd like. I have to make sure I hold my mouse button over it long enough, or it won't drag. And even then, sometimes I have issues, especially with InDesign. Review Source YJ YOJNA J. It saves us time and ensures that we always highlight our work with the best, most current images, which is especially useful when making bid documents and marketing materials. Cons One issue I've noticed with Open Asset is that its search feature sometimes feels a little limited. Although it works well for simple searches, more advanced filtering options would be helpful, particularly when working with a large number of assets across multiple projects. Furthermore, when the tagging system is unable to fully capture the context of an asset, it can be a little more difficult to find exactly what I'm looking for. I haven't had any major issues after a week using it. Pros Simplicity and flexibility so far. I'm a new user who appreciates the options for fields and plugins for various software. We're still in the midst of getting our data in there, but for the data that's already there, it's already saving us time on our processes. You know you're working with a good software team when you see that you can click the "copy" button to copy a bit of text OR select a portion of that text and copy that manually. Having options like that means a lot. Cons Sometimes I forget that the search bar up top searches all data by default and that I have to click on "Projects" and use a separate search bar to search for the project I want. It has much room for improvement but even so it is a great tool for both marketing purposes and the overall firm. The customer service is truly fantastic and we really appreciate the OA team's willingness to listen and help us at all times. Pros OA has been a great asset to us for connecting our image library across our offices globally. The sync to Deltek Vision is wonderful as it is a great way to look up project information without having to go through the slow and dated interface of Deltek. We love that you can upload different file types, have a variety of user settings, different categories, etc. The PDF, contact sheet generation and INDD plug-in features are extremely convenient and useful. We haven't gotten around to utilizing uploading our standard INDD templates for project page and resume generation yet but we are looking foward to doing so. Cons I think the user interface has come a long way but I think there is still a lot of room for improvement. I don't think that all of the settings and features are intuitive to find; for example, the image tagging keywords aren't obvious to locate and that has been a bit of an issue as we roll out OA to firmwide employees who don't know what the keywords to search by are vs. marketing who does know because we chose and implemented them. I think the mapping feature is good but it would be better if it could auto link that from Deltek as well to avoid manual input into OA. OpenAsset has given us the tools to create a robust catalog that is easily appealing. Before, OpenAsset we stored our photography on a PC shared drive and it was a nightmare trying to locate the files you needed. OpenAsset has completely removed this hurdle for us. It has also allowed us to streamline how we share photography with our leasing agents and broker teams. Pros It's easy to keep a catalog of our photography. Our employees like the convenience of having a one-stop shop for all our assets. I like the new tagging feature - it does a great job of accurately predicting the necessary tags for a photo, which has saved me a ton of time. I also really like the new homepage. Lastly, our customer success manager \[sensitive content hidden\] is wonderful! He's super helpful and always ensures we have the latest info about the platform. Cons As an admin, I find the settings page clunky and difficult to navigate at times. I also wish you could copy and paste the settings of one group to another. Review Source NS Nick S. It's provided huge efficiencies for the marketing team. Pros The software is very user-friendly, the interface is easy to navigate and the tagging is simple. I also felt like the set-up was straight-forward and OA was easy to work with. We have had great feedback firmwide on the platform and have been able to conduct training in 20 minutes - a testament to the ease of use! Cons Two things I would love to see - the ability to sell photography through the site. Often architecture firms sell photography to partners, consultants, etc. and it would be great to be able to share photos and accept payment through this one-stop platform. I would also love the ability to further brand/customize the home page. Those are tiny in the scheme of things, but would be great adds!
