It’s easy for our team to use, reliable, and has made managing training a smooth process. The platform looks great, works the way we need it to, and has genuinely improved how we deliver and track our training. We’ve been really happy with it. Pros It’s easy to use, clean, and makes building and assigning training simple. Reporting is straightforward, and our team has an easier time navigating and completing courses compared to other platforms. Cons Some parts of the backend feel a little limited, especially when trying to customize certain features or layout options. However, with time we started to receive feedback about the platform being non-intuitive and difficult to navigate. From admin and instructor point of view, we found the system to be difficult to design dashboards, welcome pages. Although, I liked its capability to import SCROM files. Moreover, it was a bit expensive for the experience offered and for our scale. Pros The ability to support different formats such as SCORM Cons Well, although it is a decent LMS tool, I would urge the team at Absorb to work on their UI and UX for all stakeholders - Admins, Instructors, and Learners. Cons ADP Integration is oversold in terms of it's out-of-the-box features. It also has deep limitations on included fields and cannot handle more than one instance for user sync. Little bit of learning curve to understand the system, however, we had lots of support when we needed help. Pros Great Support, constant improvements on software. Pros The Absorb Create tool allows you to customize training content in an engaging manner while not having to spend days upon days to create a ten-minute course. Their existing courses take the guesswork out of foundations for the whole organization, leaving the customization levels up to you. Cons I think getting a better understanding of what is an added on cost in the pre-sales process would be better. Overall, all aspects of sales and implementation were excellent, but it was so much information that I didn't really get granular with what was included in the base bucket cost versus what was an additional cost. It took us nearly a year to get things fully configured but we were assitted greatly by the Absorb on-boarding and support team. They also helped us with the integration of the Absorb system into our own proprietary software. Pros Absorb is a very rich software system that allows for multiple configurations. Courses are easy to setup and administer. For us, however, we were able to separate our global network of trainers into each one’s separate ’department’ which allows them to administer their own courses and registrations in their own account. This makes for effective course delivery and reporting. Fortunately, we have needed their assistance often, but they have always been a great partner when working through any issues. Cons The new Learner Portal updates are not simple for learners to navigate. We use online courses consisting of several modules/chapters. Pros We chose Absorb as our first Learning Management System. The design isn’t too complex, which made it easier to transition previously manual instruction to online learning. It is intuitive enough that we can allow non-trainers to create content without needing to be system experts. While we were not initially satisfied with Absorb’s customer service, within the last year (2022), they have become extremely responsive to all requests for assistance and also invite feedback and recommendations for improvement. Cons Sometimes the system design has what seems like obvious gaps or things that don’t work as smoothly as we would prefer for learning management. Learners love the ease of use and our admins love the reporting. Absorb also offers content integrations which we are utilizing to deliver leadership training. Pros Absorb has such a wonderful client portal to submit feedback. There's an ability to submit feature requests and have other clients talk through the pros/cons and use cases for those items. I've had calls with Absorb developers based on the feedback that I had submitted and those features then went forward into the production environment. It is awesome to see how involved Absorb is in the client community. Cons There are not many features that are problematic. I wish there was a more seamless way to allow a learner to take one course in place of another. If a learner submitted a third party certificate for a course that is equivalent to an in-house course, the admin needs to manually award completion for the in-house course. It isn't exactly clean and can lead to some confusion when auditing learner completions to understand which version was completed vs credited. Reason for choosing Absorb LMS We have complex assignment rules based on customer requirements. There were a few temporary hiccups along the way with our account manager. This has all been fixed since. The absolute best part of the experience besides the software is our Client Success Manager, Taylor. I do not know if we could have stayed with Absorb as long as we have without him. He is the ultimate reason we have chosen to stay so long. Pros There are so many great things I can say about Absorb. The absolute best feature of the software itself is the individuality it allows us to create for users. We have some standard courses that clients are interested in, however, the biggest pull is allowing us to make the experience feel custom to them. Our customers can easily navigate their own portals effortlessly. Customizing the templates and organization of courses is the personal touch that makes this software so great. Cons There are a few key features that I have noticed are not a part of Absorb software that could really be useful. The templates and options on how it is set up are pretty standard, however, certain options such as the calendar for example. Our clients love the calendar. However, you cannot really edit the calendar for full customization. I think if all of the template options had more range in customization it would be a bit better.
