Mindbody works very hard at making the experience of using their software easy. The support is great.

Pros

Mindbody continues to innovate and improve its software. Most recently, the addition of Analytics has been great.

Cons

Mindbody's reporting is limited to canned reports. I'd prefer a more comprehensive reporting tool that allows me to select what I want to report on.

We have been using it since 2011 and not found a competitor that has all the same features.

Pros

We run a large health club and MindBody has the features to allow us to run all the aspects of our business using the software. They also have excellent customer service.

Cons

The reports should all have the option to allow comparision to the prior period, especially the sales reports. It should be easier to import a list of clients into Messenger to allow you to text a large group of clients.

Overall its been great. I considered cheaper softwares but in the end chose MindBody because of the support they provide.

Pros

MindBody has always been great for me as a consumer so when I started a business that was a fit for the software I was happy to join it with my business as well. There have been technical glitches but they are very easy to reach and quick to address any issues. The software is very compatible with the app which is awesome and easy to use on the go. I considered cheaper softwares but in the end chose MindBody because of the support they provide.

Cons

The backend of it is complicated but the support is great to teach so its ok in the end to figure out.

Simple and straightforward layout that helps users to locate bookings quick. Sometimes get logged out without doing it on my own.

Pros

Easy to sign in as a user, easy to book classes, schedule layout is user friendly. Easy to manage bookings from profile as well.

Cons

Sometimes it gets confusing because I have multiple emails I have used to sign in with. I forget which one to use at login.

It was okay. It was better than what we had been using previously.

Pros

It was easy to set up and use. Support was also available 24/7 even though it wasn't advertised as 24/7.

Cons

It was difficult to send emails out to members if we had any changes to our class schedules.

Overall I had a very displeased and disappointed experience

Pros

I always had a problem with how it was sold to me. There was no new customers coming from them and their marketing platform, also, it is extremely complicated to set up your pricing and processes for charging customers. When you need to change something or personalize it, its a pain.

Cons

Their customer service is trash. I was never listened to about my concerns or needs.

Excellent service. Easy to connect. Courteous employees.

Pros

Easy to navigate. The support team are very helpful and always finds the answer. They also advertise me in the general app.

Cons

The price for my small business. Should find a way to price according to size. Also they added on the app if ppl found me through the app, MD takes a chunk out of it. Which is fine but clients don’t pay attention and choose that option and then I lose out.

Overall experience is good but UI could look better and search function for products is horrible.

Pros

It is well known and reliable for the most part. good customer service if there is an issue.

Cons

The product search experience is terrible. If you include a space in the search that doesn't appear in the way the product was entered in system then it doesn't show up. for example I searched "post card" and nothing came up because it's listed as "postcard" in the system.

Overall, I have enjoyed my experience with Mindbody. I would recommend it to both customers and venders, as it has a good user interface for both parties. Considering my one complaint is about the style, I would say Mindbody is doing pretty good!

Pros

I like that Mindbody has a lot of options and it is very diverse for both the customer and the vender point of view. The app makes it very easy to do check ins as a member, and very easy to look at profiles as a worker.

Cons

I wish the interface had some more color and style. I would like for it to have more personality.

### "Don't go with Mindbody"

We cancelled our account but we kept getting charged 3 months after cancelling. We had call, email and correspond back and forth for days on end until someone would get back to us and finally getting a refund. Until the following month where we had to do it all over again.

Pros

Nothing. They change their sites annually and each time they take something away and in order to get that service you have to upgrade to the next tier. It's a complete scam.

Cons

Bad customer service. No one would get back to us when we called or emailed. Kept getting charged 3 months after we cancelled.

Overall a very positive experience and would recommend to others.

Pros

I like that the platform is becoming more full spectrum service. I can do a lot more than I used to be able to and I love the idea of one stop shop kind of experience. I don’t need multiple programs to run my business anymore.

Cons

I think there are some more intuitive features that could be added, maybe more pleasing layout (aesthetically)

The simplicity of use. It took us no time at all to learn this system. And if we had questions we simply asked our rep. She helped us along the way.

Cons

Having to upgrade to get the most obvious of functions. For instance follow-up emails to our clients and guests.

Overall, it's good and does what we need.

Pros

All the different reports are good. User interface seems pretty straight forward.

Cons

Response lag. Contact Logs window doesn't close when you select one. Sometimes I would like to run reports with if/then options, but I've learned to work with what's available. I don't really like the marketing suite, but we don't pay for any add-ons either. It takes a long time to fix bugs.

Our overall experience is Very good. With great customer service.

Pros

There are so many reasons why we use MINDBODY, the usability of the platform from a business and consumer perspective. It's globally recognised and I always enjoy the sharing of insights. Reports are easy to run and it adapts well to mobile use. Our social marketing agency also uses MBO, so it makes our job easier.

Cons

I sometimes find it can be clunky in terms of users journey/steps - you have to click back and forth, with too many clicks for each step. You also have to wait for the screen at each step.

Very happy. Overall easy to use on my mobile as well so I can answer calls and make appointments when away from the office as well.

Pros

I love that when I need assistance, even on a Saturday, I am able to connect with someone. And if for some reason they can't help me, they are able to get me help within a short time, for example, the following business day.

Cons

Sometimes it's difficult to figure out intuitively how to find something. But that is rare. I can most often use the search feature and get the details needed.

Pros

This is by far the best gym software for running a business. Easy to use and capable of doing most everything that you need.

Cons

There are some changes with the upgrade to some of the reporting and things that I was not a fan of.

Easy to use software. Good insights and stats. I like using insights to help give me info on what business decisions i need to make.

Pros

the app, easy to use and book clients and patients. I use it for clinical applications and I don't need much administration help

Cons

Limitation of characters withs notes. I need the ability to write notes for clients and it doesn't allow me do this easily.

### "Mindbody is not for Small Studios - Don't waste your money."

Mindbody was great when I first opened my business over 10 years ago. However, I would not recommend it now to any small business. Mindbody pulled fees out of my account for a studio in Texas that I did not own that had a similar name. Thousands of dollars were taken out and it took months for the money to be received back into my account after their error. I had to call daily to get updates on my overcharged account.

Pros

It was easy for my clients to book classes on the APP.

Cons

Small businesses were quickly at a disadvantage to franchises. They had the ability to pay for ads and promos. The APP was continually full of competitors offering big deals. Many small studios including mine eventually left Mindbody to software companies that included an APP for individual studios only. It created customer loyalty.

### "MindBody - Incompetent and Greedy"

MindBody operates with defective information, illegal rules and horrendous support. Their customer support is poor and inconsistent. Multiple service employees who spoke to us never had the same answer. I purchased the license and merchant account in 2012, and always paid the fees through my bank account. They refused to send the 2012 contract. I know the license and merchant account contract states I am the purchaser and owner. However, they dod not consider me the owner; they told me my employee who was hired in 2018 was the owner and was the only one who could make requests or changes. In preparing to close down the business, MindBody insisted she was the owner even though she was on her way out. This is outrageous and illegal. In addition, last quarter, MIndBody forced our clients to switch to the new app even though many did not want to handle their sign ups and payment on the app. Poor way to treat my customers; we get the blowback for MindBody decisions. They finally now recognize that I am the owner when I want to cancel the contract as studio is closing. MindBody makes cancellation of the license and merchant account almost impossible and outright improper. Here is a recent example. We were told that we would have 90 days after the termination of the contract to download our information. Now, they are claiming that we have only 24 hours to download all of the information. Some information such as liability waivers had to be obtained on each client separately. We have over 800 waivers. Their solution is that we pay them $500 to download the information and send it to us. Extortion! This is only a few examples of how bad poorly MindBody has treated us. Their only concern is to squeeze as much money out of the business. They could care less that the studio is closing down. This is an incompetent, immoral and greedy company. Stay away from them and find a different software.

Pros

In the last 3 years, there is nothing I would recommend with MindBody especially with all the different platforms available today

Cons

Poor and improper customer service to my studio and my clients. Inconsistent and totally incorrect information. We have called multiple times in the last two months, and we get different answers every time. MindBody’s modus of operandus is to protect themselves and their money stream. The customer does not matter.

Have mostly been good with overall customer support. There are some bugs in the system. It does have a nice scheduler but then doing all of other aspects of that are very difficult. Just not as great for clinic settings. I like it personally for gym type situations

It has easy scheduling, apps are easy to use.

Cons

Very hard to set up appointment types and get them so everyone can see them. Very difficult to sell product out of. It may be okay for gyms, but not great for clinic settings

Pros

Nothing in particular. Very complicated system, not user friendly at all, too expensive plus they charge you with a Technical Account Manager fee on top of your monthly fee

Cons

Very bad service. They constantly have bug issues which they cannot resolve for weeks and they dont care if your studio is loosing money in the meantime

My overall experience was not great. Software has issues and add-on services have MAJOR issues. After years of trying to get customer service to remedy issues with add-ons and no resolutions I finally dropped all those services and eventually wound up getting a 3rd party partner to provide the services I needed.

Pros

The core software has robust functionality, however the system is complex and not intuitive. I spent 6 years working in the software so I had learned over time how to accomplish what I needed to.

Cons

The system has a lot of issues and bugs. You will frequently run into issues where payment processing is not working. The core software functions okay, but the major issues lie in the add-on services like MessengerAI, Branded App, and Marketing Suite. I've tried all of these add-on services only to find that they don't function as promised.
