It makes going paperless wonderful! It's ease of obtaining what you are looking for and having everything at your fingertips is such a time saver. Pros It was easy to use and everything was in one spot. Made finding everything about your resident simple. I know they are making updated systems like Voyager 8 and CRM, so maybe those will be more user friendly and accurate. Pros That it can sync with other platforms and contains the most important information that I need to better serve my residents! Cons I feel that the interface could be updated and that I am still unaware of a lot of the features. It is not super user friendly- with extra training needed. Some of the information and statistics aren't accurate so I always try to double check important data. I would like the names of reports to be more similar to the actual report type and the filters to be more specific. Pros Once you learn the system it is fairly easy. Document storage and resident data is nice and the system knowledge of rental properties is nice. Cons Not the easiest to navigate. The reports aren't easy to sift through. Pros The software once setup is very user friendly and easy to navigate. Cons The setup can come with some growing pains. But what software company does not. February 17, 2026 5.0 Yardi is one of my top choices for property management software despite drawbacks of slower customer service support. I find it's easy to train new team members due to the simplification of the user interface! Pros Yardi was a straight forward, comprehensive program that greatly improve day to day work flow for busy leasing offices. The user interface is easy for people to catch on to, even those who may not be as comfortable with learning new software. Reports are easy to find and I love being able to pull them as Excel spreadsheets so I can tailor them to my liking. Cons Customer service could be strong. While the support team can be helpful, often times I find that immediate needs cannot be met, which can hold up our processes. Bank reconciliation is easy, however, fixing or moving money can pose a challenge at times. Review Source TF Theresa F. I now use Entrata and I realize how much I took Yardi for granted haha. Pros I like how everything from move ins to move outs and applications is on the dashboard as soon as you log in. You’re not having to hunt for all of it. Cons How glitchy it can be. For example if I’m leaving a memo and a resident comes to me and I go back to that memo after 5 minutes of talking to my resident , IT CLOSES OUT! Pros It was a huge step up from the previous software our company used. Functional. I liked the dashboard. Cons Everything was not under one main "house" program. Yardi (main program) and Rent Cafe/CRM (leasing). While they talk to each other, it was frustrating to have more than one program to use. It has some weird workflows in older versions but you get used to it. Cons Sometimes it's not very user friendly. Sometimes it's overly customized to the customer and there is a wish for more standardization so we can work together for better training and resource materials instead of having to write them all yourself as the customer. It is a tool useful on a daily basis to track my building's financials as well as AR and AP. Pros I like the nearly unlimited ability to customize Yardi to a company's needs. Detailed information available and ability to compile financial reports are invaluable. Cons It can be very complex to use, requiring very detailed manuals. Pros The ease to work your way through the program. Finding the sections you want to open quickly. Ease to learn. Very simple, not a hard to use program and everything in one place. I love it. September 18, 2019 3.0 7s is a much better product than 6, which is a nice surprise. And payscan has worked well so far. In general, it's been a real struggle. It's just been really hard making Yardi work for my company. Occasionally, I come across a person who is great and knowledgeable, like \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] and I try to reengage him or her but it's not always possible to get the same person to help. And sometimes you get one of the support team who is not very good and things can take a long time to get sorted out..... Pros It has a robust set of features and has many modules such as rentcafe that are native (hope I'm using that term properly) to the environment- meaning no need to integrate with third party software providers. Tech support is usually quick to respond. Cons You really need your own Yardi tech department to get the most out of it. If you don't it becomes critical to work with a Yardi consulting firm in order to customize the software to your business or implement new features. For some reason roommates are treated differently than "primary" lesees by the system. It's infuriating that residents are handled differently just because one was entered into the system first and is considered to be the "primary" resident, even when both folks are on the lease. Moving roommates in and out of the system is a nightmare for accounting. Customizing the leasing process and documents was so difficult and time consuming I had to fire Yardi from the job and engage an outside consulting firm. Yardi refunded my support hours upon request, so that part was good. The workflow is not set up to work in places like Boston or New York. The concept of a broker is foreign to Yardi folks. If you own or manage a single large property or community where all leasing is done in -house then no problem. If you own many properties in urban areas and rely on outside brokers to rent apartments choose a different software platform. Yardi support techs can be infuriating and there is no single person or team that is responsible for my account. I have team leaders for Voyager, Payscan, RentCafe, Lease Docs etc. but no single person is really "driving the train." I've been waiting 3 months or more for the correct version of my annual invoice. Reason for choosing Yardi Voyager Wasn't confident that either Appfolio or Buildium would be better and really wanted to automate our a/p so payscan was the easiest and fastest way to go. You are planning to grow, right? It will be a selling point if you prospective clients that you use Yardi. Pros During my 35 years in commercial and multi-family residential real estate, I have literally watched the real estate management software industry grow up. I have used most of the best property management software companies' products at one time or another. Yardi has been an industry front runner virtually since its release. If you run a large management company with institutional clients, then chances are you already know all about Yardi, because many institutional owners require that their managers use Yardi. If you aspire to manage institutionally-owned ("investment grade") properties one day, then you should take a hard look at Yardi. It is highly competitive cost and feature-wise with its very best competitors. Call Yardi and ask for a demo. At the very least, you will get a taste of what top-of-the-line property management software looks like. I have recommended Yardi software to my property management clients on many occasions. In all fairness, one size does not fit all in the property management industry, and I have recommended one of Yardi's competitors instead more than once. Cons What I like least about Yardi also applies to its best competitors. That is, there is a lot of front-end setup required to use its most valuable features. And there is a steep learning curve to be overcome in its use. Intense training of your controller/accountant(s) may be required, and additional training of property managers. As a general rule, you should expect Yardi's implementation cost to equal or surpass its purchase cost. This goes double if you plan to host Yardi on a proprietary server at your company. Again, my comments here apply to Yardi's best competitors as well. The best property management software is powerful, feature rich, highly customizable, and, when properly implemented, speaks well of your company's professionalism in many respects.
