I tried to move to Rhino but learning curve is too steep. Low cost alternative to other expensive tire frame cad programs Cons Their support is non existent. No phone support. only email., which takes hours to hear back. Pros Der Preis war günstig und es war funktional, wenn auch nicht annähernd so gut wie die Konkurrenzprodukte. Aber dies habe ich aufgrund des Preises gerne akzeptiert. Cons Das nach fünf Jahren sich die Software nicht neu registrieren lässt und man gezwungen wird, ein Upgrade zu kaufen. While not intuitive, the interface was easy to use at a basic level. I encountered an issue late in the trial and contacted support to help me resolve it. While they came up with a solution to the problem, the trial license had expired. Pros Features and capabilities. Lots of both. Free trial. This allows potential users to determine whether or not to use the tool. Cons The features are on a tiered model. Some of the features that would be most useful for me are in the higher tiers while I won't use many of the lower tier features. TurboCAD changed the properties of my objects randomly. This caused confusion and issues. This glitch is why I decided to not purchase the software. Support is slow. The best turnaround time I saw was one business day. Pros Turbocad Professional 2023. The product is generally OK for architectural drawing. When it works. Cons 1\. When a tried to use the draw a parallel line, it only worked about 50% of the time. This was enormously frustrating. 2. On May 2, I experienced a sudden massive failure of Turbocad 2023 resulting in the loss of most of my drawings. This has never happened before. This represents a significant financial loss to me as it will require me to undertake significant redrawing. This is an absolutely essential tool to be able to work with data from many different sources. TurboCAD's ability to import and export and convert between many data forms has saved the day so many times over. This is not something you pick up and learn in a day. Or a week. Or a month. Even after years of using various versions of TurboCAD, I'm still learning new details of core functionality and behavior that have been there all along. This is a serious tool that can generate precise and beautiful 2D drawings and 3D models. With proper setup, 3D rendering is beautiful. The UI is sometimes not as fast and responsive as I might like -- you will want to invest in a fast PC with a high performance GPU to get better experiences. Pros This product is a "Swiss army knife" of features. Performs all core 2D and 3D CAD tasks. Great "bang for the buck" Excellent drafting tools. Very powerful once you know how to use it. Cons Very steep learning curve. Very limited parametric/history modeling. Mediocre UI/UX for naming objects - hard to use with complex assemblies. I found Floorplan 2024 to be much easier to use for home design and layout than other tools. I started with just some basic measurements of the home we’re moving into and managed to build a complete floor plan in just a few hours. There are some key areas to read in the manual that will help, but for the most part it’s relatively easy to watch there tutorial videos and get up and running quickly. The more I used FloorPlan 2024 the more I realized the design decisions of the software and why their approach is very efficient with enough flexibility to provide stunning 3D homes. Pros Fastest way to produce a floorplan and place furniture and electrical outlets to visual how a home will look. It has ALL the features needed to produce a floor plan for a construction company to use and implement. Much of the grunt work is handled automatically with wall widths, ceiling heights, electrical drops, framing, roofing, windows, and doors. They provide a wealth of content packs that come with ready to use furniture and materials. Also provide a Custom Workshop tool where you can adjust any of the existing furniture/objects and come up with your own specific furniture which can be added to user libraries. Lighting works very well with the LuxCore render engine and you can use emissive lighting or actual lighting. All is PBR based so light reflects as it should on object surfaces. Support was excellent from both forums administrator and support team at TurboCad. Cons Very important to read the manuals and go thru training tutorials to fully understand how to produce some amazing final renders of homes. Rendering time can be slow, even on fast CPUs. Download servers are very slow. We consider TurboCAD the go to program that allows us to design all the important aspects and features our clients need in their custom homes. Very easy to make adjustments and its user friendly tool interface is easy to operate. We have recently upgraded to the 2024 Platinum addition of TurboCAD, thanks to Syed(CEO), we will be using it for years to come. Cons What I like the least and have difficulty managing are the parametric and dimensional constraints, which I find somewhat difficult to master, despite the software being user-friendly.
