It meets all the needs for my company and gives great reporting options. The cost is more middle of the road vs some other payroll systems and I love that. It does everything needed for a small business payroll needs and more without costing an arm and a leg. Cons There are not very many cons to Pensoft. Really anything you need it do, it does easily. Pros A database for payroll is the only description I can give. It was better than a spreadsheet. Cons This product needed a lot of fixes while we used it. Every update was a HUGE deal. Pros Pensoft is a great payroll option for small firms that want to keep payroll processing in house. Some great options are the variety of reports, user-friendly interface, and it's ability to work with other accounting software like Clearview Infocus. I really like the flexibility when entering data and the ability to send out payroll stubs prior to final processing. Cons One feature I dislike is I wish some of the incomes and deductions were more automated with current figures and regulations (i.e. HSA total contribution for the year). Cons One con is that sometimes it will not save data if you do not click a very small icon in one of the screens. This is sometimes overlooked and not clicked, which means we have to go back in and reset data. Not a dealbreaker, however. The use of remote access has been very helpful as they help me navigate through Pensoft to find the source of my problem. It is a very efficient process. Cons Sometimes does not work well in our Citrix environment. This might actually be more of a Citrix issue though. 1095C Reporting capability would be very helpful also.
