I love using skillsoft and am happy to continue working with them.

Pros

I love using skillsoft videos for learning and development of our employees. The trainings are easy to follow and very diverse.

Cons

I have no problems with this software, it is organized in an easy to navigate way, and includes so many different types of trainings.

The customer service is good. Everyone is super friendly and responsive. Overall experience is..have to work with it because this is what we have now so better make the most of it. If i was making the decision i would not recommend - I would suggest a newer product.

Pros

I like the user interface for this software. For employees, it is relatively easy to use and follow all of the required and optional training they need to complete.

Cons

The admin side of the software is extremely convoluted and dated. It is hard to keep the back end organised based on how the system is set up - this makes it very challenging to manage a large employee base. The reporting functionality is very limited. Often the same report will produce different results and it is challenging to pull accurate data. I would go with one of Skillsoft's updated softwares

Skillsoft is ok - I would recommend it to someone just starting out

Pros

We use skillsoft alongside percipio to be able to assist with learning and development the courses readily available are adequate and there is the option to add your own courses

Cons

Its quite difficult to add your own courses and it doesnt have some of the features that other L&D sites have. Doesnt have great reporting.

They are fast sometimes yet you need to move slowly sometimes especially the audio part

only benefits were related to the IT content.

Pros

The IT content is very detailed and works for some people. This is the only content that I found to be relevant and useful.

Cons

The experience I've had with Skillport (content delivered by Skillsoft) has not met my needs. I've come across some very lengthy courses that were at least 60 minutes in length. By the time I get to 10-15 minutes, my attention is elsewhere. I didn't feel like it was very engaging or interactive. I felt like it was just information given to me.

My organization launched a whole professional development program based on the pathways and it was great for developing skills for the workplace.

Pros

I like that we could complete training asynchronously at our own pace, both at the desk and on the go (via mobile access) and that the learning pathways were a guide to making the most of your coursework by achieving a cohesive learning objective.

Cons

Adding/removing courses was a little tricky, the deadlines were hard to change

Cons

While going through the trainings, they do not always save correctly and cause you to lose progress. Additionally, the look of it could use some updating.

Skillport is great for onboarding as all lessons and material can be found in one place and it can be recorded and tracked in the same place as well. It is very easy to use and navigate

Cons

The thing I like least about this is that the user interface is pretty outdated, but still manageable. The video lessons definitely need updating

It's nice to have our own workplace assessments, it allows us full customization to be part of the hiring process.

Cons

Sometimes the results of testing are very slow to update in our CRM, not sure what end this is on; however, sometimes 30 minutes is required to retrieve results.

I think Skillsoft is an excellent training tool for teams, managers and anyone working in customer service. I like that wide range of courses that Skillsoft offers. It offers the great benefit of saving your progress in each course. I really believe that it has a course for everyone. I've recommended several trainings from Skillsoft to my team members to improve their work performance.

Cons

I would like for newer courses to be uploaded more frequently.

I like the variety of both the topics available on the platform as well as the variability of formats that you can use to learn (video, eBook, Audio Book, etc.). The mobile app is also very helpful for listening to audio books or learning on the go.

Cons

The way that our version is deployed, senior leaders cannot craft their own "channels" or learning paths.

Used it for training purposes. The interface was easy to use, but it required keeping a separate monitor window open.

Cons

Having to use only a specific browser to operate the product meant that it was difficult for users on different platforms.
