Pros Fathom is a simple app to install and seamlessly integrates with most video call software. It provides a decent summary and interface to review calls. Cons It became another app to open and manage. It alerted me often than my calendar or video call apps, and it was a secondary layer I had to worry about. I like the new tools and improvements and an option to use it for free as well as having paid options. Pros I've been using Fathom for over 2years now and still find it great! The new addition I tend to use a lot is shareable playlists of highlights. Playlists let you save highlights from calls into organized collections that are easily sharable. This becomes very useful when keeping feedback across multiple meetings organized. I also use call transcripts as input into other AI analyzers and report builders. Cons Then only things i would like to change at this point is to have an option to minimize the Fathom icon on the Team call. The accuracy of the transcription is top-tier, even with background noise, and the AI-generated summaries are a total game-changer for my productivity. It’s incredibly intuitive and easy to use, making it a permanent part of my daily workflow. Highly recommended for anyone looking to save time! Cons There is one significant drawback for power users: it is currently not possible to collect Zoom chat data. This makes it difficult to maintain a complete record within a CRM, as any links or notes shared in the chat are lost. It is a fantastic, easy-to-use tool for voice, but the lack of chat integration is a missed opportunity for full CRM automation. Actually, CRM integration does not actually seem to be working despite the possibility being announced. Very frustrating! I used this tool to take an evaluation of intern and that went too long. So, fathom helped me generate a customized evaluation report based on the transcript generated. Cons Nothing as such, but when I referred one of my colleagues on fathom, my points did not increment, maybe the process I followed was wrong. I've reached out to them on multiple occasions, and have always received a helpful and timely response. Pros The Fathom notetaker is genuinely awesome. You can use it in any video meeting (Google, Zoom, Teams, etc.), and it's better than the built-in Google Gemini notetaker (as of the time of writing). The ai summary notes are ACCURATE. Like-- impressively accurate. Like-- more accurate than if you had a human taking notes with you. And because it records the meetings, you can click on a sentence from the ai notes and it will replay that section of the call for extra context! To me, the coolest thing is that it creates "action steps" following a meeting. In addition to insightful meeting summaries that break down each chunk of your conversation/call/talk, it automatically creates a to-do list for you (great for sharing with your counterpart, because you KNOW they aren't taking good notes). Cons Sometimes you can't NOT add Fathom to your meetings. That is, sometimes I don't open the Fathom app, or specifically request that it not join a meeting (because I want to save my monthly free credits for other meetings), but it seems to join anyway. If I had a paid plan or infinite credits then I wouldn't have a problem with having it in every meeting; but I'd like to be able to confidently say "don't join this meeting" to save credits for my high-impact meetings. Annoyance I don't know how to solve: I'm an iMac user and make use of the multiple desktops feature, and opening Fathom may switch me to a different "desktop." I never really know where Fathom is going to launch; and though I CAN move the Fathom instance/window around my computer as needed, it'd be nicer if it always just opened in the screen I'M actually in. Nonetheless, none of these minor inconveniences is enough to dissuade me from using Fathom. It's still a 99% benefit to my meetings! Also the video recordings are so useful to playback and smooth with the transcripts. Cons When it sends an email to the attendee, I cannot see what got sent to them. apart from that, it is very very useful. It’s reliable, accurate, and takes a lot of pressure off during client and team meetings. I no longer worry about missing details — everything is neatly transcribed and summarized. It’s a must-have for anyone who manages multiple projects or meetings in a day. Pros Fathom makes meetings so much easier to manage. I love how accurately it captures conversations, even when people speak fast or have different accents. The summaries are spot-on and save me a lot of time in writing notes. The interface feels clean and intuitive, and it’s simple enough that everyone on the team can use it without much learning curve. Cons Occasionally, there’s a slight delay in syncing the recordings, especially right after a long meeting.
