We changed from another CRM that had been used for years (older, customized, not very functional) to DonorPerfect, and there are no regrets. Pros This is a very good CRM for a mid-size nonprofit. The platform is generally user-friendly, and the interface can be modified to suit. It allows teams to collaborate on data collection, as long as there are clear protocols in place. Cons Sometimes the reporting functions can be overly complex, or the canned reports not really all that useful. We wish that the annual costs were not so high, but understand that other CRMs are even more expensive. After 4 weeks as a new user I was able (with help) to generate an end of year mailing list that targeted the donor groups we wanted. Pros As a new user on an existing account, the learning curve was not nearly as steep as I thought it would be. For the price compared to other donor CRMS, DP does quite alright. Pros I like how there's a team of excellent and knowledgeable customer support agents who are ready to help me pull reports. They are also willing to dive deep into a question even if it takes a long time. They are determined to help me resolve my issue. Cons Not every customer service rep has the same savvy or expertise. The system makes it easy to track donor information, manage gifts, and run reportshe platform can feel a little overwhelming at first because of the wide range of features, and some of the reporting functions take time to learn.. I especially appreciate the customization options, which allow us to tailor fields and reports to fit our specific needs. Great knowledgebase and tutorials. Cons Having to download Classic forms into Donor Perfect. Not being able to set up Smart Actions against information coming in from the Drag and Drop new forms. Pros I love our new database DonorPerfect! I am not a techy person and it is pretty easy to use. Plus you can get 24 hour online questions answered or for more complicated issues, you can get a specialist to help walk you through it. My DP trainer \[sensitive content hidden\] is the BEST! He always explains the why behind the how. Cons It was not that I don't like anything but databases are all different and it was the learning curve on my end. " September 24, 2025 5.0 I have enjoyed being able to look up donors and have space to write notes about them as well as being able to label them into different categories. Pros I like the search functions where I can search with donor idea or with name. I also like being able to see total giving broken down by year. Cons I would love more options and better options to set up donation pages. We have to use a separate donation platform because the donor perfect pages aren't pretty or user friendly. April 7, 2025 5.0 I have been using DonorPerfect since I started at Trillium House in July of 2024 and I started watching all the videos to learn as much as I could. I have since picked up some new responsibilities and haven't had a chance to learn as much anymore but plan to return to the learning process. I have used not even half of the features but plan to in the future. I really love that the customer service team is so responsive and helpful, never have I come away from a question without an answer. Pros I really enjoy using DonorPerfect because it is user friendly and has ALL the information I need to collect, seriously they have thought of everything! Cons The only thing about DonorPerfect that I don't really enjoy is the fact that there is SO much to learn, I have a hard time finding the time to learn it all. Review Source FN Faye N. " April 28, 2025 5.0 It has been excellent. We are coming up on one year using DP and have only positive things to say about the experience. It performs as promised and more than meets our needs. Pros The onboarding experience. We had a previous experience with another provider that was not so great and were nervous about the transition but it was so smooth and the support provided by the DP team made it seamless. Cons I don't have any complaints. Support is very responsive, I've only used the chat feature once, and was very happy as my issue was resolved very quickly. Pros Ease of use when creating forms and downloading information to the donor profile. I am able to create sponsorships with the correct level of sponsorship and the number of tickets that sponsorship gets. I can also add new fields to screens and reorganize them in a way that is more visually pleasing to the user. Cons It is sometimes slow. Pros Within a week of using Donor Perfect, I already felt that this platform was what we were searching for. The cost is reasonable, customer support sublime, and constant contact is a highly valued addition. Having one contract for email marketing and our donor database does not exist in the same way anywhere else. Cons We're till figuring out the quirks. I have to pull reports to find people who are located in a certain state instead of searching the state like in other platforms, but that's a small adjustment. The interface is great and very easy to use. I love how it syncs with constant contact. Pros Their customer service is amazing. I have worked with many platforms ove the years and Donor perfect is by far the best I have seen. They are very responsive and make sure they have resolved your issue. I have found everyone on their team to be very helpful and always go above and beyond. Something else that I like is that they update your contacts automatically to checkoff moves, deaths, etc. I also appreciate that they sync with constant contact. Cons It's not cheap and it took a bit of effort to make the case to the stakeholders to make the investment. Honestly, I would prefer that they worked with mail chimp instead of constant contact but it still works. Cons Our organization struggles with the constant contact platform. We try to use this for mass emails, uploading to our donor email list with a lot of difficulties. It's very automated, and saves so much time on our team! I would highly recommend it. Pros DonorPerfect is the most user-friendly CRMs I have used. It's extremely intuitive. It also integrates with our ticketing software so that I can see an individual's tickets, memberships, and even concessions. I also really like how customizable the screens are. My team and I were able to create custom fields to segment our donors. Cons If I could ask for one change to DonorPerfect, it would be the filter-writing language. Instead of compund filters, it would be useful to be able to write out filters using "AND", "OR", "IF", etc. However, I'm still able to build the filters I need, it just takes a while to manipulate the language. The people who work there are very nice. The set up was challenging, but they were very accommodating. Pros The basics of the database are easy to use. More advanced features, not so much. You must be somewhat tech-savvy to use this database to the fullest extent. We needed many features, so we went with it, knowing it would be challenging to learn...at IT IS! Cons We are on the West Coast, and their phone customer service hours cater to the East Coast. They also close for lunch between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. PT.!!!! They need a West Coast tech staff. I work on my database during off hours and cannot get in touch with customer support. East Coast has customer support from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The West Coast has to adhere to East Coast hours. We do not work at 5 a.m.! Some aspects of their platform are very complicated because they partner with other vendors, and we have to go to those vendors for customer support. Sometimes, it is not clear who we should speak with. Their reporting is SO COMPLICATED! So is their Moves Management. We have wealth screen, and getting help with that isn't easy. There is not nearly enough training with their basic package, and it is very costly to get more training.
