My overall experience with DonorPerfect has been really positive. I find it easy to use, intuitive, and customer support to be quick and very helpful.

Pros

I appreciate the ease of use of DonorPerfect! It's very intuitive, and I have been able to jump in and complete a lot of tasks without much guidance, which speaks to how easy it is to use the platform. Customer Service has also been great! They were quick to help and fix issues when needed.

Cons

When I contacted our representative for support, he was really not helpful and didn't lead me to the right place to get assistance. However, when I called customer support, they were so helpful!

So far I am very please with the ease of use, customer support, and general offerings of Donor Perfect.

Pros

I am new to the Donor Perfect platform, but so far I have been impressed with the promptness of the customer service. I like that there is not a huge learning curve to use the software and that the CRM has a lot of capabilities that are useful to donor management.

Cons

My team only has the standard package for Donor Perfect, so it would be nice to have to ability to have batch entry without an upgrade.

Overall it is a good, budget friendly option. It is not as sophisticated as other CRMs in terms of it's structure and reporting functionality, but with excellent customer support and taking the time to learn the system, it can provide a lot to smaller organizations.

Pros

DonorPerfect is a straightforward and affordable CRM, the customer support is excellent and very responsive. There is a decent amount of customization available to create custom fields and layouts that make the most sense for your organization. The out of the box reports are a decent starting point and the training provided to support this is good quality. It is a good option for smaller shops.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve with the reporting functionality and certain reporting limitations if you are looking to run customized reports. The structure of records is lacking in certain features like household records, soft credit donations, and the ability to distinguish gifts from event registrations.

The initial set up was easy and although I don't use all aspects that DP offers it is a great improvement over what he previously had.

Pros

I love our new database DonorPerfect! I am not a techy person and it is pretty easy to use. Plus you can get 24 hour online questions answered or for more complicated issues, you can get a specialist to help walk you through it. My DP trainer \[sensitive content hidden\] is the BEST! He always explains the why behind the how.

Cons

It was not that I don't like anything but databases are all different and it was the learning curve on my end.

Still in the first year, but a reasonable bang for your buck, again I am in Finance/accounting and the customer integration is the only thing that I do not like

Pros

It is quite user friendly once you have things setup and integrated, with the exception of having to work around customers who are funders as well

Cons

Aspects of the integration with QB are less than perfect, it doesn't carry over into the normal 'transactions' related to the customers in QB

I started working with DonorPerfect a year ago and have found it very easy to learn. The receipts, reports, and global update functions are very helpful and versatile.

Cons

It can be difficult troubleshooting for very specific problems or questions. The training I've taken through DP was very beginner level. Features I'd like to see: Being able to edit email receipts in the preview Ability to create duplicate gifts ALL fields available in Drag n Drop forms Batch gift entry fitting the screen (horizontal scrolling can be difficult because you can't see the gift you're entering data for if you've scrolled) Fix your two factor authentication, somedays I have to put in a code multiple times despite checking the box

Pros

Donor Perfect is very user friendly. The support team is exceptional. They are always very friendly, knowledgeable, patient and friendly.

Cons

I have occasionally run into a bit of a wait time for chat support. And it is sometimes hard to follow the back and forth texting.

Smooth! I have been working with DP for one month and have already been able to learn a lot of skills and hands-on experience through the Foundation Series and the help of Customer Support. The interface is also relatively user-friendly.

Pros

Support, onboarding, data report accuracy, breadth of data management options, variety of data presentation, contact to-dos

Cons

Lack of integrations -- for example, if there was a calendar integration that had your contact to-dos synced alongside the calendar where you could also put stewardship themes and important dates, that would be extremely helpful for donor management and engagement.

The ease of learning and teaching the software to others is important donorperfect has been making strides in this.

Cons

Some of the features are not as comprehensive as possible this includes things such as grant tracking and reporting and moves management. Additionally, it is now getting pricey and other software are offering a competitive price with the same functionality or more.

Overall, very positive. Although getting through the initial understanding of how the software works (from a finance office perspective) is a bit of a learning curve, it is easy to navigate once you have it down pat.

Pros

This software has been excellent for our yearly fundraising campaigns, and also for regular donations throughout the year. It encourages good communication across the board with team members, which is helpful because some of us are working remotely. I work in the finance office, and navigating to specific donations for accounting purposes was easy and efficient. I think it is well worth it. Customer support was always helpful, although we only paid for the live chat tier, they stayed with me until we got my question answered.

Cons

It is a steep learning curve, but once you've got it down it's easy. The biggest challenge for me (I work in the finance area) was navigating through different screens to see the varying details I required for each donation, because one screen shows the type of donation while the other shows the details of the actual transaction.

### "The Good and Bad of DonorPerfect"

Phone support is excellent, but the times for West Coast customer support are not great! The people who work there are very nice. The set up was challenging, but they were very accommodating.

Pros

The basics of the database are easy to use. More advanced features, not so much. You must be somewhat tech-savvy to use this database to the fullest extent. We needed many features, so we went with it, knowing it would be challenging to learn...at IT IS!

Cons

We are on the West Coast, and their phone customer service hours cater to the East Coast. They also close for lunch between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. PT.!!!! They need a West Coast tech staff. I work on my database during off hours and cannot get in touch with customer support. East Coast has customer support from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The West Coast has to adhere to East Coast hours. We do not work at 5 a.m.! Some aspects of their platform are very complicated because they partner with other vendors, and we have to go to those vendors for customer support. Sometimes, it is not clear who we should speak with. Their reporting is SO COMPLICATED! So is their Moves Management. We have wealth screen, and getting help with that isn't easy. There is not nearly enough training with their basic package, and it is very costly to get more training.

Overall, the product works well with our organization. Many customizable features allow a deeper dive into the donor persona and others can be added to enhance the experience.

Pros

The program is very customizable and allows you to create a variety of entry fields to better match your organization's needs.

Cons

Some of the reporting is pre-programmed and does not allow flexibility for those particular reports, however, you can create many personalized reports, and their support team is very helpful in providing the codes to get the results you are looking for.

Pros

The security, data and management potential, excellent customer support, and comprehensive resources available to help users maximize their impact and get the most value for their money. I am frequently running reports on behalf of my organization and that feature alone is so helpful.

Cons

I don't find DP to be very intuitive/user-friendly, but the resources available via chat support, reports, and more and compensate for that and help you navigate the software with greater ease.

Generally, my experience has been positive. We changed from another CRM that had been used for years (older, customized, not very functional) to DonorPerfect, and there are no regrets.

Pros

This is a very good CRM for a mid-size nonprofit. The platform is generally user-friendly, and the interface can be modified to suit. It allows teams to collaborate on data collection, as long as there are clear protocols in place.

Cons

Sometimes the reporting functions can be overly complex, or the canned reports not really all that useful. We wish that the annual costs were not so high, but understand that other CRMs are even more expensive.

So far, so good. After 4 weeks as a new user I was able (with help) to generate an end of year mailing list that targeted the donor groups we wanted.

Pros

As a new user on an existing account, the learning curve was not nearly as steep as I thought it would be.

Cons

Generating reports with the info we want, and not getting unwanted results was a bit challenging, but the online customer support is excellent

Pros

I like how there's a team of excellent and knowledgeable customer support agents who are ready to help me pull reports. They are also willing to dive deep into a question even if it takes a long time. They are determined to help me resolve my issue.

Cons

Not every customer service rep has the same savvy or expertise. It can take bouncing around from different reps to get my problem solved.

We’ve been using DonorPerfect to manage our donor database, fundraising, and reporting, and it has been a very helpful tool for our organization. Been very impressed with all of the data and features. I have 30 yrs experience in I.T. and am very impressed with the software and ability to capture and report information. Very stable.

Pros

Versatility and features. Can add data base fields on the fly for the screen and reporting to capture information. Like the ability to customize forms, emails and screens. Multiple payment sources for donors; PCI compliancy. Great knowledgebase and tutorials.

Cons

Having to download Classic forms into Donor Perfect. Not being able to set up Smart Actions against information coming in from the Drag and Drop new forms.

It has been excellent. We are coming up on one year using DP and have only positive things to say about the experience. It performs as promised and more than meets our needs.

Pros

The onboarding experience. We had a previous experience with another provider that was not so great and were nervous about the transition but it was so smooth and the support provided by the DP team made it seamless.

Cons

I don't have any complaints. Support is very responsive, I've only used the chat feature once, and was very happy as my issue was resolved very quickly.

I have enjoyed being able to look up donors and have space to write notes about them as well as being able to label them into different categories.

Pros

I like the search functions where I can search with donor idea or with name. I also like being able to see total giving broken down by year.

Cons

I would love more options and better options to set up donation pages. We have to use a separate donation platform because the donor perfect pages aren't pretty or user friendly.

Pros

Overall support from customer service to training videos and the knowledge base have been exceptional. I am new to my position, new to CRM systems, and and to using Donor Perfect. While many aspects of the database and running reports have been very challenging for me, the support available through Donor Perfect has been exceptional.

Cons

Running reports on Donor Perfect is an acquired skill. Many times, I have repeated the same steps for practice, but not produced the same results. I don't find the system particularly user friendly. But I also don't have experience with another CRM database for comparison.

Overall, DP is a great program. Our firm uses it for mostly thank you letters and reports. If I need to contact customer support they are always friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They help me when I am in a jam or need a question asked.

Pros

Before working at this firm I was not familiar with DonorPerfect or DP for short, but it was very easy to learn and quite a useful platform then what we had prior.

Cons

The only drawback is that sometimes DP support line is closed due to (I assume) lunchbreaks or something, and that is of course the time I needed to speak to someone.
