It has been an amazing tool to help me, as a new director, learn who the donors are and begin to reach out to them and build relationships. This has also been amazing for me to see who is engaged with us, and who I need to begin to work on better relationships with so that we can support them, and also gain future support from. Pros DonorPerfect is an easy way to keep track of donors. It helps to create mailing lists for e-blasts, as well as physical newsletters for future fundraising campaigns as well. Cons I am still learning how to use this platform, as I am 3 weeks into this position, however, the only issue I have with it is there is occasionally a lag with the human verification button at the log in screen (and that could be from my side). The workflow is logical and out-of-the-box reports are meaningful and useful. Cons The contact interface could benefit from a more modern interface. Currently, you must drill down into each entry to see full details. The system has plenty of potential and does some things extremely well. I find the customer support responsive. I think the platform is overly complex for small nonprofits. Pros Donation forms are visually appealing and easy for donors to use. Multiple donation options are a plus! proactive customer service/outreach is a nice touch. Plenty of sophisticated functionality - for those willing and able to invest the time to understand the platform. Cons Not easy to find relevant training - esp if I need it on-demand. Would love drag and drop campaign builders, I feel having to understand/remember how to customize text, how to segment, etc is a challenge for a small org. Reporting is a challenge for me - building a custom report is unnecessarily complex (and I consider myself tech savvy). August 11, 2025 5.0 Customer service is awesome, and email campaigns are user-friendly! There are so many different ways to track your donors, use all of the functionality. Pros The donor management is fantastic, and the customer support is unmatched. Definitely something I'd recommend to any nonprofit. It has been much easier to use than the previous software we had. All communication has been geared toward making Donor Perfect work for us instead of us having to adjust to how it works. Pros I have appreciated the support and training to get the most out of Donor Perfect. All the updates of trainings available as well as changes to the site like the Constituent page just added to the dashboard are well communicated. Cons I have had some difficulties in working with the filters to have only the information I want on the reports. I have chatted with customer support, but I'm a tech novice and still struggle. The DonorPerfect app makes it possible to look up donor information and take donations on the go. Pros The ease of inputting donor data, the reports that allow you to pull just about any information you need, the ease of receipting donors, and the integration with other software like Constant Contact. Cons The online forms are my least favorite part about DonorPerfect. The forms are very basic and they do not allow you to make many edits or manipulate the form to work best for your needs. It is difficult to update sponsorship information on the forms because you can't see the full description at once and there are breaks and coding involved. The staff are very personable and easy to work with. Pros As a brand new user, I have enjoyed the ease of use as we learn this product and all of its capabilities. So far, DP customer service has been much more attentive than our former database. Cons I have found it disruptive to be logged out so often if I am on another screen. I believe it times out every 20 minutes. Moving over from Raiser's Edge was a simple process, and the learning tools are very helpful. Chat Support has also been fantastic when I can't find the answers I'm looking for. Pros I love that we can design the screens to work best for us. I also appreciate that DonorPerfect has canned reports that we can use. Cons While I like the look of the new drag and drop donation forms, I appreciate the simplicity of seeing who has donated on the original donation forms. I wish DP would learn from the market and update their interface and features, and make this a better system to use. Pros The only thing I can sing praises about is the chat customer service. They are immediate to respond, thorough in their support, and thorough in follow up. I have had a fantastic experience with chat support. Cons This system is outdated, clunky, not intuitive, and overall not as good as every other CRM I have used. Their interface is old. The dashboard is customizable which is nice but it's unhelpful in so many ways that I'd rather have one of the better dashboards on the market. Pros The web interface is user friendly, customizable where it needs to be, and logical to navigate. The data migration process was well managed and as painless as it could be. Cons The pricing model which invoices on levels of records in the system was a little difficult to get to a point where we could purge the non-needed records to manage our monthly cost. It wasn't horrible, but it did cause a little heartburn in the setup process. I haven't used any other donor management software, but I've been overall happy with it. Pros It's UI is neat and easy to understand. Codes are easy to understand and quite easy to create data from. March 19, 2026 5.0 Overall experience is still a 5 star rating. I do wish there were more integrations with other platforms, and there are obviously some cons listed above, but nothing that we would stop using the platform for. Pros The ease of use continues to be a positive for this platform, along with self-paced and instructor led training which allowed us to onboard a new employee very quickly. Also love the chat feature to get answers in real time vs. having to email and wait for a response. Cons They have a drop and drag donation forms section. The downside is that unlike their classic forms, you need to actually run a separate report to get the names of the persons who have donated as it is not visible on the platform. Super inconvenient and something that we need to schedule regularly to pull. Another con is that in the classic forms the header area is not easy to work with or size. April 15, 2025 5.0 As a small nonprofit, we've found DonorPerfect to be an incredibly helpful and reliable tool for managing our donor data. The software is well designed and fairly intuitive, making it easy for staff to learn and use. Data entry is straightforward, and the receipting process is simple to manage. One of the features we appreciate most is the flexible and powerful reporting function—it’s easy to pull the information we need in a variety of ways, whether for internal tracking or board reports. But the very best part of DonorPerfect is their outstanding tech support team. Every time we've needed help, their staff has been knowledgeable, patient, accessible, and genuinely kind. That kind of support makes a big difference. After several years with DonorPerfect, we have no plans to switch—we're grateful to have a system that works so well for our organization Pros The support team always helps me with anything I need—whether it be repeating a task I rarely use, finding a solution to a new need, or " teaching" me something. I appreciate their patience and kindness. Cons It's a real problem for us that the new forms with PayPal and Venmo do not have the versatility of the old forms. Pros We are just getting started on DonorPerfect and we really appreciate all of the staff support so far with our onboarding experience. We are excited to learn all the ins and outs of this donor management platform! Cons So far we don't have any experience with a con for DonorPerfect. We did have a switch from one sales rep to another early in the process, which caused a few hiccups, but these have been resolved pretty quickly. June 23, 2025 4.0 The staff helping us with our conversion, training, and onboarding have been incredibly nice and helpful. So far most of the features like reporting, gift and funder entry, email receipting, and user settings have been very intuitive and easy to learn. A few frustrations with the integrations, since it seems like the system prefers we use DonorPerfect products, but that's not surprising. Overall, happy with our transition! Pros We really like how intuitive and well-labelled the majority of the features are in the system. And how simple yet effective it is. So far, we've found DonorPerfect to work well for our medium-sized nonprofit needs. Reporting is also fantastic, it offers so many capabilities we couldn't do before, is robust without being overwhelming and too many bells and whistles. Also love being able to send letters and emails directly from a donor's record or a gift record, and that it saves right to the contact screen. Also love the ability to easily link and soft credit gifts. Cons Integrations like Qgiv are pretty limited in capabilities because DonorPerfect really pushes its own payment processor and forms. Also, I do not feel like the system for receipting is the most user-friendly or intuitive, particularly letter receipting. The emails are fabulous. But as a used it more and called support for help, I now like it alot. The support people were very patient and helpful. They knew the product well and even helped with advanced things. Pros The ease of entering donation checks and credit card payments. It is also easy to enter a credit card and create a pledge. Cons Creating a new report is not easy. Filtering is not easy. Their customer support is friendly and knowledgeable. Having used several different CRM systems for development work over the last 35+ years, Donor Perfect is my favorite! Cons Pulling reports and setting up filters can feel a bit complex, especially when trying to extract very specific data. I would also love to see a feature that allows users to duplicate a gift entry—this would be a major time-saver for recurring gifts with identical details, such as employee giving contributions. Currently, we have to re-enter the same information and re-link donors manually. Additionally, the donor search function could be more intuitive. Pros DonorPerfect is a donor database system that allows you to customize specific landing pages for donations and routes them into the system with the user's giving history. Cons Sometimes it is difficult to use the criteria building selection for generating giving reports. I have had to consult the customer support team several times for assistance.
