Plus, we benefit from customizable dashboards, real-time reporting, integrated communication logs, and a strong security framework. For us, DonorPerfect isn’t just a tool; it’s an ally in mission-driven relationship-building. Also, DP is a tool that considers the value of money in terms of the time and security of our donors. On the other hand, they have a very efficient and attentive real-time support team; each question received a satisfactory and immediate response. Pros This past year, it helped us track donations across all stages, including those from our major annual gala and the follow-up checks that came in after. Continue to utilize it daily ongoing for our donor management and membership needs. Pros DonorPerfect continues to be an excellent platform for donor and membership management. Security seems to be very good and requires multifactor authentication. Allows the team to all work on the platform and utilize features at the same time. Search feature is excellent and platform customization allows for it to work the way we need for donor management and fundraising campaigns. Receipting feature is also a huge timesaver and helpful for efficiency. Cons I have no major complaints about the DonorPerfect platform. Only minor pieces that would help improve usefulness and access. While security is good the ongoing authentication of device every 10 days is cumbersome. The various help and tutorial services smoothed out an overall steep learning curve, and it is definitely helping us track donations, pledges, and communications with more thoroughness and accuracy (therefor allowing us to set more ambitious goals) than we have in the past. Pros DonorPerfect's customization options and flexibility are unmatched by similar donor management services that I've used. The field and code management systems took some getting used to, but they have enormous utility for pulling reports and processing data. The Chat Support help staff are fantastic; not only are they knowledgeable, but they always answer my questions thoroughly and with step-by-step instructions that are easy to follow. I'm so grateful that DonorPerfect pays real staff to assist with technical questions, rather than default to unhelp AI/automated chatbots. The expertise of the help staff (as well as the provided tutorials) are genuinely one of the highlights of the service, because they make otherwise opaque or arcane features more accessible. Cons DonorPerfect does not have a great option for inputting/crediting donations that come from more than one person (e.g. a household.) The way Donor Perfect currently treats donor couples, it requires combining two members of a couple into one donor ID, or keeping individuals separate and losing details of their combined giving. This is deeply impractical for our organization, where both partners in a couple can have unique relationships to our org that we'd like to capture. For example: a couple where one person is a volunteer leader with particular training, the other serves on a key committee, and both donate from a joint account, so arbitrarily assigning the donation to one person rather than their combined household doesn't reflect the reality of their giving. Also, we wish their automated email system allowed for conditional logic, like if a donor signed up to give monthly through our form, they could receive a different confirmation email than people who sign up one-time. We still have to pay for those things as line items though. It is a large cost for some of the simpler things we do, and rarely if at all acess the add on products. Pros The amount of features and abilities for reporting and data management, plus the integration with Constant Contact, is amazing. The support is great too. Cons It doesn't integrate well with other payment platforms, and the processing fees for credit cards is kind of high. Also we are fairly small, but we are trying to get more people as contacts, which also raises the cost. I've found that I really have no reason to look at another system, it does what I need for less than the "cadillac" systems that are crazy expensive for almost the same functionality! Pros There are some really great processes on DonorPerfect. Donor thank you letters are an almost seamless process, either in batches or in the gift screen. The event planning piece is another that I feel like I could use even better. I think it has everything we need at a more affordable price than other data management systems! Cons I'd love a few tweaks, for instance the ability to date limit people's attributes (flags) and export some reports that don't currently export - having to hand type my events report was disappointing. I generally don't have any issues with the product or system, and the support is often very helpful when needed. Pros How easy it is to keep track of donations and reports. Currently I have to create a lot of reports manually, so it is easy to find the information I need. Cons When downloading online forms and it keeps asking to create a new donor, when the same exact information is pulled. I never could understand why the system thinks a new donor should be created when literally every field is the written exactly the same. Also, I don't like that I have to re-sign in every 10 days. Why isn't this every 30 days like other websites? I have to use Donor Perfect every day for my non-profit, so on the 10th day when it asks me to wait for the verification email, it always makes me cringe since I have to wait multiple minutes for the email to come through. Pros DonorPerfect is an easy way to keep track of donors. It helps to create mailing lists for e-blasts, as well as physical newsletters for future fundraising campaigns as well. Cons I am still learning how to use this platform, as I am 3 weeks into this position, however, the only issue I have with it is there is occasionally a lag with the human verification button at the log in screen (and that could be from my side). Specifically, we recently used their Ready Set Auction app for our fundraising event, and it was a great success! The app streamlined the entire auction process, from managing items and bids to handling checkout. It saved us a significant amount of time and effort, and helped us raise more funds. The platform is consistently upgraded and improved. The resources, knowledge base, and staff are incredibly helpful. Cons Many nonprofits receive donations on various platforms, such as PayPal. It would be beneficial if DP could implement an integration that allows nonprofits to import donations from these platforms into DP, reducing human error in manual data entry. Pros Our team loves how much time it saves us compared to the system we had before, which we had to supplement with our own spreadsheets to capture the information we needed. Cons Some minor suggestions: A couple of the Foundations series videos went a little fast for us and would have been better divided into two videos each. We can pause the videos and rewatch items, but they were still a bit confusing because we watched them before our records transfer. We would have liked having some dummy constituents and records of our own before and during the import of our actual records. Would love to have chat support a little longer into the afternoon (we're Mountain Time). I have been using this product for about nine months now, so I am more familiar with its inner workings than I was when I started. Customer service has been very reliable and helpful with every issue I've had which is WONDERFUL!!! I LOVE YOU!!! I wish I could say the same about Meta's Facebook support :0 YUCK! But that is an outside issue, my apologies for digression. Pros I like the experience it offers to an inexperienced person like myself when learning about the language and context of online and paper giving, as well as campaigns, events, pledges and all those terms that I didn't know prior to using it. I also like its customizability when it comes to record keeping and characterization/organization of donor/gift information. Cons I need to manually run calculations in the FULL\_NAME section of calculated fields each time a new contact is imported from Qgiv. This is fairly simple to do, but I think it should be done automatically by the DonorPerfect program. Y'all know better than I do, but I can't think of a reason why a calculated field wouldn't be updated on a regular basis. I will run a report, and I use the FULL\_NAME field quite often in reports, but if it is a new contact imported from Qgiv, FULL\_NAME will show up empty, and I will ask myself, "Who is this donor?" and then I will remember, "Oh I need to run a calculation by hand and run the report over again." Pros Donation forms are visually appealing and easy for donors to use. Multiple donation options are a plus! proactive customer service/outreach is a nice touch. Plenty of sophisticated functionality - for those willing and able to invest the time to understand the platform. Cons Not easy to find relevant training - esp if I need it on-demand. Would love drag and drop campaign builders, I feel having to understand/remember how to customize text, how to segment, etc is a challenge for a small org. Reporting is a challenge for me - building a custom report is unnecessarily complex (and I consider myself tech savvy). Pros The donor management is fantastic, and the customer support is unmatched. Definitely something I'd recommend to any nonprofit. Cons The interface on your phone to have donors pay at events isn't as user-friendly as I'd like. DonorPerfect is defintely the best.
