Being thrown into the fire to lead our transition our online membership enrollment/auto recurring as well as other donor online gifts from Flipcause to DP, we have ZERO issues. Additionally, not having any chance to take training sessions, I have been figuring things out as needed. The system is pretty user friendly and when I have questions or trying to resolve.. the online chat has been working wonderfully. So happy that you have real live support folks - almost always they have been able to answer my questions or solve my issues. Great team. Cons The user sessions expire very quickly and is very Annoying! I and my colleague have to continually re log in. Online form - Limitations. Although we haven't had issues with our the DP Classic online forms, there is some nuances with them and what we preferred to include on them. Per our developer the limitations of DP wouldn't allow for them. Accounting integration in our Quickbooks. The UICC decided to purchase DonorPerfect as it was advised the DP could upload into QuickBooks. Unfortunately only at a consolidated gift level by GL not by donor level. So we have duplication of accounting efforts. It’s a reliable, user-friendly CRM that handles day-to-day donor management well, especially for mid-sized organizations. While some of the advanced tools and reporting features take time to fully understand, the strong customer support and ongoing training resources make it easier to grow into the system over time. Pros DonorPerfect is an excellent choice for managing a mid to large donor base (4,000+ accounts). The user interface is simple and easy to navigate, making it quick to enter gifts and update donor data. One of the main advantages is their customer support. It’s arguably the best I’ve experienced with any CRM and far surpasses platforms like Altru and Raiser’s Edge. The pre-scheduled webinars are also a big benefit; they’re practical, easy to follow, and useful for staying up-to-date on new features and improving database efficiency. Cons Some of the more advanced features and integrations can be complex, particularly with add-ons like moves management, Constant Contact, DonorSearch, and video plugins. There’s certainly a learning curve. The reporting features are comprehensive, but this also makes them somewhat overwhelming and challenging to master. With the first organization, we had been using a software that was EXTREMELY expensive, not user friendly, and locked us into lengthy contracts. The transition to DP was easy, and I appreciated the affordability and not having to sign a lengthy contract. At my current organization DP is used in a variety of ways and we still have room to grow how we use it in the future. Pros My top "like" of DonorPerfect is the online chat support. The agents are always helpful even with the most unusual question, like when I don't know who I should talk to about something I can ask the chat support agent and they will tell me. I also appreciate that chat support agents have helped me write filters and fix reporting issues. They are like having my own on-site tech! Cons I am not a fan of the dashboard. DP has preset what is measured and you can't edit the timeline. It would be great, and much more worth it, if I could. Pros DonorPerfect is an outstanding donor management solution that has greatly enhanced our ability to track and engage with our supporters. Its interface makes it simple to organize donor data, manage contributions, and generate reports. The customer support is generally excellent—responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping us succeed. Cons Currently there are two biggest cons. 1. We are unable to create household records/relationships in order to view giving & communications both at the household and individual level. 2. It is a cost effective product for our small development team and provides us with solid solutions for the reporting, mailing, and recording keeping needs we have. The customer service team goes above and beyond and always make sure issues are resloved in a timely manner. Pros Donor Perfect Online (DPO) is a great value for the cost. DPO serves our small to medium sized organization well. Its greatest assets are the simple to use reporting features and very friendly, prompt, customer service team. I've personally called their tech support often and every single time they've been able to help reslove my issue and never laughed at me when I was making a simple user error! :) Cons Our least favorite part of DPO is the way in which couples are handled in the system. If putting s couple on the same record, it is challening to identify which personal information (cell phone and email address for exmaple) goes with which person in the couple. There are work-arounds of course and we've been able to handle this with close attention to detail and consistiant recording keeping procedures. Review Source VR Verified Reviewer Accounting Assistant Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "I'm not sure about the hype " December 11, 2025 2.0 I work with nonprofit industry veterans (maybe combined experience of 50+ years) and none of them are DP experts. What I mean is that, none of their "let's do this" is easily accomplished on the DP platform. I am heavily involved in our end-of-year donations process and realizing that we're NOT using DP to track our outreach and donations received; but using DP as a redundant CRM that has to be updated manually. My secret 3-year plan is to move us out of DonorPerfect, because again, a free plan with Airtable could very easily replace our current procedure with DP. Pros It reminds me of the tech-solution optimism of the early aughts. It is "user-friendly" and offers a lot support. All of the compliments towards DonorPerfect (DP) are true. You can set up online donation forms to receive donations and DP has a native processing gateway to process that. Cons You can find a lot of out-of-the-box-plug-and-play database apps on the market today such as Notion, Airtable, etc. If you have any experience using those or learning about databases, nothing about DP makes sense. I just want to see "what is the latest donation?" "show me the last 5 donations" and I cannot get that answer immediately. It takes at least 8 clicks (Reports > Report Center > choose report > four clicks to set period > hit Run Report) and a little time drinking coffee before you can see the answer. DP is user-friendly in that, it has its own language and logic about where any information or feature is. A new user who's less tech literate will have to learn this, and yes there ARE resources, webinars, on-demand webinars, help articles, support chats, all available for you to fully master DonorPerfect. I am not sure how much of what you learn could be applied outside of DP. An impatient user familiar with databases will throw up their hands immediately just like I did. Review Source DC Daisy C. They provided me the tools and confidence I needed. I believe if you want to train your staff members in the realm of fundraising, Donor Perfect does train Pros Donor Perfect listens to their clients and actually apply client suggestions (in one of the fastest manors) . If they truly see something that does not work or make sense, they make a huge effort in being there every step of them way. Especially when making updates, they make it so clear when and where the update is. Their tutors and on demand staff are super attentive and knowledgeable in their field. They adjust their website so that it's easy to use for people who may not be knowable in data management platforms. Cons At first I noticed a bit of a lack in the volunteer aspect in the beginning and could not find tutorials that helped keep better track of volunteer work during certain time frames. They are really informative and help explain everything so that it makes the program so easy to use. Cons There is not much I don't like about DonorPerfect. The only problem I have is if somebody tries to make a credit card payment on an online form and the credit card does not go through, it automatically generates a receipt #. This means there is a receipt # missing in the sequence. Pros We are always sure our data is secure with DonorPerfect. With affordable options and great customer support, DonorPerfect is hard to beat. The fact we can have multiple users and assign tasks to them is always great. Having donors laid out in a way we can see how long have they given and how many gifts is extremely useful. Cons The Contacts menu could be a bit more intuitive and be linked to iCal or Google Calendar features to make it easier to get notifications. Forms are a bit outdated and could use refining. The email builder could also use work, since we don't realize formatting is incorrect until we are sending receipts, for example. Also, the Customer Support Team is always a pleasure to talk to. I call every few months when I need help setting up a special filter or if I am confused with something I am seeing. They are always very helpful and I never feel stupid for asking for help. Pros I like how easy it is to link donations from various donors and having all of my notes in one place. We also are able to have various members of our staff access and share their notes regarding the donors. Cons The only complaint I have is the few times their system was down. The various help and tutorial services smoothed out an overall steep learning curve, and it is definitely helping us track donations, pledges, and communications with more thoroughness and accuracy (therefor allowing us to set more ambitious goals) than we have in the past. Pros DonorPerfect's customization options and flexibility are unmatched by similar donor management services that I've used. The field and code management systems took some getting used to, but they have enormous utility for pulling reports and processing data. The Chat Support help staff are fantastic; not only are they knowledgeable, but they always answer my questions thoroughly and with step-by-step instructions that are easy to follow. I'm so grateful that DonorPerfect pays real staff to assist with technical questions, rather than default to unhelp AI/automated chatbots. The expertise of the help staff (as well as the provided tutorials) are genuinely one of the highlights of the service, because they make otherwise opaque or arcane features more accessible. Cons DonorPerfect does not have a great option for inputting/crediting donations that come from more than one person (e.g. a household.) The way Donor Perfect currently treats donor couples, it requires combining two members of a couple into one donor ID, or keeping individuals separate and losing details of their combined giving. This is deeply impractical for our organization, where both partners in a couple can have unique relationships to our org that we'd like to capture. For example: a couple where one person is a volunteer leader with particular training, the other serves on a key committee, and both donate from a joint account, so arbitrarily assigning the donation to one person rather than their combined household doesn't reflect the reality of their giving. Also, we wish their automated email system allowed for conditional logic, like if a donor signed up to give monthly through our form, they could receive a different confirmation email than people who sign up one-time. It's also scalable and offers lots of integrations, so you can do a great deal of customization. It's fairly easy to use, once it's set up, and there are a number of ways to get help or find solutions to problems. Cons Some features are a little clunky; for instance, the difference between Classic Forms and Drag-and-Drop ones is incredible, with Drag-and-Drop being much more attractive and easier to build, but it isn't an option for every type of gift. However, updates and improvements do seem to happen pretty regularly. Now that I have been in DonorPerfect and have gotten to know how helpful their support is there is no fear. I can reach out and asked any questions. I never feel there is any judgement if it is a super easy question or a complex question. I am always met with patience, willing to help, kind support team members. I also love that I am sent a record of our conversation that I have made a habit to download and keep in a folder for reference later if needed. Cons So far the only thing that I have found I do not care for is the update of the chat location. It use to be a separate window so you were able to move it when waiting and working with someone. We still have to pay for those things as line items though. It is a large cost for some of the simpler things we do, and rarely if at all acess the add on products. Pros The amount of features and abilities for reporting and data management, plus the integration with Constant Contact, is amazing. The support is great too. Cons It doesn't integrate well with other payment platforms, and the processing fees for credit cards is kind of high. It is easy to use, there's plenty of training to help build skills and network with industry colleagues. Its secure and generally user friendly. Pros I like DonorPerfect for assignable fields in reporting, ability to integrate with other systems, such as Constant Contact. Great training programs are always available. It is easy to build campaign and track progress. It is my best friend for managing my relationships with donors, and even the non-donor friends who reference new prospects. Cons The only challenges I have, are in the variety of options in building reports. Its sometimes gets to be a challenge to limit the database appropriately. Mostly that's a user problem, I forget a button or a field or add one I don't need. Some reports generate in a format in I don't love, but there's always a workaround. Review Source MW Michelle W. I have shopped around in the past but always find DonorPerfect has the best and most comprehensive features for the price. Their customer support and individual training are top notch. Every time I have called customer support they have been able to answer my question or resolve my issue immediately. I have also bought a few hours of individual training each year to help with one of my database goals and make sure I am utilizing as many features of the system as possible for what I am trying to accomplish. Pros Customer Support is top notch, ability to customize screens and reports is super helpful, it is a very robust system with a lot of capabilities. I have been using this product for about nine months now, so I am more familiar with its inner workings than I was when I started. Customer service has been very reliable and helpful with every issue I've had which is WONDERFUL!!! I LOVE YOU!!! I wish I could say the same about Meta's Facebook support :0 YUCK! But that is an outside issue, my apologies for digression. Pros I like the experience it offers to an inexperienced person like myself when learning about the language and context of online and paper giving, as well as campaigns, events, pledges and all those terms that I didn't know prior to using it. I also like its customizability when it comes to record keeping and characterization/organization of donor/gift information. Cons I need to manually run calculations in the FULL\_NAME section of calculated fields each time a new contact is imported from Qgiv. This is fairly simple to do, but I think it should be done automatically by the DonorPerfect program. Y'all know better than I do, but I can't think of a reason why a calculated field wouldn't be updated on a regular basis. I will run a report, and I use the FULL\_NAME field quite often in reports, but if it is a new contact imported from Qgiv, FULL\_NAME will show up empty, and I will ask myself, "Who is this donor?" and then I will remember, "Oh I need to run a calculation by hand and run the report over again." It's a small inconvenience, and I remember to run the calculations now, but I am thinking about future users here. Cool. Thanks for listening to me complain!!! :) Review Source GC Graham C. When more in depth assistance is needed, the one on one support has been excellent. The integration with other online giving platforms works seamlessly and makes managing donations efficient and straightforward. Cons Only minor issues at times, which are easily resolved with chat support or emailing the tech support team. Response time is fast, and the support team really cares about their customers. I generally don't have any issues with the product or system, and the support is often very helpful when needed. Pros How easy it is to keep track of donations and reports. Currently I have to create a lot of reports manually, so it is easy to find the information I need. Cons When downloading online forms and it keeps asking to create a new donor, when the same exact information is pulled. I never could understand why the system thinks a new donor should be created when literally every field is the written exactly the same. Also, I don't like that I have to re-sign in every 10 days. Why isn't this every 30 days like other websites? I have to use Donor Perfect every day for my non-profit, so on the 10th day when it asks me to wait for the verification email, it always makes me cringe since I have to wait multiple minutes for the email to come through.
