From start to finish, our experience has been excellent. We began our quest for a new database only two years ago.

Pros

DonorPerfect is very easy to use with great customer support and training. Full instructions for use are incorporated right into the site. The cost is very reasonable. Integration with Constant Contact for donor communication is easy to use.

Cons

Searching for a donor record is not always ideal as the system is not as intuitive as one might wish.

Overall, great. Definitely would recommend. We transferred from Flipcause and the ease of tracking of funds and transfer of funds, and reporting are all stellar.

Pros

Ease of use. The dashboard is very user-friendly. Maintains a great amount of information in a very clean way.

Cons

I wish they had more diverse landing pages. For some events with multiple layers it is not a great user-experience for our donors

For a small organization, the long and onerous learning curve was among our biggest challenges. Without systems experience, it would be easy for an organization to make database design and data input decisions that could be counterproductive and lead to inefficiencies. As the external advisor for the project (coming from a systems and database management background) I had the time and expertise to deep dive, “pre-navigate”, and have conversations with both front line help and Development to guide best practices. The staff did not have either the time or the background to do so. Having said that, I found that I always got answers or resolutions to issues. The Chat support has been great in either answering a question, or knowing when to escalate a problem.

Pros

Customer support is above average. System is very customizable. Having consistent trainers a definite plus. Reports module builds on the strengths of consistent input practices.

Cons

Integration with Constant Comment is weak. Support during the initial implementation (on-boarding) was extremely weak. For an organization working with their first CRM, the DP learning curve is steep. Online Forms module is weak and the Drag and Drop forms limited in functionality.

Overall, my experience with DonorPerfect has been great, and it’s been a reliable tool for our day-to-day fundraising and donor engagement work.

Pros

DonorPerfect is an outstanding donor management solution that has greatly enhanced our ability to track and engage with our supporters. Its interface makes it simple to organize donor data, manage contributions, and generate reports. The customer support is generally excellent—responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping us succeed.

Cons

Currently there are two biggest cons. 1. We are unable to create household records/relationships in order to view giving & communications both at the household and individual level. 2. Lack of a Donor Portal where donors can get their own receipts, edit, start, or stop recurring donations, etc.

So far, it has been great. The personalized training is very helpful to give me the tools I need to get the most utilization of the program!

Pros

I loved how easy it was to have them port in the information from our previous program. They also cleaned up the data. I also love that it talks right to our Quickbooks for ease of record keeping.

Cons

I struggled a little getting used to it at first, but that is in no way Donor Perfect's issue. I just chose the wrong time of year to make the transition and had too much on my plate!

This is a great donor management product. In terms of the capabilities for tracking and reporting, I've found it unmatched when compared with other software. Their customer support and training is also fantastic.

Cons

There is consistently a lag with the editing process for donor records and gifts, which is frustrating. Basically, you'll click on a box to edit it, and then the page pauses and thinks for a moment before allowing you to edit. When doing a lot of edits in a row, it can be very annoying.

Pros

Within a week of using Donor Perfect, I already felt that this platform was what we were searching for. The cost is reasonable, customer support sublime, and constant contact is a highly valued addition. Having one contract for email marketing and our donor database does not exist in the same way anywhere else.

Cons

We're till figuring out the quirks. I have to pull reports to find people who are located in a certain state instead of searching the state like in other platforms, but that's a small adjustment.

I really enjoy using DonorPerfect. There is so much that the program can do. I am constantly learning new tips and tricks to make the experience easier. I also really love the live webinars and toolkits that DonorPerfect provides.

Pros

DonorPerfect is so easy to use. I absolutely love all the training videos and articles! They are really informative and help explain everything so that it makes the program so easy to use.

Cons

There is not much I don't like about DonorPerfect. The only problem I have is if somebody tries to make a credit card payment on an online form and the credit card does not go through, it automatically generates a receipt #. This means there is a receipt # missing in the sequence.

I have recommended DonorPerfect many times over the years. The staff at Softerware have strong tenure and I have appreciated working with the same humans on support across roles and organizations.

Pros

I have used DonorPerfect for years and it is one of my favorite platforms for leading and managing a fundraising team. Reporting is easy and intuitive, workflows are clear, customer support is best-in-class and integrates well with other tools.

Cons

My only real complaint is that DonorPerfect isn't the prettiest platform for staff and for donors. It could use a little bit of a facelift, but is great value for the cost.

The collaborative features make it easy for our team to stay aligned, and the platform really does add value for the money. Most importantly, the support staff feel like true partners in our success. We consistently walk away from interactions with helpful answers and greater confidence in how we use the system.

Pros

The SmartActions are a game-changer. They save our team significant time by automating tasks that would otherwise be repetitive and opportunities for error. I also can’t say enough about the customer support. The live chat support team is always quick to respond, incredibly knowledgeable, and consistently able to guide us through even our more advanced setups. Our dedicated rep goes above and beyond, offering thoughtful solutions—even when that means advising us not to purchase an add-on we don’t really need. That kind of integrity builds a lot of trust.

Cons

There are occasional moments where the complexity of certain features takes a bit of extra time to learn. It’s not a deal breaker, but there can be a learning curve if you want to use all the more advanced options.

Super happy with our decision to go with DonorPefect. Between their training and support there are no worries of not being able to figure out what I may need to do within the system.

Pros

Customer Support has been my saving grace with DonorPerfect thus far. We recently switched CRMs in the last few months. Which any type of switch there comes the fear of the unknown. Now that I have been in DonorPerfect and have gotten to know how helpful their support is there is no fear. I can reach out and asked any questions. I never feel there is any judgement if it is a super easy question or a complex question. I am always met with patience, willing to help, kind support team members. I also love that I am sent a record of our conversation that I have made a habit to download and keep in a folder for reference later if needed.

Cons

So far the only thing that I have found I do not care for is the update of the chat location. It use to be a separate window so you were able to move it when waiting and working with someone. This is something just personal and super small!

The staff has been responsive, professional, knowledgeable and always available by phone. It is the personal touch that makes DP stand out from other CRM's I researched.

Pros

Our organization is new to DonorPerfect. We are in the initial phase of getting our constituents migrated, but in the meantime I am working though the webinars, which I find impressively well done. I am able to maneuver through DP while I learn and it is very intuitive. I signed up with DP because I was convinced it would be "easy" and so far it is exceeding my expectations!

Cons

I haven't found anything I don't like yet. I'm looking forward to getting our data uploaded so we can schedule mailings and see results!

Overall, my experience is great! I love their customer service and willingness to help. It would use an update on the field thing but compared to other programs I've used, this is a million times better!

Pros

CUSTOMER SUPPORT is AMAZING!!!! They are always there for you, they try as hard as they can to help you with your problem. They will go above and beyond, they will even send you a follow up email with instructions or anything else you might need.

Cons

That there are some things that can't be changed if it's not a field. For example, if I misspell or miss labeled a batch name, once committed I can't change it.

We've been users of DonorPerfect for a couple of years now, and it's been a great experience from the beginning. Moving over from Raiser's Edge was a simple process, and the learning tools are very helpful. Chat Support has also been fantastic when I can't find the answers I'm looking for.

Pros

I love that we can design the screens to work best for us. I also appreciate that DonorPerfect has canned reports that we can use.

Cons

While I like the look of the new drag and drop donation forms, I appreciate the simplicity of seeing who has donated on the original donation forms.

Cons

DonorPerfect is not as customizable for forcasting as I would like. Adding mass contacts when sending mailers is something that I would like but have not been able to do.

I grew as a professional using Donor Perfect as it helped me manage an entire foundation where I was the only one running the system. They provided me the tools and confidence I needed. I believe if you want to train your staff members in the realm of fundraising, Donor Perfect does train

Pros

Donor Perfect listens to their clients and actually apply client suggestions (in one of the fastest manors) . If they truly see something that does not work or make sense, they make a huge effort in being there every step of them way. Especially when making updates, they make it so clear when and where the update is. Their tutors and on demand staff are super attentive and knowledgeable in their field. They adjust their website so that it's easy to use for people who may not be knowable in data management platforms.

Cons

At first I noticed a bit of a lack in the volunteer aspect in the beginning and could not find tutorials that helped keep better track of volunteer work during certain time frames. But again because I expressed this kind of concern, they actually listened, now I get to see the DP grow is such a positive way!

My overall experience is very good. It is easy to use, there's plenty of training to help build skills and network with industry colleagues. Its secure and generally user friendly.

Pros

I like DonorPerfect for assignable fields in reporting, ability to integrate with other systems, such as Constant Contact. Great training programs are always available. It is easy to build campaign and track progress. It is my best friend for managing my relationships with donors, and even the non-donor friends who reference new prospects.

Cons

The only challenges I have, are in the variety of options in building reports. Its sometimes gets to be a challenge to limit the database appropriately. Mostly that's a user problem, I forget a button or a field or add one I don't need. Some reports generate in a format in I don't love, but there's always a workaround.

I've been using DonorPerfect for the last 3 years now, and it has been fine. I haven't used any other donor management software, but I've been overall happy with it.

Pros

It's UI is neat and easy to understand. Codes are easy to understand and quite easy to create data from.

Cons

Some of the reports are a bit finicky. Our Pledges balance due is inconsistent with the total giving report, simply because some people gave extra over their pledge.
