It can be a great asset to any tech-savvy person like freelancers, content writers, social media marketer, designer or video editor. It is easy to use. Pros Pixabay is the first choice for my daily stock media library. The media library of pixabay is really great. It offers millions of photos, videos, illustrations, vectors, sound effects, music, and GIFs and it's completely free. If you are looking for copyrighted free media or stock photos, then pixabay is the option for you. Cons The downside of pixabay, you wouldn't get stunning quality media all the time. I use their videos everyday and I edit them, and I use some of their music and I make sure to read copyrights as some platforms doesn't allow copyrighted music. Pros I love the fact that I can download videos and sound effects for free and I can use them for anything as long as I edit them not put them out there as they are. Cons The best videos are on IStock and IStick is very expensive, Pixabay should stand on their own without IStock. You have to make sure to read copyrights and now Canva owns then which we can't use certain images the way we want. Canva and IStock are hoarding good quality products from Pixabay and it is not fair. You have to pay the subscription and the artist separately. Therefore I need to create a lot of contents for various digital platforms. I get a lot of my contents from google search but sometimes some contents are licensed that's when pixabay comes in handy. There are a lot of high quality options available in pixabay that can be used for editing and development of your digital contents. Even though the library is not as vast as google it is still an amazing platform for free contents. Getting images in different formats really helps when I need the same image for different purpose.overall a really good option for anyone who is not willing to spend a lot on premium services. Pros 1\. it's license free therefore no hassle of purchasing or dealing with watermarks.2. All the contents are in high quality and downloadable.3. Images are high resolution and available in different formats like PNG, SVG, JPEG Cons 1\. Library is limited sometimes you can't find what you are looking for.2. Videos are only available in 1080p, no 4k quality.3. Audio is only available in MP3 format, other formats like WAV, AAC are missing. Pros I loved Pixabay since the moment I discovered it because it was giving out something no other service was giving at the time. An attribution free and commercial friendly license for the assets. It was a big deal when the stock images are expensive. Cons While it is a great product, the collection is limited. I can't complain when I'm getting assets for free and attribution free. The image search works really well, and within a couple of minutes of searching and scrolling I can usually find what I need. This is a superb resource. I have to create online learning materials and Pixabay is one of my goto resources for finding high quality images. I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and have done so a number of times. Cons Just occasionally I select an image that perfectly fits my needs, only to find out that it is not actually a free image but an iStock image that needs to be purchased. There's are options to download smaller or larger file sizes. Pros I always use pixabay whenever I need a stock photo for something, or even if I just want a reference of something to use for a new drawing or to get ideas because it's free and there are usually quite a lot of good options for most searches. You can also search by category of illustrations, photos or vectors. Cons There isn't anything I don't like, especially considering it's free! There are sometimes better photo options with Shutterstock and you will see those options as ads on the pixabay page, however it depends what you're looking for and if you want something free you can always find something!
