### "Great software!"

October 12, 2017

4.0

I have recommended it to several colleagues as the only way to go.

Pros

We have been using PracticeFusion at our clinic for the past several years. Although it is designed for doctors, it is customizable so that we can use it with our psychotherapy clinic. It makes scheduling and charting simple and is always at my fingertips as I can access it anywhere.

Cons

It's not specifically designed for therapists. It was designed with doctors in mind, which I'm sure makes a doctor's office a better fit.

### "Not bad but..."

December 5, 2016

3.0

I used PF for several years in my practice. We were forced to switch EHR's when the company suddenly instituted a sign in the process requiring you to "authenticate" your browser before you could get into the system. We were locked out our EHR for about 2 weeks and the company also discontinued to offer email support at the same time, rather only having support from within the software, to which we could not log in. So this didn't work out and we were literally forced to change EHR's. As far as for use, It had bugs and issue like any software would have but overall it was fairly easy to use. The ads aren't terribly intrusive and make the software free which is good.

Pros

Free, easy to use

Cons

Security is so secure that even you can't use it

### "If You Want To Wait 24 hours to 2 days For Support This is For You"

April 3, 2018

3.0

Alscripts needs to get their act together and realize that having a functioning EHR is critical to patient care.

Pros

It's relatively inexpensive

Cons

You have to wait to talk to anyone from customer service. Sent a support ticket on Saturday, got an email on Tuesday that someone would be in touch with help. Finally found a real telephone number and spoke to a live person only to be told someone would call me in 24 hours. I'm not holding my breath. Apparently, very high call volume. I can guess why.

### "Bonus on notes-Sad on most the rest"

December 20, 2016

2.0

Practice Fusion is an easily accessible EHR. Clinicians like that the notes can be saved in parts and brought in. However, the Summary page requires the Lab and Rad that will be seen on it have to be pre-built into the format. This works well for offices that rarely order more than 10 things, but for others, it increases the risk of missing following up or even knowing about an order. Overall functionality is acceptable and you can do everything you need for patient care, although not too easily. The scheduler does not have a way to drive app types to designated times. Reporting is very limited and many reports do not allow you to export them to Excel, etc (for example you can download a report of patients by condition, but not by payor). PF said it was because of security! Reporting is limited beyond the standard needs. I have an issue that was opened 2 months ago about a major piece of functionality that when I tried to use it locked up. We will be electing to use another software product and PAY for it.

Pros

Easy clinical notes--can save portions to upload into the note

Cons

Order/result views. Little Scheduler setup/control. Reports all pre-existing, many do not export. When linking from a view with multiple patients listed to open the chart, you have to rerun the view to get to the next one. Broken functionality not fixed in 2 months.

### "Intuitive, Effective EHR "

April 20, 2017

4.0

We really enjoy working with Practice Fusion. We have several providers and the ease of this EHR is very important and beneficial to us. It is an excellent fit.

Pros

Intuitive and easy to use; cost effective; covers broad scope of clinical needs (scheduling, SOAP note, messages, medications)

Cons

Requested updates take a long time and often no resolve is met. While customer service is very friendly, they are not helpful in regards to reporting concerns with the EHR and providing information for updates.

### "Not worth it- POOR customer service"

March 27, 2020

2.0

It was much better as a free software- since they were purchased by Allscripts pharmaceutical adds pop up constantly and there is no way to get rid of them. Customer service used to be better, but again with Allscripts it is beyond terrible

Pros

low price, not difficult to use can upload own templates

Cons

Ads pop up all over and take up a good part of the screen. Customer service is terrible- they never return calls or emails for support Patient portal is marginal at best

### "OD"

June 15, 2018

4.0

I think of it this way. It has been free for so many years. I have participate Meaningful Use before and got incentive payments. That means I even made money without investment. In general, I don't blame the previous owner. I guess when it was difficult to continue the business as is, there has to be a change.

Pros

I customized templates myself to optimize the charting workflow in the past. It was much more efficient and accurate than the new EHR I just started to use (1/4 of time). I only need charting and billing for exam payment before. Now I need dispensary and manage inventory, I have to use a full EHR for OD. It was just about the timing PF stopped offering free version. So I didn't use the paid version. I can still view my previous charting and appointment records through PF. That is good. But I was a little bit frustrated with new way of maneuvering through charting. I even debate keeping both EHR to give myself peaceful mind.

Cons

Obviously not free anymore. Free forever? I didn't even believe it from the very beginning. It sounds right to get paid by advertisement. But, it is not something that is sufficient and guaranteed forever.

### "BETTER WHEN FREE"

August 1, 2018

4.0

Hopefully things will improve Now that money isRequired to participate in this software. It is not geared up for specialists. That's a problem

Pros

This was just great when I was free, It does connect to a large number of labsWhich willEasily import laboratory dataFor each patient.

Cons

There is absolutely no customer support.Days go by before you get a response and oftenThere's just no help. When you do get help it is spotty. Admittedly some -But Very few - Support personnel helpful.

### "Very little interest in helping the physician; bugs are never fixed. Platform is unstable."

June 11, 2017

3.0

Free software

Pros

Free. That is great thing. I have created multiple templates over the years which suit my needs. Ads are not terribly intrusive.

Cons

But there is almost no interest in streamlining for the physician. simple bugs are often never fixed. Refuses to upgrade so that controlled substances can be sent electronically, and to print to fax is unnecessarily burdensome. Platform is unstable and system often crashes. AT times you lose data.

### "This is the best EMR system I could imagine "

January 14, 2021

5.0

I would recommend this system to anyone who is in the healthcare field. With no hesitation.

Pros

I love being able to access every patients information so effortlessly. I am able to access messages from providers, relay messages to the patients, update their entire profile with the click of a button. With every doctors encounter it is so simple to go through templates and record any new information.

Cons

I don’t love that I need to update the patient’s PMH in addition to updated vaccines, surgical history, etc. but that is a small price to pay for the amazing system that it is.

### "Serious decline in program in 2018, no longer offer support"

October 21, 2018

1.0

Not worth it for the price, better off paying more for a company that cares, especially if you are in a small practice.

Pros

Cost is lower than others, used to be free. Can eRX controlled substances which is a bonus. Otherwise nothing great.

Cons

Cannot get tech support to call me for my life, get to talk to "triage techs" to then create tickets that are never answered, terrible patient portal system, horrible MIPS support, no personal attention for small practices.

### "You get what you pay for."

April 21, 2018

1.0

Switched to an open source software that is much better.

Pros

For free EHR it is functional. E-prescribing works great even though it takes forever to set up. Templates are decent and customizable.

Cons

No customer support -- just forums. Poor integration with labs and imaging. Cumbersome to up load any documents. Poor integration with dictation. The superbill is cumbersome. Actually practice fusion is just cumbersome and the will start charging in June.

### "Easy at first, now I am starting to look for other EMR, since not getting much tech support"

July 25, 2017

3.0

free software when i was unable to afford it.

Pros

Free, easy to use, I love its concept. It helped a lot when I first opened my office. I have all the labs I use integrated into the system.

Cons

I am unable to get prescription requests thro' escript from the pharmacies for last 1 year, I have been crying for help but none of the techs have been able to solve it! Notes still shows ICD 9 codes. Billing too complicated so had to out source.

### "Good EHR at any price, but the new update may have ruined it."

April 23, 2015

3.5

Pros

Free EHR is hard to beat especially when I know other offices have paid 35+K for their EHR and have received little to no help setting it up. Comprehensive with all the info needed for charting and meaningful use. It WAS easy to set up and start using.

Cons

The new update is terrible and may have ruined a great EHR. It WAS an easy to use, comprehensive, well thought out EHR. It is completely different now and is requiring a whole lot of time re-learning and navigating what I was using without difficulty. I am a health care provider not a computer engineer nor a data entry clerk The updated version takes a lot more time away from my patient care. The new update needs a new update! Like I said, I'm not a computer geek so, if I can use it anybody can....but the updated version is much more complicated.

### "Practice Fusion Meets my needs"

February 18, 2018

3.0

I have used EPIC for 15 years so my bar is pretty high. I haven't tried any other EMRs. I've been using PF for 5 months now and I'm starting to get more fluid.

Pros

It's free which was very helpful starting up as a part time solo practitioner. But I keep hearing that it will no longer be free since it was recently purchased. Lots of pre-made templates, I don't use them as I don't find them helpful, but someone else might. You can make your templates, which is not intuitive, but once you figure it out it's a real time saver E-mail appointment reminder system Electronic medication ordering system There is a way to do electronic billing through PF but it is not free and I haven't used it There is capacity to receive labs directly into PF but it is not free and I haven't used it

Cons

Ads on pages are annoying The screen for typing into is too small Notes section on Profile Page is too small No Text appointment reminder system None of my patients seem to be able to figure out the patient portal I find it cumbersome jumping between SOAP tabs, there may be easier ways to do it but I haven't taken the time to learn.

### "Our clinic used the free component for scheduling"

July 24, 2018

3.0

Would love to use all features of this product. Not cost effective now that I"m self-employed.

Pros

Provides HIPAA compliancy for scheduling. Options for remote access to identify your schedule when not at work. It helped our office manager coordinate multiple clinicians' schedules.

Cons

Our clinic did not opt to pay for this service which would allow us to chart! I wish they did as paper notes are the worst!! No real complaints about this software.

### "Free EMR"

May 17, 2017

4.0

It is very user friendly, and absolutely wonderful for independent practices!

Pros

First it is free. It is set up close to most "typical EMR's" making it easy to use and easy to learn. Another Pro built in electronic prescription with eligibility feature built in the program. Easy to learn about medicare requirements and apply to notes for appropriate documentation.

Cons

Difficult to come up with personal templates. Though you can customize a template, but the ability to make exactly how you want is not an available feature. It would be nice to have E & M calculator for the Superbill/billing.

### "FREE. Great for records but you will definitely need more softwares to run a full practice. "

November 1, 2017

4.0

Pros

FREE.. FREE.. IT IS FREE and very good with EMR, my practice uses it for when we have a patient and we need multiple doctors who work at the their own practices to review EMR. Easy and Fast!!

Cons

You need to integrate other softwares if you want to do billing and inventory. So you must become proficient with this software and quickbooks.

### "Easy to use"

September 17, 2017

HIPAA compliant free electronic medical records.

Pros

Have to train students three times per year and they catch on really quickly. We are a student-run free clinic so the students graduate and I have retrain the next group.

Cons

Reports need to be more robust. I have to hand count many items I need for grants. We do not bill for services and the reporting that is built in does not cover the information I need at times.

### "Terrible customer service"

January 25, 2019

1.0

Pros

I like being able to make my own templates. I also liked that initially the service was offered for free.

Cons

I originally started using Practice Fusion because it was free. Then they started to charge for it. Instead of customer service improving, it became much worse. Responses from them take days and they often don't even address the issue you're asking about. I would recommend staying away.

### "Laborious"

August 16, 2018

It would be better if the default charting was normal findings, and you only had to select a template or enter a short text to change to a positive finding

Pros

I like that I can find my previous entries easily, so that I can copy and paste and then edit easily.

Cons

Charting takes a long time. There should be more automatic templates so I do not need to type so much. If they are available, then learning how to use them is not so obvious.
