### "PRACTICE FUSION USER "

February 27, 2020

4.0

RUNS A LITTLE SLOW. SHOULD BE ABLE TO ADD MULTIPLE INSURANCE CASES LABELED ACTIVE OR INACTIVE.

Pros

ABILITY TO FILTER APPOINTMENTS BY PROVIDER, PENDING, ARRIVED OR CANCELED. ABILITY TO UPLOAD DOCUMENTS TO FILES. EMAIL/TEXT PATIENT REMAINDERS.

Cons

ODD HOW YOU HAVE TO APPROVE FILES UPLOADED FROM ANOTHER SCREEN. CAN NOT ADD SEPARATE PINNED NOTES. WISH YOU CAN CREATE NEW CASES SAVING OLD INSURANCES.

### "Good product for a reasonable price"

March 1, 2019

4.0

A good model for cloud-based EHR. Has all the basic bells and whistles and is very much reasonably priced.

Pros

Simple, intuitive interface. Has all the necessary bells and whistles. Frequent updates to stay in touch with users. Excellent knowledge base and training videos if you have any questions.

Cons

They can change things overnight and you have to adjust. They still lack some key features.

### "Think carefully before using "

April 14, 2017

3.0

I have used practice fusion since 2010. In the beginning, tech support was helpful and expedient. While there were many system fixes, in the beginning, they generally improved the situation. However, over the last several years, the tech supports has declined significantly. Even more frustrating is the ability to communicate with a supervisor to resolve issues. Most recently, there is an error in a drug called Belbuca, only approved for pain because Practice fusion feels that it is the same as suboxone!. Have tried to explain to many tech support, same pull down menu. A little better on the phone but no change in results. Ridiculous that this cannot be resolved.

Pros

Free

Cons

Poor customer support.

### "We have used PF in our clinics for the past 5 years. We are a nonprofit free clinic w/ 3500 patients"

April 25, 2018

4.0

Pros

That its web based. Our providers are volunteers and aren't here every day, or even every week, which means they can review lab results, etc from home or wherever. It helps our efficiency tremendously. I also love that its free for non-profits ;)

Cons

It was very difficult to get Admin support. Long waits to get live support...like hours or more than a day.

Practice Fusion is a helpful means a health care management and saving the details in the patient. It is safe and easy to use and also to learn to navigate.

Cons

You need always to click save for the task you've done will be save.

### "Functional EHR"

May 3, 2019

4.0

Practice Fusion has been cost effective. Initially it was free, and the price now is competitive. It works well for a small business.

Pros

The software is easy to install, and is updated frequently to meet new requirements.

Cons

It is difficult to make phone contact when there is an immediate need. In general though, once a “ticket” is created, someone does get back to you quickly.

### "Was great when it was free"

January 25, 2019

3.0

Pros

It was free and had met Medicare Quality Measures. It was relatively easy to use and the videos were great.

Cons

It had limited availability to integrate radiology services so we were unable to meet the next years quality measures. Plus the had a fall out with Kareo integration so it caused us to have to do double work for data entry.

### "Practice Fusion May Be Timed Out"

April 12, 2019

3.0

Since it has gone to a pay to use status the few benefits of Practice Fusion have been negated. Given the clunkiness of the site, slow support it is not worth paying the price for.

Pros

Practice Fusion was an early option for EMR. It used to be free but recently changed to a pay platform. The free part was the most enticing thing about it.

Cons

Clunky to use. Never could get it all figured out beyond a few basics. Lots of templates made by other providers and clinics but that just made finding the right one a bit of mass confusion.

### "Worked well when free, but was deceived when new \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] took over"

July 28, 2020

5.0

Pros

Used Practice fusion for multiple years at an acupuncture clinic. Worked well, basically had everything we needed, though it was definitely created for medical doctors.

Cons

Old \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] had been very clear that the software would be free for users forever (with advertising), and so we uploaded all of our old patient files (which took forever) and used it exclusively for new patients. However, after using it for 4 years, the new \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] decided they would take back their previous \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] commitment to keeping software free and start charging $100/month. It was a hassle to switch to another, more affordable, EHR software and as a user, I felt deceived.

### "Great software considering that it is free."

May 14, 2018

4.0

Beginner-friendly

Pros

Very easy to get use to. It allows you to autopopulate referrals and previous prescriptions among other things. Vitals are easy to enter and encounters and superbiller are easy to grasp for a beginner. The schedulers is easy to use as well.

Cons

Freezes up more than it should. When entering patient demographics there are a lot of cumbersome steps. Getting access codes to get a patient on the portal is a little confusing if they are not computer savvy. The schedulers has a couple flawd because it's hard to learn how to double- book since it defaults to certain increments that your practice may not follow along with.

### "Practice Fusion is GREAT"

July 14, 2017

5.0

Pros

I have been using this product for 3 years. Implementation was easy and the staff was wonderful. They are constantly upgrading the product to make it compliant with the never ending, government regulations. The help desk is wonderful. Having remote access on my cellphone is amazing and helps when patients call after hours.

Cons

This is a cloud based system. It has gone down in the past, but the crew at Practice Fusion has made corrections very rapidly. The worst outage was related to general downtime from AT&T.

### "Very good, for its price"

August 21, 2018

4.0

Very good software for specialists, not helpful for family care, where g codes are needed, cpt codes

Pros

Cheap, really easy to use, synopsis page, no need to download a program, online base system, patient portal with direct communication ( which helps reducing tons of phone calls). Obviously basic Emr features like rx, labs, fax, referrals.

Cons

A lot of free typing, need for sections like hx surgeries, social hx, preventive with templates or justs clicks. Attachments can not be divided in categories. Addendums per sections not general.

### "A very good value for your investment."

April 17, 2020

5.0

Practice Fusion was my first introduction into the world of Electronic Health Records. It provided a very helpful in transitioning my non-force chiropractic practice from paper files to electronic records.

Pros

Easy to navigate, the opening page shows an efficient overview of my practice beginning with my last patient encounter. Easy to create customizable templates that relate to my unique non-force chiropractic practice. Easy to find individual patient data with a minimum of clicking.

Cons

Customer Support was spotty and long wait times common.

Reason for choosing Practice Fusion

One of my patients who has been a successful EHR Programmer for a major San Francisco hospital suggested that I try Practice Fusion. I am very grateful of his recommendation!

Cons

### "Free, but has some drawbacks"

June 8, 2017

4.0

When we started using Practice Fusion 8-9 years ago, it was incredibly well supported and functional for the time. However, over time it has had less and less support, and has had several episodes of downtime in the past year which were incredibly disruptive. However, it's the best system available for free in my opinion.

Pros

It's free!!!! Good for the small practice In connects to electronic faxing system (Updox) for a fully electronic office

Cons

It used to be very intuitive, but is a little less so now. It doesn't have the level of support that is needed for a FT practice.

### "Comprehensive EHR system"

April 18, 2019

Patient charting has become a breeze with Practice Fusion and makes our staff more efficient.

Pros

It includes everything I need to run a small functional medicine clinic. HIPPA secure Electronic health records and communication portal with patients. Anything you need to do to run your practice is included: payments and scheduling, lab results sent direct, and numerous reports can be run.

Cons

There are a lot of features included and it takes some exploration to fully use all the features.

### "Practice Fusion"

April 12, 2017

4.0

I have used Practice Fusion at two different offices. It is a free product and qualifies for the federal incentive programs. It is capable of completing all of the basic requirements of a physician's office. The providers did not have trouble using it and we still use it in one of our smaller offices.

Pros

Free program, qualifies for the government programs, fairly easy for the providers to navigate.

Cons

Cannot be used to do Rural Health billing. Support was more personal in the beginning, now most problems are handled by e-mail rather than speaking with a person.

### "Could improve some options for psychiatrists; especially for contact that is not covered by options"

January 30, 2018

4.0

Pros

ease of use, combines a lot of functionalities in one place, organized well, good customer support, great value for the money, responsive company

Cons

not completely up to date on ICD 10 codes for psychiatry - slow to update for psychiatrists in past; has some bugs related to psychiatry medications - for no reason at all - it suddenly will take a medicine I prescribed a month before - off its list - replace it with the generic name and I have to re-enter start dates that I no longer access

### "Was free"

March 15, 2018

I'm glad I am nearing retirement.

Pros

Generally easy to use. It has been free up till now. Cloud-based, so can access from anywhere. No in-office hardware required

Cons

Once it was free. The company was acquired by Allscripts and they have to recoup their investment. Cost based model offers minimal new features.

### "Best Cost Effective EMR"

January 4, 2017

5.0

Have used in-house software, commercial (expensive) cloud-based software, and came to rely on Practice Fusion (PF). It is a cloud-based, template driven, a multi-platform software that is quick (depending on internet speed). Whereas other software requires you to use a single computer platform, PF works on Mac OS, iPad, as well as PCs. PF is also dynamic, no only are there multiple releases with new features each year, the user interface and templates can be modified on the fly to make patient charting quicker and more efficient. I highly recommend PF.

Pros

see above

Cons

nothing, its better than other out there

### "Good functionality, although not always intuitive to use"

February 14, 2018

4.0

Pros

This software is able to be used by providers from multiple disciplines (e.g., physicians and their charting needs, as well as psychotherapy notes)

Cons

Some of the functions are not intuitive, such as where to click to find a desired task. The window where I write notes also has many sections that I don't need but am unable to clear away, thus limiting the space I do actually want to write my note. However, it's designed for a medical practice rather than for my needs (therapy).
