The consultants are extremely helpful. Pros Documents kan be saved to vaults with the same hierarchy needed to interface with an asset management application. Retired-Consultant Utilities Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great tool with limitations" March 2, 2026 3.0 Meridian workflows were a great enhancement that were easy to setup & work directly with internal processes & standards. The portal has been a bit more limited, and we found that we had to change process to work within the portal, as many of these are with outside contractors it was easy enough to use the workflow within the portal. Pros This gives control back to the host for our external contract collaborators, as well as moves much of the tasks back on the contractor away from internal support. We have been managing the documents for external contractors & sending them the documents to update. Now we just manage the documents and allow them to do their own design updates while we manage the documents. Cons We love Meridian as a DM tool internally & expected the Portal to help with all the external contractors that do design engineering on our documents, which it has helped a lot, but we still find it a bit cumbersome & time consuming getting the documents into portal & upon completion back in Meridian on-prem. The potential is good btu users complain about how to use the system, so the interface needs to improve. Pros Trackability of action and the customisation of the interface. The direct integration with application such as Autodesk, Bentley and Windows. Control of existing information Multiple customised workflows for different document types. Cons Meridian Power Web user interface is dated. The errors logs for Power web packages sent to portal are not descriptive enough so we dont know the issue. Bulk number creation is difficult and time consuming, PowerWeb should have a a bulk built in table to create numbers. PowerWeb should have a multi document upload capability matching drawing numbers for bulk upload. External project collaboration is difficult with multiple contractors, we need a CDE type enviroment, also the contractor should be able to search our master library for existing documents and create a RFI via the portal. We seem to have issues where the system is working then suddenly stop working, so the system seems very sensitive to changes, needs to be more satable. It maintains correct information of versions of the documents, and it is also accessible easily. Pros Meridian provides a comprehensive solution for Electronic Document Management due to which engineering teams keep current with the latest versions of their engineering documents and drawings. It maintains the correct relationship between the documents and accurate technical information. It provides document version control to prevent users from working on incorrect versions. Cons User/ Security management needs to be more robust and foolproof. It needs to venture for other web servers to provide more seamless access to users over the web. Review Source PV Paul V. Pros Meridian Enterprise is (one of) the best EDM Systems on the market with efficient and effective search capabilities to edit and store the latest accurate documentation. Cons Meridian Portal is still not on par and needs a lot more configuration as it is not user friendly and has issues communicating well with Power. Many users get very confused because of the minimal information on the document status in the workflow. Meridian Power and Explorer are much more intuitive and if something is entered incorrectly one gets an error message with clarification. In Portal you can't see what went wrong and it causes issues after the fact. I misse the legacy Accruent Academy site which was more formal and better tailor to follow attendee's training evolution. I like also the new Accruent Custom Center which is easier to access and with short videos, it makes it a better solution to find an answer quick when you have questions. Pros Its versatility to be configure and integration with different software. It make it a powerfull tool to be use offline and remotely. Cons The time it takes to solve issues with software. Not having a direct contact with Accurent make the resolution of the case tedious and the time to resolve case too long. Review Source JG James G. It consistently meets our company needs and the additional features brought with Meridian Cloud have only made our user experience better. Pros Meridian sets the bar for drawing management. The workflows between as-builts and projects are perfect for our company needs. Being able to search for keywords in CAD files is a huge time saver. Cons Only thing I would find more useful is more customization on the depth of folders in default view. Cons Licensing model restrictions on number of users, for example, if we want to onboard another 250 users, I will have to get approval from our IT department to spend a lot more money just to onboard users to the system who only need a display access. Cons Hard to find stuff even with the search feature. Very clunky adding files and the wizard use. Upgrading is difficult. Pros Meridian Enterprise organizes our assets by storing them in 'vaults'. All assets can be documented with drawings, graphics, maintenance information and so on. This makes it possible to document large infrastructure projects and to disclose this information to a larger public. Also, it can be linked to other information systems, so the information becomes even more accessible. Cons It takes some time to learn how to use it.
