Pros Moving from Paylocity to Workday was a breath of fresh air. The platform is intuitive and engaging. Cons I did find running reports to be a bit of a challenge. Pros Workday is a great tool to track vacation time, sick time and holiday time, it allows the user submit time for approval and manager to approve or dis approve the time allotted with comments and time is tracked for the entire year based on hours. Pros I use Workday mostly for clocking in and out everyday and submitting time sheets. I’ll also use it for Workday Learning, which consists of learning modules relevant to my company. I’d say altogether it’s very straightforward to use. Cons I wish that I could reorganize apps on the Home Screen of the mobile app to better suit what I use most. The recruitment dashboard is a great plus and has made our lives easier. Another good thing about Workday is that it syncs with Expensify and Netsuite. Cons I have not come across any issues so far, so everything is good for me. While the user interface is appealing, it is not navigational-friendly. One must either know what the name of a module is to search for, or enter a few words to search with. However, searching on random words rarely results in what one is wanting to locate. Additionally, the expense management module is not intuitive to know what data to enter unless a document is provided with the appropriate information. Unfortunately, this is also the case for other expense management systems that I have used, so it seems to be indicative of the flow within those types of systems rather than specific to Workday. Pros Workday integrates various personnel functions into a single platform. Some of the most used and useful are time reporting for projects, time off request and tracking, and expense report submission and tracking. The basic user interface is appealing. The payment management module is a strong function that allows employees to access their pay and benefits. Cons Not all of the features or functions are available from a list menu. Users must search for a feature or function much like searching for a topic or document in a content management system. It appears that end users cannot add to their favorite list, although this may be a function that can be restricted by the administrator. An example is the MyTime module. Even though it may be used weekly to submit time, it does not show up on list of routinely used features. Pros Delegation and organization of employee workflow tasks is a breeze with Workday. The application is very user friendly and allows for the creation and implementation of tasks, whether for a small or massive workforce so that even the biggest projects can be easily broken down into steps and achieved with ease. The mobile app is handy for quick tasks, and it’s great for larger companies that want everything connected. Cons It’s not the most user-friendly platform. Sometimes it takes a lot of clicks to find what you’re looking for, and the layout can feel confusing if you’re new to it.
