Pros I inherited Cvent. The community forums (especially the hacks) are a great resource. Cons One of the most disappointing aspects of Cvent was being told several years ago that we "had to switch to Flex" since Classic was being discontinued, and as of August 2020, there are many features still not available in Flex. So many features were not in play once Flex was rolled out that we put all our 150+ events back into classic. The convoluted process to do many tasks within the platform is frustrating for everyone (literally everyone) in our organization who has used it for the past six years. Reason for choosing Cvent Event Management While this happened before I joined the organization, according those who made the final decision, name recognition was the primary reason. Using Cvent provided everything we needed - we were looking for one software to host registration, process tickets, and provide a mobile app. Cons Overall it was great but we ran into issues syncing the promo codes with the Salesforce intergration. It's great bc it links to the sessions, they can click through to see where they are on the map, and they can see the speakers and bios as well. The gamification helps us get the attendees to use the app and get engagement going. I also like the sponsorship opportunities w the splash screen and banner ad graphics. It easily integrated w CVENT so our attendees are updated in real-time. Cons Most features are good and useful. I do feel like the support from CrowdCompass staff could be better and more timely. It is possible that you can use it for every step of your planning process starting with venue choice, through budgeting and marketing, and ending with full reporting and broadcasting. It also has multiple platforms built into it that allow your meetings to run smoothly. These include web applications for attendees, quick registration tools, and various ways to track your progress along the way. They also provide integration with their own tools as well as some tools your company/organization may already be using. Throughout the entire process, CVent provides excellent customer support with check-ins that meet your needs/desires. If you'd like them to check in they will and they will also frequently review your account to find ways in which you can better utilize their assistance and products! If you'd rather have a hands-off approach, they're fine with that too. Pros I appreciate the many tools that exist within the Cvent system. It's truly remarkable that CVent can help you plan and successfully execute every moment from the first step onwards. They seem to have thought of everything! Cons I have found that since they are often attempting to 'do it all', the reporting options through Cvent can often be very cumbersome and leave you sifting through too many options. It is truly your one-stop shop event management platform tool. It is a user-friendly software, allowing planners to build and manage registrations, send email, manage surveys, and run reports. Best of all, to feel at-ease knowing that you are providing a positive and seamless registration experience. Cvent has made and have continued to make enhancements in the ever-changing events industry. They are innovative and welcome customer feedback for product improvements. Their customer service are well-knowledge and have been extremely helpful whenever I ran into issues. Cons We have specific event and survey reporting and data needs so some of the selected fields lack the customization (this has been addressed to Cvent so hopefully they're considering it as an improvement!). Pros Provides real-time view from registration to attending an event, can be managed agendas and sessions with single click, allows multiple users, even during the event and at the end it can generate reports and gives analytics. The software offers security for online payments. Cons Definitely needs the person loading all the information to take the time necessary for the onboarding process and to learn the templates. It's a good product for event registration. Cons It seems there are almost daily issues that shut down the software intermittently. It's important that the software bugs happen less frequently. So sometimes you may not be able to fully utilize what Cvent has to offer due to budgetary constraints. This software is helping us encompass and realize these improvements. Pros The Cvent software really is a one-stop-shop software. Whatever your event, Cvent will most likely work. Cons This software is a beast to learn. Give yourself plenty of time to do it (12 weeks before event minimum). Also, make sure you are upfront with your event needs and your salesperson is upfront with the many a-la-carte costs that are associated with more premium features. Pros It is officiant, I have control of look, feel or the website to meeting my design needs. I have control of reporting through customization. Cons The session reports lack the organization. The reports for the sessions need to be relooked at as I have trouble with sessions with the same name but different dates and times (The report does not identify this).
