### "Do NOT fall for the salesman reroutine"

We have had a horrible experience with Cvent. Our industry is in crisis mode due to the pandemic and they will not work us at all. We came up with completly reasonable solution that anyone would agree works for both companies, but their solution is only if you sign for a longer term. Why would we sign on for a longer term when the software is not up to par? It's all about them making their money and making sure they stay in business. They are a not a team or a partnership. It's all about their bottom line and they don't care about their clients that they destroy in their path to make that $. Buyer beware. I think they are scrubbing the negative reviews to keep a high number of stars to dupe potential clients.

Pros

After many work arounds you can make this software work. Does it do everything they promise and seamless like they promised, no. We didn't pay tons of money (triple our other vendor offering the same thing) to have to do workarounds and have to still purchase additional better software to get the job done. So much for being the "leader in the industry".

Cons

There are too many things to count. Simple things that you would think would be obvious are not options. This was supposed to be a partenrship not a battle. We have a LONG list of things they promised that they could not deliver. Promised features that are a year away from development, with no mention it's years away. Once you sign the dotted line the restrictions soon follow. Do NOT sign with them.

Pros

Cvent Event management is constantly evolving with their customers at the forefront of their changes and always keeping customer needs on their mind. The customer support is amazing. There are client service specialists on-all 24/7 and they even have an option for chatting in the Support Center if you aren't able to speak over the phone. I also love the fact that the technologies are constantly changing and staying up-to-date.

Cons

I dislike the shift in focus and functionality of the new Flex event builder in comparison to Classic Events because it is less focused on advanced features and capabilities, which my team depends on, and is more focused on design and ease of use for ALL customers.

The experience has been very smooth, easy to use the platform, and excellent support from their side. I love their platform and will continue to use it in the future as well.

Pros

I like the best that it has been around for years, and thus can be trusted with its features and event management. It supports all types of events, like online webinars, in-person events, hybrid, etc. Their platform is very easy to use and helps us customize our event based on our requirements like product kick-off, financial webinars, or tech conferences. You name it, and they support it. I love using their platform.

Cons

They can work on providing regular updates with respect to new features or bugs. As a committed user, I personally want to watch what feature are they working on next, so that I know if it is worth sticking around with them or not.

Pros

I love that Cvent has robust reporting, we are able to run reports for travel agents and for our client needs. There are plenty of options with already built templates but you can customize each report for a particular need.

Cons

I wish there was a planner field on more of the reports as an option. When having multiple planners using our Cvent account it would be nice to select the planner field on reports and know who the planner was for a particular event.

### "Could be more intuitive, but excellent customer service!"

That being said, the experience has, overall, been a positive one. Having taken over the Cvent duties in our building after years of it being shuffled around to whoever had some time to spare, I've been pleased with the improvements the Cvent system has allowed us to make to new and existing events -- making them much sleeker and straightforward from the attendee's perspective. While I don't use Flex a ton yet due to limitations of not-yet-released features, I think it has great potential to become that intuitive/user-friendly platform I'd like to see it become, especially if Cvent continues doing what it does well -- listening and responding to its customer base.

Pros

For the most part, Cvent Event Management can do what you need for most events. Cvent's customer service is the true star -- they are very responsive and provide clear, concise answers on every support request.

Cons

It could definitely be more intuitive/user-friendly. There's quite a lot of, "in order to make this one thing work, you have to go here, here, and here, check that box, select this dropdown..." There is \*usually\* a way to make Cvent do what you need it to; sometimes, it just takes a bit of hoop-jumping to get there.

### "Cvent Has Many Pros and Some Cons"

I use Cvent daily! Regardless of the meeting size (10 attendees vs 100), Cvent is crucial for my industry. It allows me to do everything from blast out invites, to submit air requests.

Pros

Cvent really is the one stop shop for event management. It allows you to do virtually everything in terms of planning a meeting or event, inviting attendees, registration, booking hotel and flights, etc. It is an essential tool for any event professional!

Cons

The new Cvent Flex is not very user-friendly, because it is so incredibly different from the original Cvent. Invitees have been having a really difficult time adjusting to the new layout and registration process, as certain features has been moved or removed completely. I do however like the updated look of the event websites.

Pros

I like that I can send invites to all my attendees at once, but can divide them into different registration paths depending on what info needs to be provided to a particular group. I do have some challenges occasionally trying to figure out how to make something work while building a website, which is the reason for the 4 stars for the Ease of Use

Cons

Customer service. When I call the help line it sometimes takes several times to explain what issue I'm having because the rep doesn't seem to understand what I'm trying to do. I think that these are new representatives and aren't as experienced. Also when I use the chat box I'm not always sure someone is still there because of the delay in their responding to questions.

### "Poor customer service and questionable sales techniques"

Poor communications with management, no intentions to resolve customer concerns or address complaints. You are only assigned entry level account managers and a customer service number hat will tell you to watch a video. I rarely post about other companies, but feel that this company has the worst event platform and highest cost I have seen in the conference industry in the past 10 years. The SALES managers are only trying to get a commission and do not try to do the right thing for their customers. Very disappointing.

Pros

Ease of use on smartphone, ability to refund attendees with a simple click. Reports and tracking post event were useful

Cons

The sales team will upsell you into products and services you do not use or will never use- and automatically renew the contract. Ecommerce terms change in the middle of a contract, subjecting all of your funds from registration to be ON HOLD for up to a year. Essentially your business may have no working capital, The customer service and training is slow to respond and tedious to implement. No way out of a contract you do not want to continue. Once you sign a contract, you are stuck with a company that did not disclose the true costs of doing business with them.

We have truly enjoyed using Cvent as our primary registration management tool for our Regional events and annual conferences. Reporting and communication tools have allowed us to interact with participants in new ways while further allowing us to respond to shifting trends or needs across our global events.

Pros

\- We love the supplier network and ease of sending/receiving RFPs and responses. - Excellent reporting features for data management - On-site badge printing and check-in removes the fear of rushes and the need for temporary registration staff.

Cons

\- Over customization for our builds has made integration with other softwares more difficult - Limited to 10 participants per group for group registration - Difficult to format emails/websites if you have no experience in Html/CSS

I like that I can easily manage the registrants, see all of their important information and run reports.

Cons

I don't like how complex the back in is when you are trying to change something later on. I wish it was more like Wix or similar software where you can see exactly what you are changing in real time.

### "Two years with Cvent"

Cvent has the widest-reaching integration options in the industry. There is no other event management with the same universal recognizability. Our clients are very comfortable with us using Cvent because they are familiar with the software, having seen it everywhere.

Pros

Cvent is constantly re-evaluating what is of the most value to planners, attendees, and event stakeholders, and creating/updating their products accordingly.

Cons

The software is not intuitive to use, and there is a strong learning curve for new users. We do need to allocate resources towards training when new team members start learning Cvent. Once you are used to it, it comes a bit easier, but I would not say that ease-of-use is their strongest point. I do know they are working to change this.

Love the ease of hotel sourcing, allows for quick reviews of properties and easy access to send multiple bids at once. Presents a nice grid to show to clients of all the bids you receive.

Cons

One con would be it's very overwhelming at first but they do offer a huge supply of training videos, articles and customer support.

The many available tools on Cvent improved event organization, and publication, and increased the number of interested parties significantly.

Pros

Cvent simplifies event organization (including virtual reality events) with all necessary procedures in one place. Its invitation design options and ease of sending invites via email and other mediums are appreciated. Links can be included to simplify registration and payment processes, with automation efficiently handling registration requests and confirmation notifications. Social media posting is easy, and important data on recipient interaction and feedback are provided in organized dashboards.

Cons

Despite difficulties encountered in setting up contact lists and sending notices of postponement or cancellation, support instructions helped overcome them.

I inherited our Cvent account when I began at my job nearly 7 years ago and couldn't be more pleased with how much our partnership with them has grown. Through the years they continue to be searching for how to be better, more innovative, always on the look out for the next new thing; all while continuing to keep the focus of the customer top of mind. I am part of the Cvent Advocates program, spoke at the past 3 annual events, presented on dozens of webinars and fostered real friendships with the employees. Cvent feels like an extension of my team, rather than a product or service that we use. I couldn't imagine using a different partner, every so often we have done our due diligence and nothing holds a candle to what Cvent has to offer. If you are willing to put in a little bit of effort, Cvent and its team will match you tenfold and do everything in their power to help make you and your event a success. Thank you, Cvent, for making my job easier.

Pros

It continues to evolve, they don't just make an update and leave it sit for the next big update. Continuous evolution of the product makes it extremely user friendly and offer solutions to issues you didn't even know could be fixed.

Cons

There are parts of the software that do not do everything we would like; some customization and functionality. However, I am able to share my feedback directly with the team and more often than not, within a given amount of time they have placed that item on the road map and it's completed.

Easiness of receiving leads, responding to them (happens very rarely), the set-up of the supplier network AND the new integration with the CRM

Cons

Needs to have a few more simple ways for DMO's to use (Lead qualification), etc. - with the integration to CRM I'd like to see a bit more flexibilities

My experience is mostly positive, but the product is expensive and I feel like we are Nickle and dimed to death when trying to add more services to our contract.

Pros

Cvent has almost every feature I could want, although it isn't always intuitive.

Cons

There are some features that existed in the Classic version of Cvent that have gone away and are greatly missed, especially the ability to create 100% custom reports and edit travel requests without clicking through the entire registration form.

It makes most of my event setup, deployment, and roi easier to set up and understand.

Pros

I like the ability to set up most aspects of my event in one program. I like the customization options and that some areas are super reponsive to any little tweak without diving into code.

Cons

HTML is still used in some areas which makes editing hard. There are aspects of the program that are 'locked' until you ask your account representative about the functionality and they unlock them for you or explain where there are hidden.

Pros

The brand name appealed and the supplier searching abilities but overall not a good program for the money. They overcharge and much better competitors out there.

Cons

We used cvent for over 10 years for our events. And each year the costs kept increasing, despite the ease of use and features did not. To clean our email lists was hard to do. The reporting features hard to access and understand. There were no templates to create our emails with. The high costs did not equate to being worth it. We changed to Perfit for our emails. And Cacob for our registration and both we pay a fraction of the cost for a much more attractive looking website, features and easier to use.

Pros

I use it daily since my main job is attendee management for registration and reporting.

Cons

Complicated in some ways, I have heard from other users with more experience on Cvent that the new Flex is more complicated but also more capable. Still learning and excited for the future.

Overall a great event management platform - exporting reports is easy and toggling between multiple events, and being able to integrate with our organization's website presence and branding is huge!

Pros

I appreciate the real-time check in - with percentages of # of people checked in and the post-event reports to streamline post-event segmented communication with those who actually attended and those who registered but didn't attend.

Cons

Wish it would sync with our CRM to help track attendance in our own database, and be able to export based on our database IDs - this would make our processes even smoother and more accurate.
