The suite is enriched with extensive training resources, facilitating seamless deployment of event websites and meeting applications. Cons We recently encountered a significant issue with Cvent. Despite upgrading our services, we were inaccurately charged for onsite equipment and additional items we no longer utilize. Efforts to resolve this through the sales representative have been ongoing for months, with little progress. Upon reviewing past communications, it's evident that the charges contradict the terms discussed during our upgrade. The response from the current sales representative, attributing the error to a predecessor and offering a credit conditional on a three-year renewal, is disappointing and unprofessional. This approach has unfortunately tarnished our long-standing relationship with Cvent. It has really helped us with onsite preparedness. 2. Cloning events or creating templates to re-use and make adjustments that saves time 3. CRM integration options have allowed us to have 360 degree customer view across CRM and Cvent. We have also used SSO to link our existing users account at registration websites. 4. Flex events 5. Ability to integrate with supplier network and survey tools Cons 1.Ways to manage field permissions for users/roles (edit/delete/update) 2.Enforce field validations on account/organization level so that we can maintain data integrity and event planners cannot customize anything and everything at event level 3. 2 way sync through standard integration is not dynamic for custom fields 4. If salesforce has person account enabled, not business account, cvent has no way to accommodate that on contact level during integration. 5. Marketing Manager Financial Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Customer Service Lacking + Overly Complex UI = Stress" April 28, 2020 2.0 If you don't have a full-time event planner with LOTS of UI and web design experience, I wouldn't recommend it at all. CVent was supposed to make conference planning easier. Instead, it took several of us away from our primary roles in order to solve glitches and endure endless wait times with customer support. Pros You can both set up an event, manage invites and create your event website using CVent. Registration questionnaires allow for everything from selecting meals to payment. Cons CVent is not user friendly at all. It takes 12-15 clicks what you should be able to do in 3-4, and the dropdowns don't make sense. It seemed that every month or so we'd have a new rep. It was as if the company had a revolving door. The event website was incredibly difficult to set up compared to Wix, Wordpress or any other site I've used, and the limitations were frustrating. To have a sharp-looking solution, you have to purchase multiple upgrades. After a difficult first year we were told we could clone the event website next year and change certain details and pictures.... and then CVent decided to redo their platform, and not for the better. So we had to start from scratch. You can create an event app to go with your website, but the content didn't copy over. Which means we had to manually enter in all speaker, session and attendee data over twice. It was senseless. Review Source PB Pierre B. Pros I would say this product is pretty easy to use if you have a design eye. You do not need to know how to code websites or anything of that nature. Cons There are a little too many customizable features that it can take some time to build out your event registration. It will take a little trial and error to find which setting affects what. Since you have to purchase a set number of registrations you have to pay more if you go over. As our webinars took off we quickly ate up what we had for registrations, requiring us to purchase more. Outside of that I really do enjoy the level of customization when it comes to event emails and the event website. Pros Email marketing is a very important aspect of our events and I really enjoyed the customization ability within Cvent Events. It is a very user friendly interface and making edits to copy or design can be done quick and easy. Many other softwares have basic email templates and require coding to get things just right, but not with Cvent. Cons The overall stability of the software has been a pain point for us, especially as of late. Entire outages in the middle of us lauching webinars that leave us unable to access the software at all some days. When something does break, customer support isn't always the most helpful. Now, they are implementing FLEX (the new "upgraded" version) to try to compete with others in the industry - they are failing at this. Most features still have not rolled out, two years in. Other companies already have all of these amazing promised features and much, much more. In my opinion, they decided to focus on growing as a company instead of staying a top performer. They invest a lot in sales, not so much in product growth and development or customer service. Pros I like that their annual conference is a lot of fun! Cons Everything we want is always an additional cost - only the bare bones are included. Pricing is the highest in the industry. Customer service reps don't speak English as their primary language. Options are so complex, it's extremely clunky and hard to make function like you intend. There are only a few ugly website templates to choose from. They even charge for additional users. The contacts are difficult to manage. There are no real options for vendor hall maps within the system. You can't view sessions in a grid view (or any alternative views, for that matter), so for a conference with over 100 breakouts, it's horrendous looking. If you want your conference in an app, you'll pay up the wazoo PER EVENT. I could continue all day long with dislikes. Reason for choosing Cvent Event Management Their salesmen are top-notch! They can promise you amazing things. They are passionate about the work, they are upfront about what could or might not work for our case, and they are true partners. Pros Cvent is very easy to explore and use. It offers a great deal of customization and has a plethora of modules to add on that can grow your and your attendees' experience. The customer service is round the clock and everyone is very knowledgeable. The people assigned to your account as well as the custom service folks on the phone are also incredible in helping you work out issues and build on ideas. Cons The cost. In a nonprofit getting the business case for putting more money toward something, even if we could really build something strong and grow our attendees' experiences is hard to convince when the contract costs are still fairly high. Cons The features that are least appealing include lack of use by industry. Other tools such as Google meet and Zoom are more widely used in the eLearning sector. Cons Cvent is very complex which limits adoption. Inevitably, with such a great end to end solution, complexity is expected, but nevertheless this is the unfortunate downside... I use this almost everyday as an administrator, and it is so simple. Easy to add users, edit content, and overall a nice website to have to spend alot of time. Pros I like the option to have Cvent build your event for you and then use it in the future as a template. Cons t can be a bit intimidating if you don't have much computer knowledge. Cons As the platform evolves, there are times when key features that we use not implemented right away. Pros Being able to copy from past events to quickly open registration is a key feature used within our organization Cons Overall Cvent rolls out platforms before they are fully baked and expects users to convert. Recent examples include Flex when the question library is unavailable, a HIGHLY used feature in my organization. Also, new reporting when the data filters are appropriately working. With Cvent, things have become much smoother, as through one platform we can perform all organizational and administrative operations, which I greatly appreciate. Pros I love the fact that Cvent enables us to do a lot of organizing things related to the events we host in one place, where in a few simple steps we can prepare and send invitations to targeted contact lists as well as register attendance. It's great how Cvent's capabilities enable us to shorten processes, as the high-quality automation it provides enables us to do so much more automatically. I really appreciate how Cvent enables us to host teleconferences efficiently, allows us to manage them with great flexibility, and also we were able to collect attendee feedback and send responses. I really appreciate the data that we're able to organize within Cvent logs, as well as the ease of reporting. Cons You only need a few simple training to master its use and get the most out of it, and Cvent's support team will help, as they are very friendly and quick to respond to any inquiries. " August 1, 2018 4.0 Cvent's event management software saves countless man hours and potential marketing costs. Pros Cvent's Event Management solution truly automates your meetings & events marketing, registration and check-in processes. Upload your attendees with from an Excel or CSV file. Create and send save the date, registration open, reminder emails and practically anything else you can think of to effectively market your meetings & events. Check your registration numbers at-a-glance. Run reports to see who registered, who didn't, and even who is possibly thinking about it with the abandoned registrations feature. My favorite tool is OnArrival (event check-in). Put those days behind you of paper tickets, attendee checklists, and long lines & chaos at the registration table. Upon arrival, your attendees check-in on an iPad, or you can scan them with a mobile device, and look cutting edge while doing it!!! Cons I would say that Cvent's Event Management platform, like any other tech platform, has a learning curve a moderate one. Setting up my first event was challenging even with training. To my surprise, setting up my second event was even more challenging. Partly because I challenged myself to create vs. copy (feature) my second event from scratch. Due to the platform's many, and I do mean many, features and functionality, I found it difficult to remember all the steps (menu navigation) to create an event. Undeterred, I contacted Cvent's Customer Support (really Customer Care as they go the mile for you) to help me create my second event. For the second time around, I worked smarter and documented all the steps. I can honestly say, it's been smooth sailing ever since! If I run into a snag or have a question, I contact Customer Support or look to my Cvent Community for help. There are many meetings & events solutions out there, but it's hard to beat one of the first and best to market! Stop searching and give Cvent a try. Review Source SR Susan R. Cons I know that training is offered but “cheat sheets” and short term links to videos for training not offered on demand would be helpful. They really take feedback seriously and work hard to find solutions to your problems. We have a very complex event, and have found solutions to the vast majority of our issues, and where some solutions were a little sticky at first, updated versions and new features have consistently improved functionality. I have found the support team helpful and while our initial representative was not the greatest, I requested a new rep which was processed quickly, and he has been wonderful. Cons There is a bit of a learning curve, but if you require a platform that can handle an event's complexity, I believe this is to be expected. Still, there are a few items that I still don't find intuitive in the interface, but I am confident the release of Cvent Flex will address many of these issues. It was challenging software for people to learn and adopt, and folks were generally not happy with the output - sites looked a bit dated and not modern. Additionally, customer support at cvent wasn't ideal for us either. Pros Cvent is incredibly robust software. It has lots of functionality, but it isn't particularly easy to use. The customization options are endless. Cons Unless you have a person(s) dedicated to fulyl learning the software and being the only one(s) to use it, this software is quite difficult to learn and adapt for the 'everyday' user. As I mentioned, it has tons of functionality and customization options. Cons Some things used to be more customizable in Cvent classic that planners were used to, and those functionalities have gone away with Cvent flex.
