Pros Cvent is one of the renowned and popular cloud based event management tool. Being a hotelier this product is widely used in the hospitality industry and has all the features that you can expect from an event management software. Pros I love the drag and drop features in FLEX allowing us to fully design, customize and brand the websites the way we need to for each event. The data and analytics you can pull from reports, and linking to Google Analytics (which we are just starting) is critical as we can see the entire attendee experience across events, within our different departments. Cons The assistance through the Help Desk is inconsistent. It really depends on who is helping you as to if/how your issues/questions can be resolved. With cvent we are able to host tens of events each week and reach a broader audience than ever before! Pros I personally like the ease of setting up events and registration pages, clean data capturing in reporting, and the ability to push those reports to a shared company-wide portal. Cvent also made it easy to switch from real to virtual events and supported global expansion, where we could invite a group to a superbly organized virtual gathering. Pros Cvent is a great tool for planning events of various sizes, including virtual ones. Events are better with Cvent. It forces you to pay attention to the slightest details so your guests have a memorable event. Cvent imports contacts, connects with numerous programs, and allows you to create guest lists with simple operations. You can also create a web page for the event, add payment links to buy tickets and reserve seating for paid events, and Cvent keeps track of all of that for you, so you know who has confirmed attendance and how many seats have been reserved. I also use it to arrange virtual events, sending out invitations and planning the program and themes of discussion. I also like how event logs are recorded and archived on the cloud for easy access. Cons Nothing we can say, Cvent is simple to use for everyone, regardless of their interests or business, and it does its job well. I love working in Cvent and building sites for my customers! Pros There are very few things that Cvent isn't designed to do, or if not, a workaround can't be determined with a little bit of effort. I love that the entire event process is integrated from event sourcing to final metric reporting. The registration platform is powerful, and can encompass multiple admission types, registration types, pricing structures, and registration experiences within one event. The accompanying website is easy to build with their tools and can create an elegant, branded marketing piece. Their new mobile app, while not quite as strong as their previous offering, is better integrated with the registration platform and being updated consistently for improvement. It is a valuable tool and has excellent features. There are times they are trying to add the next best thing without improving on the core elements. Pros Cvent has been around for years and is constantly updating and adding more features. Their customer service line is always helpful, and I like the fact that they send you the articles so you can learn more. Cons I feel that when they add new tools, they aren't always looking to see how that new improvement may affect other areas. They have been very easy to work with and flexible throughout the whole process. Pros I really like the customization of the Cvent registration process. It allows us to keep our branding and message forefront while also making the registration process more seamless for attendees. Cons While the variety and customization of Cvent is great, the amount of customization can make the first couple of events tedious and time-consuming to set up because you have to ensure all of your settings are "just right". Once the first few events are created, the "copy event" feature makes the next round of events considerably easier. July 27, 2023 5.0 Pros I love Cvent and can't say enough good things about it. We present live, virtual, and hybrid events using the Attendee Hub. We use it to market and promote events, collect attendee registration, speaker and vendor documentation, video streaming, and on-demand catalogue. In addition, we are able to generate easy and professional reports to share with staff and stakeholders. Attendees have reported very positive experiences and our events look very professional. It has also helped with planner efficiency. Cons There is not much that I don't like, but there is a bit of a training curve that has at times been a barrier for new users. Coming from a veteran Cvent user, they have progressively looked for new ways to dazzle a user's audience - drawing in the crowds with dynamic and crowd friendly responsive sites. Pros We've been with Cvent since almost the inception. It's grown tremendously in such a short period of time. The Cvent Connect Conferences are stellar and informative. Never a dull moment I must say. The software is top notch and adds a professional splash to anyone's portfolio. Customer Service is right on point! Cons Although I do feel pricing is on the higher end - it is understandable considering the level of technology. Only thing I would say would be my least favorite aspect is the flexibility of adjusting Flex creations to adhere to our more complicated events. Cons Some of the registration type setups take a little time to set up - requires some pre-planning on the event manager's part. I have been using Cvent for 10+ years and have transitioned from Cvent "Classic" to Cvent "Blue" and the improvements are so helpful and efficient! Cons Submitting payments for groups of registrants, post-registration, is a difficulty we continue to run into. As a healthcare system, mainly providing educational events for our medical staff - many folks register for an event at separate times as their team-mates, but when it comes time to pay the fees on a corporate card - it is a pain not being able to select multiple registrants to bundle into one payment process. The ability to save events as templates so you do not need to reinvent the wheel (and so you can keep sites consistent) is invaluable. Pros The system is very robust and offers just about any capability you may want. Similar products often have limitations to what they offer so they come with a lower price tag. If you need a robust system with the capability to customize reports and data, the higher price tag is worth the cost and will save you time and stress as a result. Customer service is easy to get in touch with and work with any issue you may have. They're also quite receptive to feedback regarding functionality. Cons It can feel a bit daunting at first because there are so many items to learn. We enjoy using the on arrival software for checking attendees into events, which speeds up the entire process and provides realtime data on how attendance is going throughout the arrival period.Setting up event and registration pages is easy, interactive and the front end always looks great and provides an overall easy experience for our registerting attendees. Cons Sometimes the simple functionality is made overly complex in cvent to actually deliver. But when it is, it works great.Their badge printing needs to be easier to facilitate. The days of manually updating/manipulating spreadsheets are long gone and it can all be done simultaneously in Cvent. It has saved our team hundreds of hours of work. Cons One of the things I like least about Cvent is their pricing structure. There are so many features that our team would love to implement to take our events to the next level (Passkey, OnArrival, etc.) but we often struggle with convincing the budget keepers the cost is worth it. For instance, our team is completely on board with OnArrival, but stakeholders question the thousands of dollars it will cost when we can continue to pre-print tags before the event. All my requests are tracked, attended to, followed up with. They are very attentive, helpful, knowledgable, and extremely polilte. Pros DMA’s issues before Cvent were: not knowing where to search for venues, taking so much time to gather and distribute information, no ability to break out registration types or have sessions, no way to link to our CRM. Everything was manually created and manually managed which was very analog, time consuming and disorganized. This became an increasing problem as we went from 10 events a year to 40 with only one person managing everything. Now with Cvent we can handle all of our event needs within one platform. From the start of the event request from our stakeholders using the event request form, venue sourcing, event website, event emails, event attendance check-in/tracking, virtual platform integration, evaluations and CRM integration. It now has an access portal so non-user stakeholders can access important event information. Cons This software is not cheap. However, cheap things are not good and good things are not cheap. Cvent is always trying to enhance the platform. Unfortunately, some enhancements take time to build. Reason for choosing Cvent Event Management We felt that this software platform would meet all of our event/webinar/roundtable/meeting needs, which it does. Cons Oftentimes, I have trouble with the minor details, like making sure I click the sync to HubSpot button when launching an event or remembering where I need to go to update the calendar description when someone clicks the 'add to calendar' button. Pros Cvent Event Management is essential in the success of an event - especially attendee management. Managing your attendees starts with pre-communications and goes to post event communications. From save the dates to registering their data and using it for surveys. It not only becomes valuable for an event planner, but for an attendee. It is what they see on their journey to a great event and when they head back home. Cons The only thing that I am still struggling with is some of the classic features that are no longer available in the FLEX update. Pros I like CVent, it has a lot of features available that helped us develop nice events, even though I don't think the set up is easy and intuitive. The support is helpful in a general way, but it does make the event development a little slower than it could be. There is only one other software out there that is as feature rich but that one is not user-friendly/intuitive. Cvent had all except one feature we needed. Their customer support and customer service is far and away the best I've ever experienced. The salesperson and his process also left all others in the dust. We looked at nine companies. Cons It needs an interactive exhibitor module. Exhibitors should be able to review the floor plan and see reserved and available spaces and reserve their space during registration. The "invitation list" process creates some limitations on how we want to send emails - we must upload people as contacts. We also are unable to change the event site template without paying for a new event build. I would also like to be able to simultaneously register speakers while adding them to the speaker module. Overall, the software is slightly complicated but far less complicated than the other platform out there that is as feature rich. Also, Cvent's customer support makes up for it. Reason for choosing Cvent Event Management Had the most features for the price and best salesperson and process. It is easy to use and to keep track of lists. Registration is a breeze once set up and it is very easy to collect data and payment. The customer service is great and they are very helpful and responsive. Pros Cvent is a great tool when you have lots of small events that need different lists to manage. It makes creating new events from a template very easy and painless. The user interface is very clean and they continually update it to make it better. The reporting features are robust and very easy to use. The customer service are is very responsive and they are very thorough about their follow up. Cons I would love easier features when it comes to customizing the event pages. Something like the Squarespace editor for the actual event sites would make it much easier to see what we are creating instead of relying heavily on HTML skills.
