Management Technician II Law Enforcement Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "An Effective, Reliable ERP Choice - Works for Public Safety" July 2, 2025 4.0 Unit4 ERP allowed me to do my job efficiently. The ease at which data can be pulled and from it is something I miss very much since we have transitioned to a different program. From my understanding, my workplace purchased a fairly low-level package, but we were able to operate well with it. I can only imagine how much that would have improved had we increased our package rather than switching to a still-developing ERP that is ultimately struggling to keep up with our public sector/public safety needs. After switching, I can confirm that not every ERP is built to work with/for public safety, but Unit4ERP definitely did. Pros Quite simply, Unit4 ERP gets the job done. We have since switched ERPs, and there is not a day that goes by where regret is not collectively expressed over the switch. Unit4 ERP easily meets HR management and finance needs -- and pulling data out of the program is done with ease, with customizable reports and CSV downloads of raw data at the ready. Cons Sometimes prompting HR tasks ("personnel actions") had a notable lag. Payroll also had some quirks, such as entries yielding error messages where there was definitely no error -- though I suspect that had to do more so with the buildout occurring years ago, with no update from our internal team as accounting coding changed. It makes claiming expenses painful. Some of my colleagues think its intentional... I dont know if its intentional but it is certainly frustrating. Pros From an infrequent user perspective, I dont like anything about it. Cons Its not user friendly. I guess that it has a lot of functionality that might be useful from a reporting point of view, but for me it is really frustrating to use. I use it to claim expenses once overy few months and every time I have to figure out how to do it. It defaults to the wrong cost codes without making it aparant, it isnt clear what is and isnt mandetory, it isnt easy to review claims. Finance officer Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "powerful and comprehensive ERP " August 13, 2023 5.0 My overall experience with UNIT 4 ERP that its an excellent choice if you are looking for comprehensive software with wide range features Pros I like most about Unit4 ERP is that it has a user-friendly interface, it’s easy to work on it even if you don’t have prior experience in ERP software’s.Likewise, it’s tailored to our organization needs where we in Finance department enter invoices, extract purchase orders, and generate detailed reports, Also the posting mechanism have multi layers for approval depending on our organization authorization table . Additionally, it connects multi departments into one platform like finance, HR & logistics, which makes our work easier and more reliable. Cons The system get slow and unresponsive sometimes, especially during updates. More times than not, you can tailor the software to meet your business process, rather than changing your processes to match the software. Business World has a wide array of modules including core financials, payroll, hr and more. Since first purchasing Business World in 2005, the product has been able to grow with us and we have purchased many additional modules to fit our needs. Cons Because the software is so customizable, we run into issues when performing upgrades as we're not always running things in "default" mode. Pros Very configurable solution which can easily match most business processes and requirements. Easy and intuitive to use for many end users. Reporting is easy and straight forward. Cloud upgrades are much easier and cheaper than on premise solutions compared to many other ERP software solutions. Cons Some functionality is only available in a 'fat" client and not in a web browser. Review Source Trude H. Would recommend highly to a mid-size or larger organization. Pros Powerful inquiry options both instant and report-based; flexible setup able to capture multiple unique attributes needed for our reporting; importing and exporting to/from excel very straightforward. Cons Could be more flexible from a display standpoint (changing display size/colors). Only a few other clients in the University Foundation field so few peers to network with. November 22, 2019 1.0 Pros Absolutely nothing, using Agresso is a complete nightmare and wastes my time whenever I have to use it. Cons Glitches, grinds to a halt and gives error messages when using via Chrome - colleagues tell me it's slightly better with IE. The welcome screen retains an old password instead of updating it so you always have to put the new password in once you've changed it. Completely counter-intuitive; one small but representative example is that you have to hit the "search" button instead of the return key to search. Weird, meaningless terminology in error messages; eg Costc: Direct relation-connection not retrievable since parent field dim\_2 is not filled in! Value for field dim\_1 is fixed. Project: Direct relation-connection not retrievable since parent field dim\_4 is not filled in! Value for field dim\_2 is fixed Impossible to find eg. requisitions for PO numbers that you've made previously. Impossible to find a way to get a list of outstanding requisitions or PO numbers. We process our own payroll internally. We are one of the largest professional services staffing companies in the United States. Agresso is a truly modern ERP package, because it's based upon modern object-oriented code, not based upon COBOL, like most other mid-market offerings. Agresso can be hosted in the cloud or run on premise, but most important, Agresso can be extended and customized unlike purely cloud based solutions, which do not offer customization features, since all customers run on the same cloud version (that makes upgrades easy, but you cannot handle complex situations with one-size-fits all solutions). With Agresso, you can add user-defined objects, not merely user-defined fields using the Agresso Flexi-Field Groups feature. This is the most elegant ERP design in the world today. Cons The only downside with Agresso is that it is just starting to catch on in the United States, so even though it is the number 1 mid-market ERP in the U.K. and other parts of Europe, there are not yet that many consultants working with it here. That's unfortunate, since it's such a great software for large people centered organizations, like not-for-profit, professional services, education, etc. I believe that Agresso will continue to rapidly expand its customer base in the United States over the next decade. Pros We chose Business World because it enables us to modify the system quickly and easily as needed to meet our changing needs. It has improved our overall accountability with accurate budgeting, simply by enabling staff to access the information they need when they need it. It also gives us the flexibility we need to meet our unique needs. Cons For new hires, Business World comes with a learning curve but the Unit4 support team is always there to help us. There is hardly anything one can like. Cons Using the software is extremely complex. For example, the drop-down menu will never indicate, what to select or how to find the keywords, the page would collapse in the middle of work and one loose everything, no recovery, no automatic saving, the errors reporting will not give you clue what can be wrong, and if something is wrong one cannot save the page and again, everything is lost. I think it is worth a look especially for smaller organizations. I think the price point is good and will work for a company that doesn't have a lot of exceptions. Cons I don't think the product was ready for bigger companies. It didn't seem like it could make many adjustments without modifications.
