It’s reliable, simple, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do without trying to be fancy. I never worry about it failing when I need a code, which is huge for something tied to account security. Still, I sometimes wish it had a few more convenience features, especially when switching phones. Even with that, it’s a dependable tool that keeps things straightforward and stress‑free. Pros Google Authenticator is super quick, simple, and honestly just gets out of your way. It loads fast, the codes pop right up, and it works with pretty much every site that supports two‑factor authentication. I like that it doesn’t need Wi‑Fi or data to generate codes, so it works anywhere without stressing you out. The clean layout also makes it easy to find what you need without digging through menus or extra features you’ll never use. Cons The biggest headache is moving everything to a new phone. For a long time, there was no backup at all, so losing your phone meant a full‑on panic. Even now, the export process feels a little clunky and not as smooth as other apps. If you forget to transfer your codes, you can get locked out of accounts fast. It also doesn’t have things like multi‑device sync or a built‑in lock, which would make it feel more modern. From using it as a student to using it on my workplace, it has saved me a lot of time many times when I have to log into microsoft products. Pros It is a very fast way to log into the softwares that are connected to this app. Sometimes when you open the app, it automatically sends the signal to your laptop that you just authenticated. Cons It is a bit tricky to use at first when you want to connect any other account to your google authenticator. I also like that a simple progress circle displays next to all of the logins you have saved in the app so you can clearly see how much time you have until the currently displayed set of codes resets. Artista Textil Design Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Muy buen software para proteger tus cuentas" September 18, 2023 5.0 Mi experiencia ha sido muy buena, lo único malo es que hace unos meses no sabía que tenía que tenía que transferir la cuenta antes de eliminar el software de mi teléfono, y perdí el acceso a todas las cuentas que tenía registradas, tuve que ir a servicio al cliente o la ayuda de cada una de esas cuentas para restaurar, porque no hay otra forma. Entiendo que es por seguridad, pero fue bastante engorroso el proceso. Deberían habilitar otra forma de recuperar la cuenta. Pros Me gusta mucho su simpleza, es muy fácil de usar, es sencillo agregar cuentas. Permite la opción de agregar cuentas con códigos qr, ,lo que hace el proceso mucho más rápido. Hay muchos softwares y páginas que usan este software, la pantalla tiene modo oscuro y es fácil transferir cuentas. Cons Lo que menos me gusta es que, si por mala suerte, pierdes el acceso al software y no transferiste la cuenta antes, vas a perder el acceso ya que no hay manera de recuperarlo. Cons L'inconveniente principale e più importante (grave oserei dire) sta nel fatto che se si perde l'accesso all'applicazione (formattazione dello smartphone, malfunzionamento smartphone, disinstallazione app) si perdono tutte le chiavi di accesso che abbiamo in Google Authenticator senza la possibilità di poterle recuperare, se non rifare la procedura di autenticazione a due fattori di tutti i servizi salvati in Google Authenticator. Pros The best thing about Google Authenticator is that it’s easy to set up and use. Even when I suggest it to my not-so-tech-savvy clients, they are able to set it up and use it. Pros I really like how google helps me secure my accounts with the 2 step verification process, I rarely worry about getting hacked nowadays all thanks to this software. Cons It's a great app but I feel it can be improved with the ability to scan QR codes in-app. What I mean is, usually you have to scan your code with your camera from another device, it's an headache when you don't have two devices with you, but if it can be improved to scan screenshot images with QR codes even in the app, it would be fantastic.
