August 15, 2025 5.0 Luckily, we could see what the bidders won and allowed them to pay by cash, venmo or check to avoid fees. Pros This was the easiest and most efficient silent auction ever - it allowed folks - no matter where they were or what the were doing - stay in the game of bidding. even folks who didn't attend the event were invited to bid - this increased bidding exponentially meaning more money was raised. Cons I hate that there was a service fee (quite high) for credit card payments. Luckily, we found a work around by letting those present pay in person. Review Source GI Gina I. The time and energy saved justified the cost of the service. Pros Ease of set-up for uploading items and organization for the silent auction. User registration was also very smooth; we did not receive any complaints or have issues with attendees signing up and making bids. It handled the volume of bids throughout the night without any glitches or set-backs. Cons The fees associated with the service but we understand this is industry-standard. Just something to consider for smaller non-profits but we appreciated the stress WinningBidder took away in terms of the technical side of the auction; it allowed us to focus more on the event and guests. They need to make it easier to set up the account. Pros Easy to place bids. Easy to add or subtract items. Cons Very difficult to set up the account. I was originally told that the account was set up and I had starting the LIVE AUCTION only to find that my authorization and account set up had not been approved and was not set up. Had to get my daughter (I am terrible with computers) to straighten everything out. So happy that there is such a platform available for nonprofits. I never knew there was such a thing. Pros It was such an easy program to use. It was wonderful for fundraising and generating revenue for our nonprofit. Cons Wish there were more lower cost trips and experiences available. It was extremely easy for me to create all the items, manage the shipping, and deal with the purchases and payments after the event. If we were to ever get more serious or have more regular auctions, I would hope for some more bells and whistles, but that's not what I needed this time, and winningbidder.com was the perfect solution. Pros The platform is very straightforward and extremely easy to use. Also, the fee structure is unbeatable! Cons There are very limited customization/branding options. I also wish you could set different end times for the items, which would help drive sales up. Cons As a small 501c3 we thought the expenses from using the site were a little drastic, especially with the percentage taken out for any of the TravelPledge items we sold. October 15, 2024 5.0 The ease of setting up the auction was great. The printing poster feature could be changed a little bit - we had to re-create our own posters to include a QR code so that bidders could bid in person. The online auction platform was very user-friendly and easy to navigate. I enjoyed that I could pay directly through the emailed link (after winning) and it's nice that they offer for the winning bidder to pay the credit card fee. We're a non-profit so having the bidders pay their own fees is ideal! We really enjoyed that you could mark multiple winners for some of the items. Overall, I would say that we enjoyed this platform better than who we used last year (accelevents) and we will most likely be using this platform for next year's auction! Pros User-friendly platform. Easy directions...simple format Cons Some people who were bidding liked to see the names of people who they were bidding against; some people did not want to see the names. I enjoyed the fact that it sent me a simple message letting me know that I was outbid. The printing poster feature was a little off - we had to re-create our own posters - the image was cropped funny on some of the posters. The first log-in took you to a donation page and I would have preferred it took you to the auction. It is a price to performance champ! It has everything you need and nothing you don't. Sure, there could be more bells and whistles, however, in the end, I would opt for the simplicity, intuitiveness, and cost of the WinningBidder platform. Pros The platform was straightforward and easy to use. The item setup was intuitive as was the reporting. For our use, it had all the basic features that we required for our 20+ item online auction. Their partnership with TravelPledge was a bonus and added a level of excitement and helped round out our offerings. Cons The formatting of items and website look, and feel was limited and bare bones. There is no ability to add video or hyperlinks to sponsor websites. It would be nice to have a bit more options and/or ways to see trending or hot items, to draw more attention/bidding. Pros Using TravelPledge as our auction host was a huge improvement from years past. It was much easier to use than our other host site. Customer service was wonderful. I didn't ask for help but they reached out to with suggestions that were very helpful and thoughtful. Creating an auction item was very easy and fast. Cons I wanted to include hyperlinks to golf course facility websites and donor websites. I also wanted to add videos to item pages.
