overall the experience is a positive one - this is in part to a strong relationship with a third party consultant who is able to troubleshoot issues for us

Pros

it works very well as a venue management tool, taking the team from initial sale of space through to the event logistics and to settlement.

Cons

the CRM component is difficult to work with, coming from a Salesforce experience it does not have the lead and relationship management capabilities that I am use to and so we have had to change our processes to accommodate for using just one software platform

Onboarding was intense training, but it was worthwhile. Their customer success team is genuinely caring and able to attend to issues or concerns that come up, as well as able to offer and showcase other ways of using the software and its modules to fill needs as we present them. That is probably the most beneficial aspect aside from App Admin training, as having subject matter experts not only available but actively in touch to ensure that we get the most out of our Momentus experience is indispensable.

Pros

Momentus is a powerful tool for our organization that allowed us to streamline event management in the ways we were hoping for when we first looked to it as a solution for sunsetting a different software due to its age. Momentus offered not only replacements for the tasks that we already conducted via our event management software but also new and innovative workflows that allowed us to better align our business to the analytics that their reporting made easy to understand. The customer support during onboarding and since then has been excellent, with knowledgable staff as well as updates that created meaningful benefits to our users, alongside plenty of advance notice and ability to prepare for those updates.

Cons

We like to call Momentus a beast, not because it is difficult or particularly hard to work with but because it is complex and requires training beyond what we had internally required before. We've learned with time to better align our expectations so that when we onboard new staff, they understand what we learned with hours and hours of use. That Momentus becomes easier and more intuitive the more familiar you are with your role and it's ability to help you do that role. It is a behemoth with incredible amounts of information and abilities, which we have created over years of customization and data collection. This software requires effort because that's how you get the best results specific to your needs from that vast array of things it can do.

### "Not as good as it used to be but is probably the best option out there"

Used to be great when the cons weren't an issue. Still works well for booking but I think the other items need to be addressed before I can give it higher than a 3 star rating.

Pros

It's intuitive, very user friendly, overall, it's a solid platform for booking and tracking events. If it wasn't for the cons (see below), it would be a 5 star platform.

Cons

A recent update made it so the headers on the contracts do not scroll with the contract meaning that any formatting requires you to highlight the text and then scroll back to the top to make the changes. Really a pain when you have multiple edits to make. I don't think having to request that as a new feature to put it back to how it was is not ideal. Hopefully enough clients have requested it to make it a priority to change it back. Also not a fan of having to have the WeTrack Risk on the front page if you're NOT using that service (which you requires payment for a subscription) as it was nice to see the contracting info on the overview tab and more convenient as well. It makes it feel like you're being forced to subscribe to a service that you don't want. Also, support used to be better. Having to go through the bot is time consuming when you've either exhausted the available help documentation and/or have something out of the norm that needs addressing. Fortunately, one of the support desk folks gave me an email to use to bypass all that as he is aware that I will only reach out if I cannot find anything to assist me with the issue OR it's something that needs to be done on the back end.

Cons

Sometimes the mobile app crashes unexpectedly during important meetings, which interrupts workflow and causes delays. Additionally, the customer support response time can be slower than expected, especially during peak hours.

The experience has been fantastic. It has significantly improved our teams workflow and the overall lifecycle of our events. We've brought was used to be manually or offline processes into a more comprehensive pattern of inquiry to booking to contracting to advance and settlement.

Pros

They have a strong customer service model, exceptional ongoing maintenance & support, and the product allows for signficiant integration with other platforms and software pieces.

Cons

There was an extremely labor intensive onboarding and system buildout process. Though the Momentus team supported us throughout, it was far more time consuming and laborious than anticpated.

It's been pretty pleasant. I wish I would have known more about what my organization wanted when we did the group implementation. It's been hit or miss on the time it takes support to get back to me.

Pros

I love the calendar, all the customizable features from the colors to what information you want to present and the view. I love the integration features as well - being able to have the inquiry form appear in the system is life changing and time saving.

Cons

I wish it had a feature to schedule staffing within it so we didn't have to use another website for that.

### "Beneficial Platform for Events!"

Its been a benefit to my workflow. Having an event platform that can easily book and track data is really helpful for organization and providing insight our clients need in terms of data.

Pros

The customized features to our accounts has made the platform much easier to use as well as the guidance from Momentus whenever bugs are encountered.

Cons

Having to switch to the new UI after years of alignment and making training materials was unfortunate. There are still some bugs in the system that have made it difficult to use.

### "Sales Manager view on Momentous"

I have been using it for 10 years and have switched to the new version 2 weeks ago. As a sales manager, I use it to reserve dates on our convention center calendar and track the entire sales process as well as all pertinent details. I also use it as a CRM.

Pros

It provides a trustworthy application that gathers and stores all information needed by the several different departments in our organization.

Cons

Because of its customizability, it lacks help resources for our company's usage. I wish the set up included creating a help feature customized to our usage.

There's the technology side and then the business management side and there's been challenges on both fronts, especially with my company. Pricing for the software has always been difficult to nail down. Beside the total dollar amount, it's always been a bit convoluted as to how you get to the final price. I say run that proposal/invoice through your Marketing Department to see what they think about it!

Pros

Am I commenting on the company or a specific piece of software? Maybe I'll touch on both. I'm a fan of the software they make! I can tell that new ownership and leadership is thinking more strategically and long term. Some recent changes have been challenging; however, I like the direction they're going and it's obvious you're investing in the future. I like how customizable Momentus Enterprise is. We've taken advantage of that more than most venues I think. We worked hard to push all financial information though the system which helps us from an event management and event analysis side of things. I the ESC product a lot. Such a big improvement over the old SOP. Lastly, I really like my customer support rep! She helps us a lot and she's always very responsive.

Cons

Formal tech support through the Support Center is hit or miss. Sometimes it's a homerun and very helpful; however, it appears the support team is overwhelmed based on their response time. I've heard this is not the case for the Momentus Elite platform. Equal to or greater than support is the installation and onboarding of new modules and/or updates to the software. We do not look forward to the four incremental upgrades each year like we used to. It seems there's always an issue that creates problems for the end users & local admins. We've been uniquely challenged with the upgrade to Momentus Pay 2. We are now measuring the repair time on that module in "months". My sense is you've got good people working on it but the technology is so complex and integrated with outside companies that getting to final solutions has been an issue. Onboarding new clients to Momentus is a giant challenge and I advise my counterparts to be cautious because I do think it's one of your weak spots. The learning curve with Momentus Enterprise is very long. Much long than your longest onboarding schedule. Onboarding a new client to Enterprise should be thought of in years because that's how long it takes to really get there. I wish things like Crystal Reports and high level Word Merge Documents could a simplified to a point where local admins could figure that out on their own without the need for special training. Getting Momentus to spit out a great looking client facing document has always been a week spot that requires significant time and funds to commission a "Custom Report". In general, today's technology has put massive capabilities into the hands of the average user and Momentus has certainly achieved that with Views & custom fields but we're not there yet with client facing reports (created by the end user).

I’ve been in the event industry for over 23 years and have worked with USI/Momentus for more than 18 of those. I’ve had been very fortunate to have the opportunity to be part of several iconic venues in Sydney where USI/Momentus has played a key role in delivering thousands of successful events.

Pros

Momentus Enterprise is a highly flexible platform, and we have successfully leveraged its capabilities. When utilised effectively, it can serve as a powerful and versatile tool, truly a jack of all trades.

Cons

It's not the easiest software application to learn. Some users might get put off because how many moving parts there are to configure.

I believe this is a great software to use for event planning. It is easy, but there are several technical issues that should be addressed and situated in order to make things easier.

Pros

Momentus Technology allows data insights, event management improvements, and customer service that is hands on and very helpful.

I have really had a great experience. For me, I was lucky early in my experience to have some time to really explore and understand the system. Which has made it a great resource for me, and made the training process for me easy to pass on to others.

Pros

The functions and availability of everything that the system can do. It really does have everything.

Cons

Sometimes understanding and getting to a point where an average user can fully use the system is difficult. Because it can do so much it sometimes takes a great deal of training and self-exploration to really get a high grasp on the system. Would be nice if it was more user-friendly from the start.

I did not make the choice personally, but I am happy when I come into a facility and it is the system they use.

My overall experience with Ungerboeck has been great! They are always so great to work with and helpful in realizing new projects and ideas that we may have for our institution. They draw upon expertise across different fields and really strive to enhance the user experience. They truly listen to what their customers want for a product.

Pros

I love how the software allows you the flexibility to tailor your process and workflows in the system to best fit your needs. It is easy to create steps, fields etc. that are needed to accomplish your company goals and improve efficiency across all levels within an organization including sales and marketing, booking and reservations, contracting, reconciling, budgeting, and forecasting.

Cons

What I least like about the software is doing the upgrades. They are necessary but can sometimes be cumbersome to go back through and double check all the functionality is working properly. The good news, is that you can do all of this through the test environment prior to upgrading your production site.

My overall experience with Ungerboeck has been excellent; after using the system for a few years now I cannot imagine working without it. It really has changed how we work (for the better) and even our clients notice a difference with how much faster and easier things are for them as well.

Pros

Before Ungerboeck we were using excel to manage our bookings, contracts, and payments etc; changing to Ungerboeck has put all of this into one seamless system that has allowed us to streamline our processes. We are able to better track our clients, payments, contracts, bookings etc and the integration of all this information into one system saves us time on a daily basis. I enjoy the reporting features of Ungerboeck and how they were able to work with us to customize certain reports and processes for my department.

Cons

Getting the program up and running does take a lot of time and learning the system can be cumbersome, especially if you have never worked on software like this before. Being the administrator can feel like another full time job some days, especially when staff are having issues with the system or major changes need to take place.

We were using venue ops like an old faithful car, it drove fine, it did the job but that was it. Recently with more time and some personal training for Events Bookings with our team, we are finally switching venue ops into Ferrari mode! Learning more about its functionalities that were past what we would even think to ask about has led to increased efficiency as a team, better customer service, and next level team communication.

Pros

We love that it keeps all of our information in 1 spot. As a team that balances many internal and external booking sits vital to see how and when our spaces are being used and for those of use who are booking external events, it has been a huge gift to our team to be able to share easy communication about an event, before, during and after; to track clients and their events; and to stop having to search endlessly in paper files for the information we need. It has streamlined our internal systems incredibly!

Cons

The mobile experience still needs improvement. This is often the format we are using during an event or facility tour, and it makes the information harder to access or add to when on the move with a client.

Cons

Aesthetics are slightly droll and bland - but this is a very minor complaint and recognizes that with v30 the aesthetics and layout are significantly improved from as recent as v19! Some limitations and lack of flexibility with customizing and constructing reports make for occasionally confusion report generation.

Used to manage 6 venues and hundreds of events per year - did a great job but definitely need to resource it.

Pros

Very powerful, infinitely customisable. Great calendar management and event scheduling capaibilities.

Cons

Doesn't refresh as you type when searching, UX is outdated but functional. Steep learning curve to master.

### "Ungerboeck, The Gentle BEAST"

Overall experience has been wonderful. The UB Team is aware and understands how intermediating the software can be, so they are with you during the learning process every step of the way. I've always felt supported and feel this will continues as the years go by.

Pros

UB is the ultimate communication tool, that's what's most attractive about this software. With some inputting on your part, it can track, hold and spit out reports with ease, but also with a quick glance inform everyone of everything happening in your space.

Cons

What will take time is learning how to operate UB, specifically as an Admin User. Remembering where to go and where to find certain things might be frustrating at times, especially if you want to know everything quickly. Since UB is a software like no other, you will have nothing to compare it to as reference, to create an ease of use in your mind.

### "Great tool for organizing event information"

VenueOPS has integrated our event information and made it easy to make accessible to all staff. Communication is improved due to information being at everyone's fingertips.

Pros

This software gives you the capability of organizing all event information in one place which is extremely helpful when trying to keep everyone in your building informed and up-to-date.

Cons

Without the ability to have a staff member dedicated to setting up the system for your particular building, it can take awhile for all features to be discovered and utilized. This is an issue that not all buildings will face, but there is quite a bit a back work and training required to get started with this in the beginning. There are still features not being utilized yet.

### "Comprehensive Event Management Platform"

Pros

Having seen the various versions of the product and the change in the way Ungerboeck is developing in the last few years, it's really great to see. The features have been significantly enhanced and it is the most comprehensive product for all Event Management needs. It covers from the CRM to the financials and if you are and Organizer it provides you with the complete functionalities to work with.

Duplication Lack of Workflow for approvals

Software has capability of handling complete Exhibition process from start to end. It is really user friendly and easy to setup.

Cons

Need to be more pro-active to include the most recent changes in the market. Licensing option need to be more flexible
