To top it off it allows users to manage their own servers with tons of flexibility. Pros Clear and crisp audio when in a voice channel with my friends. This is extremely important when we are gaming as we have to hear every instruction clearly. I stream with it too when I am with my friends so it is important that the viewers can hear what everyone is talking about without lag and disruptions. Cons Some options are paid features, so one will have to pay a subscription just to obtain those features. Video quality will be reduced without subscription so that is quite disappointing. Pros Basically, We loved most of the features that discord has on offer, it allows us to communicate with each other without having to physically go to a meeting room or even leave the house, other things like spotify integration really is a welcome feature Cons The one complaint that I have as a user of Discord is that there is still no Apple Music integration into the software, its something that bugs some of our team members as we mostly make use of Apple laptops (Macbook Pro) hence most of us make use of Apple Music, so it would be great if they could integrate Apple music into the software. I've used this platform for many things over the years: be it for vocal chats while gaming or simply to write messages to friends or yet to organize detailed projects with subdivisions in various channels... it's got tons of uses, really! The free package is definitely ok for the majority of things but if you have some bucks to spend on Discord, or are in a community with Nitro users, the channel becomes a beauty. I've spent tons of hours on it during the pandemic and it's been very useful for my projects and for keeping contacts during the last years. It's highly customizable, so it can look a bit tedious in the beginning, especially if you are the creator of a community. Once you've defined everything though, it's really worth the effort. Pros \- Highly organizable by defining categories and channels subdivisions. I've used it for many of my university projects - It's possible to set highly customized roles - Possibility to mute/unmute, kick, ban people, create and modify existing channels, change nicknames on a local channel - Possibility to create threads - Integration with external applications (spotify, steam, codeblocks and many more) - Integration with bots for recurrent actions and for a neater environment in your community - Possibility to create private chats that only some members or specific roles can see - Possibility to share screens from multiple participants at once - Possibility to set the band to allocate for a vocal channel - Highly customizable notifications - Constantly updated and refined Cons \- 8 MB limit for single uploads with the free plan. It is my go to for a friendly chat. Wouldn't swap it out for any other. Pros Discord is very easy to use. The software is intuitive and user friendly. You can control the bit rate in voice channels which makes it easier for people with bad signal to communicate. Discord servers are great for community hangouts or friend hangouts. Many software and games have their own community servers in Discord. Moderation is easier and roles can be assigned to people and the things a person can do can be divided into roles. Discord is great for having a chit chat with others and community engagement but I can't really see it being used in a professional environment. Cons Uploads are limited unless you buy nitro. Nitro, in my opinion is mainly cosmetic, but the upload size limit can be annoying at times. The compression algorithm can definitely be better as the way I've seen it TeamSpeak has audio compression. Review Source Jason C. Pros Discord makes it very easy for me to stay in touch with all my gaming friends and find others to play with whose goals are the same as mine. I can find or create a community that suites me and my play style. I can also stream my favorite games right within Discord. The voice chat quality of Discord is top notch! Cons I currently do not have any dislikes about Discord. The voice quality is always top notch and I never drop calls. Usato per molti anni fino ad oggi, Discord è fin da subito sembrato una piattaforma seria e user oriented. Personalmente ho usufruito della funzione di chat di gruppo con i miei amici/colleghi per condividere i nostri progetti o banalmente tenersi compagnia durante le sessioni di gaming. Fondamentale ai tempi del covid per stare in contatto con persone dall'altra parte del mondo e molto efficace nel creare delle comunità. L'abbonamento nitro, con pochi euro, permette di avere molti vantaggi per chi è un po' più confidente con queste applicazioni. Consigliatissimo Pros Qualità audio e video alta rispetto ad altri competitor, server economici, tante possibilità di personalizzare il proprio server, abbonamento nitro con prezzo contenuto, possibilità di connettersi con molti utenti contemporaneamente e fondamentale per riunioni e sessioni gaming di gruppo. The features they provide are really helpful, e.g. when the are "raids" on servers, Discord provides helpful safety features to stop these "raiders". Pros Join multiple servers, they allow you to develop Discord bots, you can customize your server and/or group chat to add privacy to your conversations, add roles, add permissions depending on the user, add safety features, and more. Cosa positiva ovviamente che è gratis, infatti basta scaricarlo per potere accedere alle sue varie funzioni. Utile anche il poter condividere il proprio schermo in chat con amici in modo da poter mostrare la tua sessione di gioco. Al suo interno vi sono milioni di canali che coprono un ampio spettro di argomenti e di personalità, quindi se entri in questo mondo puoi veramente connetterti col mondo intero. Por temas de pandemia, necesitábamos encontrar un software que nos permitiera organizar nuestras tareas diarias, junto al equipo. Terminamos inclinandonos por esta opción ya que nos permitía llevar, de manera más eficiente, conversaciones por temas (canales) y tener un historico de los chats escritos. Pros Permite crear un lugar principal donde se conviven los diferentes canales de comunicaciones. Cuenta con la posibilidad de embeber bots que facilitan tareas repetitivas, como por ejemplo: informar sobre la carga de nuevos commit insertados sobre un repositorio en particular. Permite vincular diferentes cuenta personales a la plataforma (Steam, Spotify, etc). Permite realizar comunicaciones con alta calidad y a muy bajo costo de ancho de banda. Cons Las opciones de configuración pueden llegar a abrumar un poco al comienzo de su uso.
