### "Discord. A perfect little utopia for online messaging. "

Overall my experience with Discord is an excellent one. It's become an important part of my day to day life. I do roleplaying on a server I created for me and my Husband. I use it for a server for a Fan Dub Project. You really can do anything with Discord. It's an ideal way to stay in touch with all of your friends no matter how far apart you are.

Pros

Discord is a gateway to infinite possibilities. There are literally thousands upon thousands of servers you can join with the Program being the center point of it all. I guarentee you there a server for anything and everything you have interest in. Gaming, Sports, Music, there's a server for that. This truly is the spiritual successor to instant messaging! You can link up your social media. You can link up your email. Discord offers support to those in need AND it's easy to use. All of this is completely free! You don't have to pay anything to use Discord!

Cons

There are a few things I'm not a fan of are the paid features. When you buy Nitro for roughly $10 a month, you get 2 server boosts for a server of your choosing, the ability to use Stickers/Emotes on any server, longer posts, and a 500mb upload limit. While these are good features, I'm not a fan of how it's locked behind a paywall when Discord is a free to use Application. Another issue I have is while there is Discord Support should something go wrong, in the amount of time it takes Support to respond, the issue you're having may very well already be resolved. Not exactly ideal if someone is raiding your server or harassing you in DMs.

It's easy to use and navigate, and I enjoy being able to collaborate with others and make new friends and connect with other people.

Pros

I like how I can talk to people and be apart of communities and have fun and connect with other people and just have a lot learn new things and collaborate with others!

Cons

I don't like how short the character limit is for my description/bio I wish it could be longer, so I can make it prettier, I also wish I could customize my profile without having to buy nitro

The best social platform I can think of that doesn't revolve around media or content creation. A leader in customization, organization, and connection.

Pros

I love the sheer amount of customization and organization that I can achieve with Discord, from simple servers with friends, to solor servers that act as involved planners, to large scale official servers that I interact with for games and more!

Cons

I do not love Discord's use of Artificial Intelligence, nor the paywalls for decent upload size/generally better file limit and extra customization. I am alsobof a mind that the quest system is invasive and a nuisance.

Many of the groups and organizations I'm a part of use Discord, so I have to use it. I wouldn't choose it myself and wouldn't want to use it for longer than I have to.

Pros

It becomes a bit easier to use over time. Secondly, I can switch between groups I'm a part of; for example, I am in a Discord channel for a volunteer group, an alumni association, a networking association, a political organization, and a group chat with friends.

Cons

I think the layout is a bit confusing, and there's not enough color contrast. I don't really like the way replies either start a new thread or are on the same page for everyone to see. I think the moving emoji options to respond to others is sort of tacky. The options to speak out loud have never been used in any group I've ever been in, and I think they take up unnecessary space. I don't understand the whole Nitro thing.

Pros

Discord is very good to communicate and collaborate with people around the world. I like the fact that it is easy to navigate. The availability of tagging is great. It’s customer support team is great.

Cons

Discord can be find Overwhelming especially for new users. Also there is need for subscription to have access to some interesting features.

Overall, Discord is a fun environment for relaxed discussions among colleagues, more of a team-building setting vs a successful work project setting.

Pros

It is a very well-organized space for conducting cross-departmental projects and discussions. It is also a more relaxed setting with many collaboration features.

Cons

Lacks security: There are spam bots, which pose a significant problem and a substantial security risk. Discord also mutes automatically when it hears background music which is frustrating for the user.

I like everything about Discord. Its most appealing features are seamless communication with people from anywhere in the world, and media sharing adn storing across devices.

Cons

Some features are sometimes found to be buggy when a new update is rolled out.

Pros

First things first, Friendly ui, easy to use for beginners. I use it for gaming with friends and everything else gaming related. The ability to have voice and video calls with alot of people is really good. Webhooks are very useful, huge variety of bots you can implement in your server.

Cons

Unfortunately photos and videos sending is really limited unless you have a subscription to Nitro which is not necessarily something i wanted to get.

No one actually monitors. they have cyber bullying and harassment that is active and they do nothing, they send you a generic automated message of how you can go about reporting somebody but it only works one way there's no other options and no other individuals willing to actually do the work that needs to be done.

Pros

It's easy to use, would be great if there's actual people monitoring issues or when you send in a report of issues that they will actually communicate with you and try to figure out a workaround, but they dont

Cons

Reporting issues is the waste of time, cyberbullying, harassment and demeaning comments allowed, if you tried to report a server or a user or admin you're automatically blocked and nobody replies back other than an automated system that ends up switching any active complaints to solved

My overall experience is great! In my day to day experience the free version is perfect for what I need to do. I've had nothing but great experiences with Discord, especially with the integrations.

Pros

Discord is great! You are able to maintain high quality voice and video calls even if there are multiple people within the call. Another huge plus is that it is free to use! Discord also provides multiple integrations such as Spotify, Youtube, Twitch and more.

Cons

There aren't many cons that come with discord, besides that it does consume a good amount of memory as it is a resource heavy application. You do have a limited file size that you can send with the free version of Discord, however you do have the option to pay for Nitro to have more functionality such as, better screen sharing quality, bigger file size, higher character amount in messages, and more.

Free to use for the essential features. Easy to setup servers with channels and permissions. Call quality is good.

Cons

Too many customization options locked behind the expensive Nitro subscription. 100 server limit without nitro subscription. Rich presence can sometimes get stuck or be heavily delayed (eg. Crunchyroll).

It is a great app for building and engaging with a community and being productive at the same time. There is no dearth of features to improve engagement with your audience be it in chats or the voice channels. The change in usability due to frequent updates can take some time to get used to but functionality of essential features is not hampered by this.

Pros

I like the ability to segregate topics into different channels for discussing various topics separately. It avoids confusion having different conversations with the same group of people.

Cons

Lack of support for new features. New features are frequent in Discord and often influence the way you use the app, adapting to these changes takes time which can be reduced if there was more support through videos on changes being made in every update.

Overall, I would say it is great for talking to like minded people via various public servers/communities, and really great for audio chat with friends while video gaming.

Pros

It's a great app to join various public communities or to make your own private community to discuss and chat about any topics you want. You can create voice channels to audio chat with your friends while doing any other work. You can set permissions for different users and use third party bots too. There's an endless list of customizations you can do on this social media app.

Cons

It might be a bit overwhelming and confusing to use for those users who have never used this kind of social media app before. Also some features are locked behind monthly Nitro subscription which can be a bit too expensive.

Pros

Il software è fatto veramente bene, mi sentirei di dire che sia il migliore riguardo la creazione di server per videocall per quanto riguarda la qualità e la stabilità delle chiamate. A sinistra della schermata sono presenti due menù suddivisi in due colonne, la prima mostra le icone di tutti i server salvati mentre la seconda mostra le varie stanze del server, alcune create esclusivamente per chat mentre altre per chiamate. Inoltre si possono aggiungere diversi bot per integrare funzioni aggiuntive personalizzate all'interno di ogni server. Infine è possibile utilizzare questo programma sia in versione software scaricabile compatibile con ogni sistema operativo sia online.

Cons

Questo software non presenta particolari lati negativi. L'unico lato negativo che mi sento di segnalare è il fatto che questo programma è un pochino pesante ma comunque rimane utilizzabile al massimo su ogni sistema operativo.

This app has allowed me to stay in touch with friends and followers and aided in streaming. The audio sometimes needs to be readjusted and on occasions doesn't work as it should but overall, a good software.

Pros

I like how easy it is to screen share, talk with friends or followers over dedicated channels with strong connection.

Cons

How hard it is to add or find people or groups sometimes. It feels like that could be made easier. Also, the audio options sometimes are difficult to set up, it should be easy.

L'interfacte intuitive est facile d'utilisation est parfaite. La qualité des appels audios et vidéos est très fluide. De plus la possibilité de création de servurs avec des salons spécifiques, la gestion de droits des personnes est très bénéfique. Cette application répond à de nombreux besoin comme l'organisation d'évènement, discutter ou bien jouer entre amis. Je conseille vivement son utilisation.

Cons

Le seul point positif peut être lors d'une connexion instable, les appels peuvent parfois être perturbé. De plus, certaines fonctionnalitées ne sont disponible uniquement avec l'extension payante.

Scary. For adults only and even then young adults are being damaged by the chat content..we are breeding a hate filled population from this site.

Pros

Advanced gaming. If this technology existed in my youth and young adult life, id lose touch with reality given the totallity of it consuming my everyday existence.

Cons

Chat rooms filled with inappropriate content for minors. Get your kids off of this site! FBI is looking into leftwing groups spreading violence on this site.

I've been using Discord to help people in community servers, the bots to manage servers are pretty neat, I even developed mine.

Pros

Discord is not a platform which consumes lots of resources, it's smooth and optimized. You can chat with anyone over the world, set roles between users and use bots to manage the server.

Cons

Discord changed some UI features that I really liked, the new design is sometimes confusing.

Pros

I like the vast comunication it gives. If i have a issue i can easily reach out to a comunity for help.

Cons

It all is great! Its fast reliable and east to navigate. Discord provides a upmost quailty of comunication service.
