Eveyone has loved how attractive, simple and transparent the elections were. I can't imagine going back to paper ballots again. Pros ElectionBuddy makes online voting simple. It is secure, a good value for the money, and provides results immediately after the close of the election. If you get stuck, there is support who will get your problem fixed. Cons There is nothing I don't like about ElectionBuddy. It is software that really works! It does force you to be careful about uploading your voting list. Have an extra space or a stray comma, then your election is suspended until it is fixed. Titles are clear and options are simple. Affordable for a small HOA. Pros I really like being able to run unlimited Test Votes. Initially, the large number of items which require a selection to finally get to a ballot is somewhat overwhelming. Knowing that the unlimited tries with the Test Ballot is available relaxed me greatly. I eventually created twenty one test ballots before going live with our Annual Election Ballot. Additionally, the HELP windows are easy to understand and have answered everything for me. Cons Proxy Voting requiring names of owners to be displayed. I would prefer fill-in. We have some owners that have “redacted from public record” identities. September 5, 2024 3.0 mediocre. I wish I had went with VoteHOA instead. at first there pricing is higher, but if you were paying for the consulting, the pricing ends up being the same. Pros The software worked as it should. If you are doing the more basic service I think this is for you. I don't think they are that great for professional users. Cons The follow up was not great. I showed interest on the \[sensitive content hidden\] and I did not get it set up finally till \[sensitive content hidden\] (I was hoping for a week turn around). Once I did get it set up, they did not send out all the notification reminders I had paid for. It was not till the end that, I realized it had happened. It was easy to monitor and fix problems while the election was running, and the reports it generates after the election closes are easy to read and download. Pros It is very easy to set up and manage. The customer support experience was also excellent, with very quick response times to our questions. The price per election seems reasonable for our smaller cohort and offers more features for the price than competitors. Cons Setting up our initial voter list was tedious, as I had to retype every name and address to conform to the required format. ElectionBuddy was good at pointing out when the list had errors, but for us, it meant deleting the list, correcting the errors, and uploading the list again. January 9, 2026 5.0 As stated above, it was easy to use and the Board appreciated the ease of use when casting their votes. Formerly we took polls during a ZOOM meeting. ElectionBuddy allowed me to choose a set period of time for voting - which further allowed all Board members to cast their vote/have their way, regardless if they were attending the ZOOM meeting or not. Pros We used ElectionBuddy for a smaller association Board that I manage, and everyone involved in the voting loved it! It is very easy/user friendly to set up the ballots and the vote, and results are easy to view and share. It's a fantastic, secure way to have secure voting! Cons I honestly don't have any cons. The entire process of using ElectionBuddy was easy and straightforward. They are willing to hear customer feedback to continually improve their product. Pros The product is very easy to use and their support is very responsive. Cons Deliverability of ballots can be an issue for members that have a very strong firewall so we have to send reminders through our system asking attendees to look for their ballots. The ability to duplicate previous setups significantly improves efficiency and reduces preparation time for subsequent elections. When we encountered issues with undelivered emails, the technical support team responded promptly, identified the root causes, and resolved the problems effectively. I have to select the outstanding voters one by one on each page, then send. I want to be able to send a reminder on schedule to all outstanding voters. We wanted to do it electronically. I searched for electronic voting and came across Election Buddy. I tried out the test vote and decided to use it for our lanai vote. It worked very well. Election Chairperson Primary/Secondary Education Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Election Buddy Wins by a Landslide!" September 3, 2023 5.0 Overall, it was very enjoyable. I spent a few weeks creating mock ballots to get the feel of the process, so when the actual election took place, I felt I was about 98% ready. Pros Election Buddy was easily customizable once I learned some of the intricacies of the product. The integration fit very well with our organization, and the pricing was very affordable, once I figured out which features changed the pricing. Cons The pricing of additional features could be shown up front before scheduling the election for deployment. I had to go back and remove certain branding and other options because they were not visible as upsells before I attempted to pay for the election. I admit that I could have done this earlier, but we had balloting changes down to the wire, and I still had to cancel and resubmit an election at an additional cost because of a change with less than 5 minutes before the start of the election. Reason for choosing ElectionBuddy Our previous Election Chairperson used and recommended Election Buddy. Unfortunately, they left the organization, so I was unable to brainstorm with them over the pros and cons of Election buddy versus other products. I did some research on the alternatives and found that Election Buddy offered a simple and cost-effective method of performing the election. I am pretty computer savvy (before becoming a teacher, I lead a team of Technical Architects who designed and documented Enterprise Data Centers. I was also a Systems Analyst, Systems Programmer, and Contract Specialist), so I did not want to have a product where if I had to pass the majority of the responsibility onto someone else, they would have a steep learning curve. April 6, 2022 5.0 The members of our organization like that they remain anonymous when voting to elect board members or voting to approve the annual budget. We customized the ballot with a photo of the entrance to our home owner association and this made the ballot easily recognizable. Many home owners have commented on how polished the ballot looked and how easy it was to vote. But the most important feature for us is the excellent customer service that we have received in the five elections we have run through Election Buddy. Pros It is easy to set up an election. Election Buddy can launch an election very quickly after you have set it up. Just this year we set up an election and had Election Buddy launch it an hour later. When I had questions as the election administrator, Election Buddy responded very quickly and knowledgeably. Election Buddy's customer service has always been excellent. Hats off to \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] who handled our questions in our last election. Cons I sometimes find the descriptions of the various types of elections to be unclear and I wonder if our organization is using the different election types in the best way. In our next elections, we plan on exploring more of the options Election Buddy offers. Reason for choosing ElectionBuddy Our organization used the free "test" election to see if we liked Election Buddy. And we liked it very much. Our board members were the voters in the first test election and they were pleased with the ease with which a voter could participate in an election. May 10, 2022 5.0 Members in different parts of the country and some international members were able to vote easily. We did not receive any complaints. We had the results ready a few minutes after voting ended. Any concerns were promptly answered by the team and they provided well researched articles for us to decide what type of voting we wanted to conduct. Pros The ease of access for our members to vote, helped increase voter turnout. The Unique Access Key ensured that each ballot was used only once, but ElectionBuddy foreseeing issues also all made it easy for election management to issue new ballots if necessary. We had a new member join while voting was still open and we were able to send them a ballot. Monitoring the results was easy. Even running practice votes helped us understand the process. Quorum is 5% so we more than met the requirements. Great tool vs. in person Annual Meeting to elect Board of Directors. Pros Use of Chat feature in the app resulted in very quick responses via email or the Chat feature. Links to applicable FAQs were helpful. Cons The set-up instructions were great; the follow-on actions of the Administrator during and post-election not as intuitive. Pros Great product, affordable, and was a great experience for the end user Cons Tricky to set up. The automatic chatbot that is designed to help, isn't helpful but is in the way. There is a "gotcha" moment as it isn't clear you need to add "extra" voters. I had to add them late and it cost 1/2 as much as the initial cost. Not sure why this is the case - felt like a cheap "gotcha" same on that one. Other than that it is a good product.
