It is efficient, constantly evolving based on feed back, and obviously designed by a veterinary professional to help other veterinary professionals Pros Instinct makes it very easy to track patient progress and communicate quick changes to treatment plans with the entire treatment team. Instinct is very user friendly and intuitive compared to a lot of the software for veterinary record keeping. I love the auto-save feature. I love the drug calculation tools and the fact plumbs is always at the ready. Cons I struggle a bit with some of the window's being so small. When I'm typing my SOAP or general record, it's about 1/4 of the screen and a box that is small to actually type my findings. Being able to expand it to be about 1/2 the screen would be easier. It has also made communication between departments easier. We all can look at instinct and see what has been changed, treatments due and how the patient is doing overall. From our CSR to our doctors we are all able to use instinct for various reasons. Cons Not having Instinct in the hospital with us during on boarding due to covid was not easy. We including instinct did make it work. Going from writing up orders and flow sheets and now having to understand how to translate that into a computer system was not easy. Once we got there we would not go back. Its not cluttered and busy with colors and I appreciate the tidy layout and ease of use. Cons Sometimes Instinct can be fussy and displays incorrect or not updated info (such as when processing a payment it may look like the payment was not taken as it reverts to the payment screen). Both hospitals offer different features that both support the functions that happen within the hospitals. I really enjoy this software. Pros I like how easy it is to navigate. See what special notes each patient has and needs. Easy to see when treatments are due and how to track them. Cons The only thing I can think of wold be not logging us out so quickly. From the beginning Instice staff has been very helpful with setting up and implemmenting this into our practice. The company QUICKLY responds to suggestions and customer service needs. It is very easy to use and offers many tools to make sure you are spending more time with you clients and patients, rather than on the computer or doing paperwork. I would recommend this over and over again. And the Plumb's guide is an incredible bonus. Cons I cannot think of any complaints. It allows for better communication between doctors and technicians for what is needed for patients that are hospitalized and even for out patient things as well! Treatments are easy to set up, customize and plan. I love that it calculates drug dosages and has set safety ranges. I feel like this software really brings the veterinary world up to par with human hospital standards. It should be considered standard of care in a 24 hour hospital setting! Cons There is nothing I would change. We switched from hand written, paper ICU charts to Instinct and I have been blown away. This software makes my job so much more efficient and my work day so much easier! Review Source
