It is easy to use and helps with hospital flow for both doctors and nurses. Helps ensure patients are receiving timely treatments, VASTLY decreases likelihood of medication errors with the help of Plumbs integration, and is aesthetically pleasing. Pros It is incredibly intuitive to use and took little training. I can easily create treatment plans as a doctor, see vital signs, immediately see important patient alerts, change doctors, assign a patient to myself I'm working on....the list goes on. It is an amazing software that has made my life in vet med much easier to navigate - both as a nurse, and now as a doctor! Cons I have few cons - the main one is that it is hard to see the total # of doses of a certain medication a patient has received during its hospitalization stay. This is what makes the biggest difference. Pros We have seen significant workflow improvement, capturing previously missed charges, and the best part is that Instinct is incredibly user friendly and easy to navigate. Their customer service cannot be beat! Cons We honestly don't have anything we dislike, like any program, every hospital uses PM software differently, it's very flexible. The team was very willing to help and keep on goal during on boarding and were helpful after with any questions or concerns. Pros What I like most about is their willingness to grow and improve. Feedback is always accepted and explored. The massive improvements over the past 3 years in functioning, integrations, and growth have made my job much easier. Cons This is a difficult questions because of 's willingness to take feedback and act on feedback. Our case manager thought of everything, helped with all the uploads, made relevant suggestions on how to create new protocols and work around. The team loves it and management has all the data needed. It is exactly what we needed for our busy 24h hospital. Pros It is intuitive, flexible and offers a wide range of reports and management focused data. Our medical team is able to customize templates to their preferances and finds the integration with our medical services and referral partners seamless. There is a robust self training program available for new team members that gets them up to speed quickly and great product support anytime we have questions. Cons There are a lot of options and set up takes some time to ensure things are working best for your hospitals needs. It is wonderful once you spend the time setting it up. May 15, 2025 5.0 Me and our entire staff are really happy with our switch from Cornerstone to Instinct. It makes doing our job so much easier. It's so intuitive and easly navigated. Pros The platform is very intuitive and honestly, aesthetically pleasing as well. But the customer service? STELLAR! We are a 24 hr emergency hospital and having the knowledge that we have an actual human for support the entire 24 hours is invaluable to us (BeepBoop is helpful, too!) Cons It is really easy to use, but I wish it were just a bit more customizable to our individual needs. Don't get me wrong, it is a great platform, but there are a few of the reports that I wish I could tweak to give me the metrics I am interested in tracking and do away with the ones I don't want. Built in access to drug calculator and Plumbs are extremely helpful. Pros I've only used this in the clinical setting- not for data capture or billing purposes. This is my second favorite veterinary medical records platform, after EzyVet. I've used everything from DVMaxx, VMACS, a literal typewriter, Impromed, AIS, and the much hated Cornerstone. Instinct's medical record and treatment sheet interfaces work well, even in the hectic ER. We are able to set up templates for data entry and bundled treatments which are great help with efficiency. The medication calculator is a literal lifesaver. So many medical errors have avoided with this one feature. Ease of e mailing, and the ability to copy/paste, and use snippets are excellent. Cons Seriously, though. What is with the breed abbreviations? So confusing.... I'd love the thumbnail feature that EzyVet has, linking rad and US images to the medical record. I'd also like a cat or dog icon (or bearded dragon, we don't judge) to help quickly help identify species. I’ve used it now for 4-5 years (vet school into my first two ER jobs) and it is the easiest, most user friendly program. Pros It is the easiest and move intuitive EMR and treatment sheet ever! I began using Instinct in veterinary school and now am on my second hospital. It is literally like an iPhone in terms of ease of use/how intuitive it is to use. At this point in my career, I don’t know that I would work at a hospital not using Instinct. If you’re still using cornerstone for a treatment sheet - PLEASE consider trying Instinct! I believe in this EMR so much I dream of working for them one day - LOL! Cons None. We can just through relief vets into it with minimal training and very intuitive. That it is very intuitive overall. That it is really good to not miss charges. The improvements that occur fairly quickly based on user suggestions. Cons Having to ask team to make vitals. Waiting for them to be made. That it doesn't prompt you when client chat occurs. I'm excited about future expansion of the suite of products. Pros Instinct Treatment Sheet is the best in the business and miles ahead of competitors. Safety measures built into the system are an big advantage. Plumb integration is tremendous and very valuable. Excited about the ePrescribing (although I haven't had the opportunity to learn much about it) as I think it'll further allow us to operate more efficiently. Instinct Med Record is intuitive and customizable to the needs of the practice. Cons I wish our hospital was able to better integrate with the Instinct suite of products. The treatment sheets are easy to use and understand and there are many options for how you set up your program within your own hospital. The medical records portion is also easy to use and understand. I would recommend this program to any veterinary hospital in need. Pros Instinct is a good treatment sheet and medical records platform. We have had an excellent experience with role out of the product and support whenever we have a question or need help. The team at Instinct is professional and responsive and I am not sure how we could have had any better service. Cons There are still some updates and integrations that would be helpful for the program. The team is very responsive to feedback and we have seen several of our request come out as updates. Makes having patients in various parts of a large hospital easier to manage. Pros When we first adopted Instinct for our large specialty and ER clinic, I was not sure I was going to like it. And while there was a learning curve, I cant imagine how we did things without it in the past. Sure, one of the main features/points is for charge capture, which is important, I am more of the how does it help me do my job. I love that I can pull up my patients treatment sheet anywhere in the hospital and make additions when I think of them rather than the next time I find myself in ICU. Cons The logic behind some of the codes still eludes me. To this day I can never remember what misc owner medications is under.
