A lot of things could be a certain way and final cut made things look a lot different. Pros It is nice to be able to easily work in Final Cut Pro when switching from other software because of how intuitive the software is. There is not a steep learning curve. Cons The magnetic timeline can be harder to manage for complex, layered edits as opposed to Premiere Pro. Ots always updating to stay ahead never updating to catch up. I've been able to use it more with the ever day features that i feel like I can do with other editong systems. I dont feel like i have to use it with only additional purchased add-ons to get what I need. Cons My least favorite thing about this program is that it is only offered for Apple computers. I do sometimes wish i could take it on the go with me on my ipad, but then again i can do basic clips and layouts through imovie and have it seemless transfer into FCPx and not miss a beat. Once I dedicated the time to learning how to use it, most things became easy. Even still, there's always more to learn, and more features to explore. Pros I love integration with third-party to provide video effects, luts, and more. I love the customizability of the command sets, and I appreciate that it can be used without experience, and with experience you can take much more advantage of it. Cons There definitely can be a sharp learning curve if you want to do advanced stuff with Final Cut Pro. However, if you put the time and effort into learning, it becomes a powerful tool. Although our editing needs have changed over the years and other software are also being used, we still regularly use final cut for our editing needs. It has worked out very well for us with auto save and features that are simple and advanced to use. Pros Final Cut allows for more advanced editing and video making. The tools and features are not too complex to learn and implement for making videos. Cons When final cut moved from 7 to X, the interface took a major overhaul change. This made some of our users want to stay on the 7 for a while, and a few even ventured into premiere. While the updates to Final Cut Pro X has been massive and very good, the interface took a bit to get used to.
